Tactics sent.
Trebs, how did that compare for brevity with those you've already had? I felt like I'd barely written anything. It felt alien.

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXIV
I've done an Xi, subs, injured players couple of lines on defending and attacking tactics.
Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXIV
I did a broad overview. I didn't really think of splitting defence and attacking. Good idea there Viva.

It's okay, I'm not judging the tactics on the length, just if they are thought out and are the right tactics.

I did a couple of lines on general tactics based on my scouting of Cherries side, a couple on attacking and a couple of defending

Mighty one of the main reasons of this league was to do basic short tactics.
I was going to do some tactics on opposition but I reckon that's a bit too much.

I thought the same Viva, brief tactics is brief attack, brief defence. Anything more than that becomes 'medium length' tactics.

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXIV
Mine are very brief. It was literally 'I think my opposition's strength is this, therefore I'll do this' and the same for an opposition weakness. i.e countering their main strength and targeting their main weakness, in my eyes

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXIV
My other tactic, which I didn't include due to length, was to compare my opponents to the best team in the league, Genk, and to show that no matter this result, neither side would be capable of stopping such a rampant team.

I just waxed lyrical about Cleverley and Carrick for a few pages. Exceeded the rules, but how can you keep to a few lines when describing the majesty of either?

Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXIV
France 98 is my favourite as I was a student, the games were on at proper times and we pretty much watched every game.
Italia 90 was my first proper one and it was a cracker too.
But I think I agree that Brazil 14 is blowing them all away
USA 94 was dull

That was my first tournament too and my favorite so far but Brazil 14 is running it close.
Re: Euro Division Homepage LXXIV
I remember some of Euro 88
I remember Italia 90 vividly, by far the best World Cup. Drama, excitement, all as a young kid. I've never had that football feeling since.
Euro 92 was poor.
USA 94 I loved but it was pretty boring. Hagi was a genius, as was Stoichkov.
Euro 96 was great (best tournament so far).
France 98 was beautiful. Dennis Bergkamp.
Euro 2000 was boring.
WC 2002 was most boring yet.
Euro 2004 was a snoozefest.
Germany 2006 was okay (great semi final with Italy, best WC game I ever saw)
Euro 2008? Didn't care for it.
WC 2010 was also pretty boring.
Euro 2012 was okay.
Brazil 2014 has been fantastic. Really great. Second to Italia 90 in World Cups, 3rd behind that and Euro 96 as overall tournaments.

I thought Italia 90 was widely derided for a negative approach to football from many sides? From an England perspective I can see why it might be top of the tree of course, much the same for Euro 96.

Hagi and Stoichkov were amazing in USA 94, you're right there Azzy. I had forgotten them. It was a shame Hugo Sanchez didn't play much as he could have joined them.
If I say remember 'that Hagi goal', you'll know exactly which one I mean

Nah. It started with Cameroon basically trying to break the Argies in half at every tackle, and ended with the Argies trying to do the same to Germany.
It had the Cameroon team making the quarters with Roger Milla, David Platt's goal, Matthaus dominating everything and everyone.

I've seen a lot of both 1990 and 1994, I can probably name more goals from those tournaments than I can necessarily remember from 2006 or 2010 to be honest.

I actually did. Was a financial appraisal of their accounts, comparing to other football clubs and other business of a similar size, to see if they were, financially, more like a football club or a business. Titled 'Man Utd - FC or PLC?'
Was exhilarating!

Toto Schillachi. The pulsating semi final against Germany, Ireland doing well. As an 8 year old, it had everything to capture my imagination.Afro wrote:sodhat wrote:I thought Italia 90 was widely derided for a negative approach to football from many sides? Hiya guys
Can someone just give me a heads up here, when do tactics need to be (usual deadlines and info like that) how much detail needs to be included (i.e. word limit, bullet points). If anyone could just quickly give me a summary on that, I would appreciate it. I do notice it has to be in for today so I'm hoping that tactics must be in every Monday?

Tactics:
Tactics should comprise of a starting XI and a few lines explaining how you want them to set up and play. Substitutions and Set piece are optional. These should be sent to me (or a nominated person if you play me) by the Monday of that gameweek.
Not to be grumpy (But I am atm, its too hot) but I did write a rules page.
You also need to confirm your lawyers on the transfer confirmation page, its what I update my master spreadsheet from.
Yes tactics is every Monday
