With more experience they should get better.

There's a flattering scoreline for us. Well done to the all blacks. Ran us ragged in the 2nd half. Saved our best move of the match until injury time.

Does it flatter England? We largely controlled the first half. The Kiwis came alive in the second half.
Manu at centre for less than ten mins and creates the final try if the game. Mr Lancaster please take note.

Look, a winger on the wing, it works! Well done ABs. Too good in this game. I think England really needs to do two things - look again at selection, and look at how this affects our very narrow backline. From what I saw in the second half our backline defence was woeful. That and we didn't stop Kaino et al on the gainline.

Well done AB's. Some great rugby. England weren't good enough. Brown lucky to be awarded the Try in my opinion, Farrell unlucky to be carded. Good game.

What a fantastic game of rugby- All Blacks the deserved winners, but for England to fight back in a losing cause and the character they showed to stop that scoreline getting away from them was fantastic. I thought the All Blacks would hit a purple patch that England couldn't live with and they did in the first twenty minutes of the second half, but then England showed a level of character and defiance that I didn't anticipate- which all just added to a great game of rugby. Some great stuff from both sides.

Well done NZ. And England for keeping on going till the final whistle.
Twice in the last four years NZ has had winning runs halted at 16. Will it be third time lucky next weekend?

So another series in the bag for NZ. I didn't think the final score would be so close with 15-20 mins to go and the ABs on the rampage. Valiant effort from the English lads to come within 2 points of a win.

Good from England but after the first 10 mins New Zealand just seemed to be working there way back into the game. Second half was all NZ until they stepped off the gas in the last 10 mins. Once NZ put pressure on the English set piece and defended the mauls properly the game was up

That 2nd half from the ABs is what we're aiming for and for 80 minutes. Pace and accuracy. Well done boys, did us proud, even though we won by less this week. And I have to say, unlucky England you guys are on the right track. I bet SL is learning from these games so next week will be the same step up from T2 from you guys I bet.

Congratulations to NZ. Absolutely brilliant in the first 20 mins of the second half and ran us ragged.
Savea confirmed himself as the best wing in the world and the three Smiths all showing their class.
From an England perspective we lost our chance once again due to poor execution in the opposition 22 in the first half. We had a fair few chances which a more clinical side (namely the All Blacks!) would have finished. Extremely frustrating to continually see us lose our shape in those situations.
Congratulations to NZ on the series win

Funny to say that king, because I think the All Blacks also blew a few tries. Especially the one where Aaron Smith had Messam free on his right and didn't give it! Ah, it was so frustratingly unlike them! And then Conrad Smith put a pass into touch with Messam free in that corner again. Just wasn't the clinical edge we've come to expect from NZ.
But they did enough to win. One of the best test matches of the season for me as a neutral.

Well played NZ, just had a bit too much for us.
Looking at the match, first half score flattered New Zealand and the second half score flattered us.
I know it is boastful, but I think against any other team in the world we would be 2-0 up in the series after those two performances. Nobody else would be able to hit us with that 25-30 minute spell like the All Blacks did.
There is a bigger picture to look at here too. We've lost the series, but we play them FOUR times this year. If we win the last tour match and get them back to Twickenham in the Autumn, we could finish the year 2-2 against them.

Only 6 points in it after two tests
It's a great series by to sides quite evenly matched
The main difference is that when the all blacks are in the ascendancy they put their chances away
They have the cutting edge
Hopefully england will as experience grows

ABs stepping off the gas when two scores clear against England on home soil? Do me a favour: about as likely as Hannibal Lector's best selling vegetarian cook book.
This was a wonderful game rightly won by the better side but it takes two teams to make a spectacle. The final score 'flatters' England insofar as the contest was over numerically well before the end at 28-20. But with only one player under 30 in the match day squad (the ABs have 9) England should yet be well short of peaking.

really shows the importance of being match-sharp. 36 had a shocker, bad kicks, decisions, lines. Care also made quite a few uncharacteristic errors. lets hope that is out of their system by next week then!

thats probably the best attitude to take from this. The ABs one and only goal was to improve performance through lifting the accuracy and intensity. They did this for 20 minutes very successfully. Elsewhere the match was even. England need to either match that themselves or deny the ABs that period. The beginning and end were Englands for different reasons but theyre still tracking ahead well.

Another superb effort from England to show that the gap between them and the elite isn't that great.
In the end, New Zealand's greater experience and precision carried them over the line, but England will be taking lots of positives from this game and the tour as a whole.
Can't wait for next week where England have their best chance of winning!

ABs 'stepping off the gas' two scores clear against England on home soil when they really could rub our noses in it? Come off it: about as likely as Hannibal Lector's best selling vegetarian cook book.

But fair play to the ABs. No-one comes near them just now - hats off to them.

Re: England v New Zealand - Test 2 (14 Jun 2014)
Well done NZ, only had to really stitch it on for 30 mins but when you did you showed just how far ahead of us you are! Brilliant link play and offloading game from you boys. It really annoys me how the commentators go on about you boys getting little possession as if it's a victory for the opposition, not realising it's your gameplan to use just 30-40% and make the most of it.
England well what can you say? Story of our season so far, too sloppy, too rushed in attack and losing composure at key times. Worrying the set piece was pretty poor as well today. Most of the returning players were worse then their counterparts last week, in particular Wood, Parling, Care, Farrel and the centre's were all way below the level we need.
Parling should never be playing for England again, Twelvetrees as well should have played his last game. Wood was anonymous, Haskell added so much power and operated so well on the deck, Wood didn't do any of this. Burrell's tackling was poor and he was anonymous for most of it. Care and Farrel just didn't create anything.
Bit depressing, but this is the reality, after a week of the Sky hype machine getting into gear a lot of people were getting over the top about our chances this week. We did very well to get as close as we did but there were just too many unforced errors, far far too many.
England well what can you say? Story of our season so far, too sloppy, too rushed in attack and losing composure at key times. Worrying the set piece was pretty poor as well today. In the end, New Zealand's greater experience and precision carried them over the line, but England will be taking lots of positives from this game and the tour as a whole.
Can't wait for next week where England have their best chance of winning!

I know it is boastful, but I think against any other team in the world we would be 2-0 up in the series after those two performances. Nobody else would be able to hit us with that 25-30 minute spell like the All Blacks did.
This game does show that England are truely competitive but the all blacks ability to step up the pace and intensity for periods in the match without losing accuracy is unmatched anywhere in the world.
