Sinclair scored a few penalties and suddenly he was the best thing since sliced bread
Never saw the hype, there was a reason Swansea didn't fight particularly hard to keep him

He was living off the hat-trick in the play-off final for ages. Didn't step up for me at all & then got cocky, greedy & moved for money to Manchester to be closer to his annoying girlfriend. Did he even play for WBA on loan? Another career gone to waste, there was some talent but nothing special. You feel Zaha could follow suit, I mean, the time at Cardiff was hardly impressive.

The PR stunt in full effect as City only need 5 homegrown players as opposed to the standard 8

maybe, let's see what path Wilfried takes over the next few seasons. I hope he turns it around, think he`s obviously more talented than Sinclair, just needs to be given a chance somewhere.

Cech's not what he was, never has been since the head stuff. Courtois is better now, and your GK for the next 10-15 years

Cech is still a ways above Courtois for my money. He's what? 31, 32? Still got at least five years left, and its not like Courtois is getting on himself. havent seen anything in Cech's play that justifies getting rid of him, for mine.

I think Olly has a point, albeit still very good, Cech hasn't reached his pre injury performances imo. Courtois shown the ability to be world class at Atletico, at the highest level. However you're still projecting the fit in the PL, whereas you know youll get a high level from Cech

Dont really see it if I'm honest. Was the skintest keeper in the league, and produced minor miracles to win Chelsea the CL two years ago, and was only slightly less impressive wining the Europa.

Only just read the Yaya story. Seems to me, that Yaya just doesnt want to be in Manchester. Its a non-ssue, but sometimes, when youre with someone you dont particularly like, just having them breath can p1ss you off.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I think a lot of Chelseas record this season came from being so defensive. Not saying Cechs bad by any means, and hes a very consistent performer which is a big plus from your keeper. Just Chelsea could do better in Courtois if they want to risk it.

Rodwell should leave. Id love him at our place but he'd stink of Southampton target
I mean this is a serious way, not a Fishing way. I don't think Rodwell would want to join West Ham, whilst big sam is still your manager, it will be hard to attract players like Rodwell who like to get the ball down and play football the right way. He would be better of at Southampton and Swansea IMO.

There is no right way to play football, if one wishes to be pedantic.
And I'm not sure of how much use Rodwell will be now after being sat on his backside for two years.

Re: Barclays Premier League 13/14 Thread Part 'x'
I doubt that really matters to many players. He'd be getting the money. Secondly, he'd only need to look at Noble and Diame, who don't really play long ball, to know that midfielders arent expected to lump it. Its our defenders that go long, and its only when we're playing badly (just is that we played badly a lot this year). And, of course, its not his game so why would it suddenly become that way? What we do have is London, a decent wage structure and the Olympic Stadium coming. Funnily enough, last season we played the same number of long balls as Wigan and Swansea. Our problem is that we have far less possession. A player like him would, arguably, improve that drastically as he'd replace the ever running poorly passing Matt Taylor.
And Sam won't be our manager much longer if we don't improve our play so he'd not have to worry too much in that regard. He's probably a bit too slow for our already slow midfield, I just like signing British players.

Agree, that Liverpool love in towards the end of the season was pretty much unbearable. The United appointment was dwindling along so slowly - it began to irritate. I just wanna see United do the talking now in the market & prove they can still attract the big names. Let's get these signings & the window drama underway Louis!

Well Swansea play it the right way. Stoke never use to, any team managed by Big Sam doesn't.

Swansea dont play the right way. Southampton do, as much as it pains me to say it. They can play it mixed and thats the best way.

There is no right and wrong way to play football.
Managers play it in the way they think maximises their chance of winning, entertainment is secondary.

Worst signing we've ever made.
Played 11 games, did nothing. Even in the games he played he was poor. Bit of speed but not much else.
And he seemed like a right arrogant Muppet as well.

Interesting comments from Scholes, surprisingly open
http://blog.paddypower.com/2014/05/22/paul-scholes-exclusive-how-england-can-get-the-best-out-of-wayne-rooney/?AFF_ID=16562
Edward Woodward has an awful lot to prove this time that he’s good enough at his job. He has to bring the players in that the new manager wants. It’s obvious that last year he didn’t manage to do that. If he doesn’t, we are not going to get anywhere near the top
This most interesting imo

That is what I like about Scholes these days.
He has confessed the truth about his England career and possible regrets that it was partly his own fault.
"I had a really bad tournament, for one reason or another, playing on the left-hand side. Playing out wide was not the issue – it is easy to make that excuse. Some of my best games for Manchester United were on the left, especially when Ryan was injured. - See more at: http://blog.paddypower.com/2014/05/22/paul-scholes-exclusive-how-england-can-get-the-best-out-of-wayne-rooney/?AFF_ID=16562#sthash.Vy1NuA5z.dpuf"
