Copper Box Card
First topic message reminder :
I'm really looking forward to this, it'll be interesting if Fury gets caught clean to see how he reacts. Guys who don't as hard as Abel have hurt him so I want to see if he can keep his guard up for the duration.
We've also got press passes for this event as well, so a big thank you to Frank Warrens people for allowing us the access, Owen will again be attending and doing the write up.

Its fine having Buglioni and that other guy on cos they sell tickets, and Hughie Fury is much more than just Tysons cousin, but what was the point of that Skeete fight? and dont get me started on Steve Collins Jr...
For me the biggest risk on the night had more to do with Fury and Chisora's personality disorders/ training regimes than their opponents.

Fury-Chisora 2 is a stadium fight don't you know.... Crikey.
Another dross card where practically every result is already known before the evening begins. What is the point in these?

What are you talking about Truss??? I wrote a sugar coated article???
That's BS. You must be thinking of someone else. I didn't write whatever you're referring too.
I am only a fan in the sense that I don't hate the guy. I watch him fight because it's entertaining.
If you want to skip back a few months, please read the back and fourths that I had with Az when it came to Fury, you will see I'm hardly in the Fury Fanclub.

As for Fury being "entertaining", again I'd question your definition of "entertainment". However given your definition of being a fan, I'm assuming entertainment for you is anything that doesn't involve being killed.

Eddie Chambers is a pretty good commentator. Can almost forgive him for the dreams.
Agree, was classic hometowning. Fury was in trouble and the ref bought him an extra 30-40 seconds of recovery time.
Add in the (hitherto unmentioned) low blow on the break, which he should certainly have had a point deducted for, and I can't help feel Fury was carried through a pointless match. Would note that Fury only really started having success after that low blow. Eddie is a decent commentator, and admitted the guy was known to be chinny, so maybe the low blow just sped up the inevitable.
Fury was so so poor. Jab was appalling, so vulnerable, terrible condition, fought dirty. Would like to see his head taken clean off. Haye would have toyed with him and then rendered him unconscious. Sadly I'm with some that I'm not 100% Chis could do it. If his conditioning is as good as this card (and Fury's equally bad) then maybe he's got a chance on the cards if he drops Fury a couple of times (more likely, I think, than actually stopping him).
You only need to look at cousin Hugie to see the difference of someone who can actually box a bit and doesn't have an attitude akin to Wee weeing all over the sport. Hughie's jab was much much sharper, snappier, more accurate and a more effective weapon.

A little bit out of character for me , but I'll admit Fury is a bit of a guilty pleasure, I can't help being captivated and humoured when I see him interviewed. It's make a nice change from hearing the goody two shoes scripted answers a David Beckham would give.
He isn't the greatest fighter by all means, he has a big heart and for 25 he hasn't done bad for himself.

Not marmite truss. That fight at the weekend was a warm up and some people seem to be actually offended by Fury's fight. He got caught a few times? So? It was without doubt the highlight of the card. I'm not talking about you when I mention people yapping.
I take Fury as be goes. When he is finally in a big fight il reserve judgement but this fight was a fight where Fury came back after getting mucked about for the "guts" (no pun intended) for almost a year being inactive. He finished well. I am just looking at the positives rather than jumping on the negatives.
He was rusty, let's see how he goes as he starts fighting more regularly again.
He's funny, he's a character and he is back to knocking people out. I don't see what the big deal is mate

He looked atrocious, the guy he was facing was nothing more than a journeyman and a particularly average one at that. Fury getting buzzed by him merely highlights his chin is pretty much the same as Prices... Who at least got knocked out by a genuine HW and wasn't being flattened by a cruiser weight who has never been a puncher.
Would fancy Wlad to wobble him around just with his jab before walking the giant oaf onto a big right hand that would result in him not beating a 1000000 count.
Heck. Fancy an in shape Chisora to stop him this time round

He needs to move quickly.........The shadow of Joshua is looming bigger on the Brit scene.......He wants to forget Chisora...By the time he's fought him.. Joshua is probably 9- 0............
HBO will love Anthony Joshua.......(I imagine they will set up a unification series If need be !!)........Bodybuilders physique, handsome face and good speed and power......Fury, Price and Chisora have to try to move at world level now or they will just be footnotes..........
Joshua seems made for the pros......Just what we need...........I think he beats every Brit now..

