The difference in the midfield make up is glaringly obvious. We're playing so deep and ponderous that the Kiwi drift has adapted and is just hoovering up our attacks.
Manu is far too easily double marked on the wing with that midfield. He'd got no room and two defenders waiting for him.

Why did Brown run away from Manu. He stays on his shoulder and it's a pop inside for a try.

I honestly think it should of been a penalty to England. He wasn't support his weight and flopped forwards onto his hands.

That was mighty calm unrushed defending by Ben Smith. Didn't panic just waited for the right moment to intercept

massive positional frak up putting manu on the wing and with care's error rate and a ateral midfield england are in danger of squandering this, they are equal to nz and manu needs to get back to 13, put ashton on the wing

Brown didn't really help with his supporting line.

nz are the masters at getting away with infringements...mccaw round side of rucks, smith on brown, nonu obstruction (got caught), kaino round side of maul that england then fumbled. they are very clever about it and always do it on the side the ref isnt. it's a real skill and they are undoubted masters.
great half of rugby. wow. the english defense has been immense. can they keep up the effort? if care had been up to his usual best, england would be out of sight by now.

Fair play where it's due mate. That was outstanding from Ben Smith.
On another note what was Brown up to running his line?

Re: England v New Zealand - Test 2 (14 Jun 2014)
England had the lion's share of possession... think it was nearly 70-30 at one stage but it evened out towards the end of that half. ABs looking better and better with more ball. Will be interesting to see how the subs impact, who starts to tire first and who can capitalise on any errors made.

ah i take it back with the smith turnover.
He did have his hand on the floor but then lifted it when grabbing the ball.

This is where the pace of players like May is handy. Really daft decision to put Manu on wing, imo.

Yeah jane is having a pretty poor game so far. Seemed like everything he did ended up in a scrum. England started fantastically well but faded a bit and began to kick more which suits us.

England scrum ain't so dominant either to be fair.

To be fair, we do have to listen to alot of excuses from the other side too.

Manu made the tackle easy for smith
He just ran straight at him
Much more effective at 13 for me

yea to be fair they were warned in the 3rd minute by the ref that the next infringement would be a card

Shocking from brown on the tuilagi break. Manu got caught by a covering tackle, wow big deal. Arguably, Our two best players from the 6n care and brown prob our two worst players this half. Didn't think 36 was as bad as you think Geordie.
All to play for, benches might decide it.

Sounds like Manu on the wing hasn't been perfect. Think we all saw that. I'm beginning to think Kieran Read is more important to the ABs than I realised.
