Oh aye, when Redmond came off I was chuffed. Hooper I could understand, he'd fluffed a chance and a half chance and you were starting to make space for crosses so Elmander is kinda alright. He got caught, didnt know whether to change too much as you had pressure yet couldnt leave it. Johnson and Tettey were poor, Fer nearly as bad, couple good passes but fouls a lot and doesnt break up enough.
It looked destined for a 0-0 draw that both teams deserved for not really grabbing the game. But we had grit and a better bench, Diame especially.
Big result for us and I love how we dig in. Two more clean sheets than anyone else, 4 in a row and 3 (2-0) wins on the trot. Sadly, that table being as it is we might fall from 10th to 18th by the end of next weekends games.

Considering we've one win in all competitions since early December, I'm struggling to see us winning the 4/5 games we need to stay up West my man

Fer's not an AM, he needs to be played in a CM role where he can break from deep. Tettey is usually decent, off game tonight. Bradley Johnson is Bradley Johnson, always pants. When we play that system, without Howson, we have to play Hoolahan in the AM role. Whenever in the limited time they've played together, Hoolahan and Hooper have linked really well, no idea why we haven't seen more of it tbh.
Elmander's barely won a header all season Chris. He's useless in the air, even RVW's better and he's a freakin powder puff forward.
If he was gonna take anyone off it should've been Snodgrass or Fer. Don't take off your most attacking threat and top goalscorer!

I love the league this year. Chelsea unbeaten against Man City, and West Brom unbeaten against Chelsea. Maybe the gunners will snap out of it and despite getting pounded by Liverpool a win at home against a dreary United at home sees them on top by 2.That being said we have not burned it up against the big teams in league so far this season.

Don't worry Olly - Norwich will be playing Liverpool and Arsenal when their respective seasons are over, United when it really is all over for Moyes, and Chelsea when they're on their victory parade and don't give a toss.
4 points minimum coming from those last four games!

Huge win for West Ham, is it true there in top half? Full credit to Big Sam and his lads, after that Forest/Citeh game they looked a doomed side. Now look like a respectful mid table team.
Poor from Chelsea, 2 big points dropped.
Decent enough point for Cardiff and Villa.
Good win for Southampton, why does Jose Fonte always seem to score???
For the record, Norwich need to keep hold of Hughton if they want to stay up.

Yep West Ham are top half currently.
10th place but only four points from 18th...what a crazy season.

Arsenal lose to United tomorrow, and Liverpool win, they're just four points off of the title. Come on United! Won't be many times I'm supporting them.

God Houghten is a poor manager to say the least. The subsitutions he makes are just mind boggling sometimes. Twitter almost went into meltdown when he took off Norwich's best player Redmond when he was playing very well. Noriwch are down unless they take a punt at Mckay somehow coming in and doing what Pulis is doing with Palace.
For me, its pretty clear cut now that: Cardiff, Fulham and Norwich are going down unless they pull off a terrific run of form.

If that Greek striker fulham have bought hits the ground running and grabs 6-8 goals in 12 games they could well have that run of form.

i actually dont mind what rene has done since taking over at fulham, he's got rid of lazy dead wood like adel and berba who arent the players for a dog fight and now they have a team who look like they will all fight for the same cause. still a lot depends on the new signings gelling quickly and may be almost too late by the time they do, but the team he inherited from jol was extremely unbalanced and poor. berba obviously has quality as does adel but more often than not there a massive luxury, one that even united couldnt afford
stoke, palace, west brom, sunderland all not safe as well as the mentioned above, i can still see a lot of swapping and changing till the end of the season. theres always one team that does a "wigan"

Sunderland - win a cup and get relegated? Yes I saw that Fulham got rid of Berbatov in the January window yet it didn't seem to make the headlines. Agree that Fulham were unbalanced - too many lazy players not prepared to work really hard for the cause.compelling and rich wrote:... i can still see a lot of swapping and changing till the end of the season. theres always one team that does a "wigan"

With regard to potential sackings probably now is the last opportunity with the two week gap - although I suppose many will be jetting off now for hot weather training.