Re: Copper Box Card
He looked off, so? Seems any other fighter that comes in with being inactive for a long period gets excuses made for them. Look at Chisora...when he fought Fury people said and still say "oh he was being messed about by Wlad so he wasn't 100%".
I again repeat, I wouldn't be caught dead paying to watch Fury live. I went to one of his fights before when a bar I was in had guys from Furys team/ hessessys handed out free tickets because hardly anyone was buying them. But people are jumping all over this fight. His chin is nowhere near prices because Fury has never been stopped. His head went back in the 2nd round and after he clinched he went straight back to taking over the fight. Yes he looked messy and erratic but he still won every round and floored the guy 4 times. It was hardly a struggle.
This fight means nothin. It was a comeback fight after a layoff. Fury thought he just had to turn up to win, Abell have him a few shots. It's a boxing match, what did you want Izzi? For Abell's punch stats to read 0%? Shock horror Fury got hit!!!
We know Fury has goes down and gets caught hard sometimes. My point is people are raving about this as if they never knew it before.

Far too early to judge Joshua, he is facing tomato cans at the moment. I'd like to see him leave the public eye and knuckle down to come back in 10 fights. I like the kid , but I have an awful feeling about him that his going to implode after 4 hard rounds. Ill reserve my judgement after he has actually fought someone, I remember you were giving Price this hype.

Sorry Dippy lad but you've always maintained that Haye would be terrified of Fury and refuse to engage him this stifling any offence. Thus whenever the conversation turns to Haye/Fury you can't help but shoehorn Wlad into the equation as if the two are twins from the same egg.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:I never compared ability..

Re: Copper Box Card
Truss I agree with you. The point I was making is, I take fury by a fight by fight basis.
The fight on Saturday was a comeback after a year lay off losing about 5 mill in the process.
But yet people wanted Fury to fight like Mayweather when he's never fought within 10 miles of that.
He always gets caught, he always looks a bit ragged.
I watched the card last night and Furys is the only fight that was entertaining with good moments.
If I was still a boxnation subscriber I'd be thanking Fury for being on the card because the rest of the night would have been the biggest waste of money ever

He was moving pretty well up until the drama queen roped him into a year of.....errrrm drama.
He's back fighting so we will see how he gets on from here. Having Hennessy lingering about is still a negative.
I bet Fury is looking forward to making his championship debut on that website Froch fought Taylor on.

Stll think Hennessy and Fury are too stupid to see the future slipping away......
The future is going to arrive in 18 months time.....
Haye better hope his rehab runs smoothly and quickly also......
If Joshua can take a punch...Fury will wish he'd fought Wlad.......
HBO will be coming over cap in hand..........If this kid wins a belt........Who is going to stop him ??

Because your ridiculous argument would immediately fall flat on your face if you did.
Let's see, think of a big lumbering untalented HW........oh yes, Valuev, where Haye won handily. So a harder-hitting guy with better chin and significantly more imposing physique couldn't intimidate Haye - but Fury did??
You're either totally discrediting Wlad or simply your own intelligence.

Utter codswallop and you're making yourself look a complete and utter fool by suggesting it.
Haye beats, and isn't intimidated by, a 7' 300lb monster with a chin and punch but would be scared Poopie by an equally incompetent 6'9" 270lber without a chin or punch BECAUSE he couldn't engage successfully, let alone beat, a Top20 ATG HW who's a supremely athletic 6'6" 250lber with huge power and excellent defensive skills.
Pathetic wally.
