Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
I thought Allen was a done deal but Bowden was being offered silly money from Bristol.
A Pohe/Manu midfield. The thought makes me smile. Combined weight of 35 ish stone. Both mobile with decent if not great handling skills. That'll draw in a lot of defences leaving room for the outside backs.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
Imagine if goneva stays as well.
you could have a attacking wise off a lineout crash balling choice between Mulipola, Pohe and Manu combined weight of 55 stone. and with goneva that's like 71 stone and some magic feet. Wouldn't want to defend that.
Add in Peace the 18.9 stone 6ft 4 bulldozing number 8 from Rotherham (qho gets raves reviews from there supporters says he is better than Dickerson at saints).

true - real shame we do not have the most accurate thrower in this seasons HEC.
Oh wait..... we have.

Funny how Leicester Tigers are third in the league with one of the best lineout percentages in the AP with such awful throwing isn't it?

Well TY one of the most consistent throwers in the league and then we will also have one of the most consistent lineout throwers in the 6 Nations in Ghiraldini.

It did make the laugh during the Saints game. All that build up over Youngs line out work and it was Hartley that struggled and then left the field early after a poor attempted clear out.

I know, we can be an uptight bunch. Unlike Bath supporters who are born with good humour (you need a good sense of humour if you're trying to convince visiting supporters that The Rec is a ground worthy of Premiership status... )

So lets get this straight. All you need for a WUM to be considered effective is a response?

I think there are plenty of options for England Yappy, young Chrisholm isn't that good. Yarde, May, Ashton, Nowell, Wade (if fit) and maybe Tait are all options.

I'll take exception at "isn't that good", Sam. He's looked very good when he's played but he's had two lengthy periods out injured, courtesy of Dan Cole sitting on his ankle and the Allianz Park pitch. But I'll agree that those players are definitely ahead of him on the list of possible tourists, especially as only Ashton and Tait are likely to be involved at the pointy end of the season.
For the future, though, if Chis can stay fit and get a run of games he's like a quicker Mike Brown who is comfortable playing wing or fullback. He even has the same haircut. [tongue||cheek] It's like a bit like all Bomber's Christmas wishes came true at once... if only Sharples could maintain fitness and form he could pick all three of them and bamboozle the opposition with the Attack of the Clones [/tongue]

I meant he isn't that good that in four/five games he's going to shred Lancaster's pecking order and go to NZ. Whether he is good enough to play for England in the future is an entirely different matter.
Watson, knew I'd forgotten one. Cheers, Bathite.

Manu @ 12,
Wasps have had to make several changes. I can't see them getting anywhere near parity. Can see a large winning margin for Tigers on Saturday.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
London Irish team to face Newcastle Falcons:
15. James O’Connor*; 14. Topsy Ojo*; 13. Fergus Mulchrone; 12. Eamonn Sheridan; 11. Andrew Fenby ; 10. Shane Geraghty*; 9. Tomás O’Leary*; 1. Matt Parr; 2. Mike Mayhew; 3. Leo Halavatau; 4. George Skivington (Captain); 5. Nic Rouse; 6. Blair Cowan; 7. Gerard Ellis; 8. Ofisa Treviranus*
Replacements: 16. Jimmy Stevens; 17. John Yapp*; 18. Jamie Hagan*; 19. Ian Gough*; 20. Bryn Evans*; 21. Alex Lewington; 22. Myles Dorrian; 23. Darren Allinson
Interesting selection. Really pleased to see Gerard Ellis get his first Premiership start, but gutted that Tom Fowlie isn't in the 23. No Marland Yarde either. I wonder whether we will actually see him in a London Irish jersey again now.

I hope not, GF, we've got to get that 7th place at a minimum. And if we win tomorrow, you won't need to care about our visit to you in the last game of the season!

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
Saints team up for Sunday's game at Allianz. Strongest line up for a long time, 13 of the first choice 15 by my reckoning including the full first choice back line and back five forwards. Relieved Myler is back after injury and hopefully he's one of those players who doesn't take any time to regain form.

Saracens team-
Saracens: Wyles; Ashton, Bosch, Barritt, Strettle; Farrell, De Kock; M Vunipola, Brits, Johnston; Borthwick (capt), Botha; Wray, Brown, B Vunipola.
Replacements: George, Barrington, Stevens, Sheriff, Burger, Wigglesworth, Hodgson, Streather.
Had already read that Goode would not be risked after last week but still a strong line up. Surprised to see no Joubert - underrated player in my opinion.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 19
Like the look of that Tigers team. Plenty of carrying options and a bench which could make a massive impact if required. Big game for Balmain who will want to show the coaches he's ready for more first team game time after another solid season as a back up.
Good news also that the wife got tickets so I will be in attendance for this one. Weather should be nice as well. Running rugby in the Welford Rd sunshine.
