Ultimately, Dallas needs a lot more bodies on the DL, on paper its the worst in the league right now, so Jernigan makes sense as BPA there for now.
Manziels a nice story, but Jerruhs too much in win now mode to spend a first round pick on someone to ride the bench for 3 years

If Johnny Manziel is still here at #16, I think Jerry Jones pounces. They can fill other needs later on. Someone like Dominique Easley could.be available in the 2nd round at DT.

Or until Tony Romo's back gives out after a handful if games. Who would you rather have then Manziel or Brandon Weeden?GSC wrote:Manziels a nice story, but Jerruhs too much in win now mode to spend a first round pick on someone to ride the bench for 3 years
The Cowboys maybe in win now mode but.Romo hasn't 'won' yet and he is 34. Only two QBs older have won a Super Bowl in 30 years and one was John Elway. Romo is not Elway.
It is ok being in 'win now' mode if you are the Broncos with Peyton Manning and actually have a chance of winning now but the Cowboys don't.

Voted other CJ Mosely LB
We have so many needs across the D so just take the the BPA
Jernigan - Nix or would also be OK as best D lineman available
In truth if he's available Jerry would probably waste our 1st rounder on Manziel

Yeah, you don't take a first round QB because your big dollar QB might get hurt.
Jerruh won't rebuild until the team wins like 2 games

CJ Mosley for me. BPA in defense. My list of 3 are Mosley, Hageman then Ford.
Cowboys need help along the DL but Mosley is so much more polished than Hageman and will make a greater impact from Week 1.

Jones is clearly in love with Tony Romo and he's tied down for another 3 years. I really don't see them taking him.

Voting "Other" = CJ Mosley... just to stop Johnny Football from going to Dallas!

They can't cut Romo for those 3 years either or assume a ton of dead money. Jerrys clinging to mediocrity, Manziel would make sense to most franchises, but Dallas isn't most franchises

I don't think they should, but if Jerry sees him still there I think he'll take Manziel.

Re: 606v2 Mock Draft: #16 - Dallas Cowboys
Jerry has been in win now mode since forever. They can't win now with that D-Line so it has to be a D-Lineman. I've gone with Jernigan - he'd be a bit of a reach here but not as big as the DEs and he sounds more suited to the Cowboys than Nix. Sounds like the kind of guy Jerry would love - high ceiling guy who still has a bit of work to do but who could certainly do a job right now.
Mosley has too many injury red flags for me. Doesn't look great for a guy who has had multiple surgeries on knees and shoulders before he gets to the NFL. It's a big risk using a first round pick on a guy like that.
I don't think even Jerry takes Manziel if he falls this far. They just don't have enough talent to take a guy who is as likely to be a bust as he is a superstar when they already have a decent QB. Even Jerry isn't that daft.