A very interesting match up tonight!!
Chelsea and Man citeh havent made Arsenals loss at Liverpool count.
Man U need to show results quick or the OT machine will start making noise.
Arsenal need to win, But Man U has played well against them this year. They seem to play against that sort of opposition(arsernal and european teams) even under Moyes!!

On to the real game.
Everton v palace.
Everton are not exactly a huge goal scoring team.. Very good football V very good organisation- but no real cutting edge.
I think Palace can sneak another draw..

By the way- Well done hammers.
They are a team I personally have the most rivalry with- I know that isnt the norm norm for palace fans but it is for me and quite a few others..
But respect to them. Sam as Dolph has stated before can be a pulis when he wants.. However its the general Nolan that has stepped up as well.

Let's see if Mourinho's sneaky ploy to hurt his rivals in upcoming games by selling Mata to United pays off. This league has been ridiculous this year, it would not surprise me to see United go to Arsenal & win.
As for Newcastle, since Cabaye left, we've not won, not scored & looked pretty woeful. I knew the short term would be difficult but we really need to start picking up points now, we can't afford to lose contact with Southampton & United.

Thanks Mysti. Odd rivalry to have, West Ham and Palace, but then I guess it depends on a lot of factors. I for instance have no beef with Millwall when apparently I'm supposed to.
Nolan isn't a general though. He is an occasional goalscorer that isn't worth a place in the side when he isn't scoring.

Have to say I was delighted that Chelsea slipped up last night. Mourinho is beginning to annoy me with these mind games. He's like a 3rd rate TV star who thinks he need to keep himself in the limelight irrespective of how much of an idiot he looks. it was karma...maaaaaan
Why try to inject needless drama into a season that's already as good as any the Premiership has seen? There's no need for petty squabbling and creating a phony grudge match when the football we're seeing is of such a high standard

Good point regarding Mourinho's cunning plan. As long as Arsenal drop points then the plan could have said to have worked (plus they got 37 million for him - although that's peanuts to the chairman). Rooney and RVP have only just got back from injury so it is understandable it will take time for them to reach match level fitness including recovery times - they may be weary from playing over the weekend.John wrote:mystiroakey wrote:...

Shame about Newcastle always having to sell their best players. It must be really difficult for Pardew, while Carbaye spends quality time sitting on the PSG bench while Demba Ba is lucky if he makes it onto the Chelsea bench.

He does organise well, I do rate him as a captain to some extent, but the last part of that sentence is correct, if hes not on his goalscoring game he is a problem.
On the Millwall thing, I grew up hating Spurs most, but it only took a Millwall West Ham game to make me realise about the rivalry. I've been to 3 or 4 now and there isnt anything like it for waking the place up. Every single one of those games has been different yet intense, always intense

I don't know how he does it but Big Vic loves a goal against a big team. Great point last night, kept Chelsea pretty quiet for most of the game and then put the pressure on last 20/25 minutes.
Oh and Olly, what was Ruddy doing for that 1st goal last night? #englandsnumber4

I dunno what he was doing, a shame because he was having a brilliant game up to that point and looking back to his form of last season are injury. He hasn't had a great year this year really.
But then its hard knowing as a defence you can't concede a goal otherwise we won't win

Brightonare historical rivals.. We all know that.. But when you rarely play a team the rivalry means zip..
The rivalry was great last year or so though. But unless you come up- the rivalry will still be historic only
Anyway- Are we really going to bring this one up again..

Arsenal Line Up:
Szczesny, Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky, Ozil, Cazorla, Giroud.
Subs:
Fabianski, Jenkinson, Monreal, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Podolski, Sanogo, Bendtner.
Manchester United Line Up:
De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Vidic, Evra; Valencia, Cleverley, Carrick, Mata; Rooney, van Persie.
Subs:
Lindegaard, Büttner, Ferdinand, Fellaini, Young, Hernandez, Januzaj.
History suggests that United should be taking all 3 pts tonight. Will Moyes finally end his hoodoo of not winning away at a top 4 side?

It's just stupid, evra can't run back anymore so why play a guy who doesn't do much defending and wants the fullback to provide the width in front of him.
Just start januzaj instead of Valencia and play 4231.
