US Open Day 6!
Ah the US Open, the tennis major where tennis is the side attraction. The crowd appear to be there for a natter whilst the tennis is on in the background, making for a rather unique atmosphere during the evening matches. In the past we've had fights, we've had frights and when the matches are played at night, they're played under the lights.
The Day 2 schedule is as follows:
Arthur Ashe Stadium (day)
Pennetta v Gibbs (really?)
Djokovic v Querrey
Williams v Lepchenko
Night
BZS v Bouchard
Kyrgios v Robredo
Louis Armstrong
Kvitova v Krunic
Murray v Kuznetsov
Kohlschreiber v Isner
Wawrinka v Kavcic
Grandstand
Estrella v Raonic
Vesnina v Azarenka
Tsonga v Carreno-Busta
doubles
Other matches of note:

Re: US Open Day 6!
Interesting matches,
Murray has a banana skin in Robin Haase, but it will be a good outing for him and tougher draws could actually help him get back his level and warm up well for the 2nd week.
Murray still in 3 or 4 sets, depends upon which Murray turns up.
Daniel vs Raonic, nice 1st round match, but Raonic's form meant it will be a straight set affair for Raonic.
Tsonga vs Monaco , a banana skin for Tsonga for sure, but given his form and Monaco's poor form it should still be straight sets for Tsonga.
Youzhny vs Kyrgios , wow a match and a superb setup for the youngster to prove something, Colonel is never easy for a non top-tener and Nick will have his work cut out.
Result is unpredictable, but I want the teenager to come through.
Bolelli vs Pospisil is interesting, Simon at his best is a poor man's Fed, and Vasek of late is troubling the current grandpa, with big serves and heavy groundstrokes Vasek should start as favourite but again the match is unpredictable.
I expect a 5 setter for sure here and it could easily be anybodies.
Any idea when Jack Sock is playing? is he playing tomorrow? to lazy to check the schedule

Today I think will be a tough match for Andy, could go 4 or 5 sets. He hates Armstrong, and struggles no matter who he plays.
Without wanting to hijack the other thread, it's purely a mental thing. It's just a tennis court - deal with it mAndy!

5 matches in progress, the first game in each goes to deuce. The first game of the tournament is won by Stakhovsky!

Murray will be on shortly, Sharon is currently like a Fich out of water against Radwanska.

Seppi has the break against Stakko, Benne got broken serving for the set vs Paire. Radwanska clearly has a hot lunch date, the way she's motoring.

Players are going for the 2nd serve these days. If Murray doesn't change it he will be a 8-16 player for the rest of his playing days.

What's the matter Andy? Can't decide which part of your body is hurting? Leg, shoulder, brain?

Maybe he should just retire.
James McGee is a break up in the first set of his match. At least there's some good news...

This has overtaken Murray v Sousa as the worst match I've ever seen.

Doesn't look like an injury, just cramp.
Will Andy be saying he needs to get fitter?

There's nothing wrong with him - it's "only" cramp.

Walking tennis! A new sport. (C) The Special Juan, 2014.
How can one of the fittest guys on tour be cramping and someone like Haase not be?

Comedy match, Haase showing why he's crashing down the rankings. I recall when he had a game.

Neither do i, Danny. Haase did not want to win the match either. I wonder what was in the bottle that Jez gave to the ball boy.
Wonder if HE was watching with a VooDoo doll in hand. (just kidding HE).

Re: US Open Day 6!
Well Stepanek has bitten the dust and Verdasco is in a very unnecessary 5 setter v Rola. Wawrinka is 3-0 up v Vesely and Robredo has had a stinker of a first round draw, landing EVR.
