US Open Day 6!

First topic message reminder :

Ah the US Open, the tennis major where tennis is the side attraction.  The crowd appear to be there for a natter whilst the tennis is on in the background, making for a rather unique atmosphere during the evening matches.  In the past we've had fights, we've had frights and when the matches are played at night, they're played under the lights.

Kuznetsov deserved the break but it was a bad game from Murray. 5-5.

Kuznetsov seems very error strewn to me, Andy playing well but Kuz is handing him the big points tbh.

Because if he wasn't playing doubles he'd have a shot at beating Fed?
I imagine the money is a factor in playing doubles as well.

Of course he doesn't stand a chance JHM, I mentioned "cakewalk" earlier, but his chance at being remotely competitive just took a further hit.

Some stunning streak of winners from Lapchenko in this one game, atleast 2 great winners even Serena couldn't believe.

Lapchenko should have one of the worst returns in the game, if not she should have broken Serena by now.

I can't take this Serena at all, she yells as if she won the war for her nation, and it was after all one game and she was already leading by a set.

What a shame Lapchenko lost the serve from 40-15 and having held the advantage twice, she had 4 points on her serve to go up 4-3 and now down 3-4.

I see we had 2 players Kohli and Raonic win with three 7-6 sets. Raonic actually broke serve 3 times, while Kohli won the match without breaking Isner's serve once, that must be fairly rare in best of 5 I would guess. Isner won more points in the match as well as more games (if we exclude tiebreaks).

I remember somebody compared Nick with Roanic and said he won't be much successful, can somebody point me to that comment I am searching for it.

Breaks Tommy's serve, then fires 4 aces in a row to hold serve and then goes 0-40 on Robredo's serve again and people still questioning his abilities.

Got stunning backhand, excellent Return an above world class serve, a damaging forehand, excellent volley skills, good decent movements all round the court, young , mentally strong and will to fight what else you need from a youngster?

2nd time in the match he hits 4 aces in a row to win a game, never seen Raonic hit anything liek that even on serve Nick will kick Roanic's ass.
