Yeah that definitely has a point and relevance. It shows how ludicrous a comment that is.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Could you point out where anybody has said United will finish higher than third?
We don't need to be amazing to come third because Liverpool and Arsenal have equally bad defences and you lot in particular don't have the same kind of firepower going forward. Ultimately Di Maria and Falcao are a big difference between the three sides if they can perform to their ceilings on a consistent basis, while you can always expect RVP or Rooney to go on a run at some point.
We've improved the central of our midfield massively too and the players we have brought in improve our first 11, they aren't just squad options.
I don't see anything outrageous in suggesting that a side that contains Di Maria, Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie with an improved all round first 11 managed by Van Gaal will finish higher than Arsenal and Liverpool. We have more room for improvement as these players become accustomed to the league than either of the other two, Arsenal haven't remedied any of their problems and Liverpool have bought a lot of squad options.

I doubt anyone would be massively surprised if United didnt finish above Arsenal or Liverpool either as they are relatively level sides.

Nice sensible post HH
A lot of truth in what your saying. Liverpool have got new defense we are currently 'bedding in', can't say for Arsenal as they have the same defense as last season and haven't even tried to improve.
On paper Di Maria, Falcao, Rooney, Van Persie and Mata Man U should be have a good season and will be up there. But its still early stages, I would like to see what Man U's start IX would be come Xmas time.

I might be completely delusional here but my gut feeling is that QPR won't go down. It's a big if, granted, but if they can gel I reckon they'll be a lower mid-table team come the end of season. Hughes has done well at Stoke so far too, hopefully they can carry it on.

arsenal, chelsea, man city, everton fixtures for villa coming up. can see that early momentum being lost quickly. Newcastle are terrible, id rather watch paint dry.
@mysti - I know, tell me about it! It's kind of like betting against Newcastle in an accumulator. you dont want to do it but sometimes it just has to be done.

I remember Robbie Fowler doing a similar thing to (ironically) Arsenal back in 94.
Although it wasn't even that quick!

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
These signings have been terrible, squad looks woeful. Bruce would be an idiot to take this but then he has always wanted to manage us. Moyes or Pulis would be the other two linked, Pulis would sort us out defensively & we'd scrap away from a relegation fight but the fans wouldn't want him. Total mess. This is the game a Ben Arfa would come on, excite the crowd & lift the team, unfortunately he's been loaned to Hull & enjoying watching the demise of the man who phased him out the club.

Pulls will never go to you john. He wants control on signings. Well he may but you would have to pay huge money for him. And I mean huge for the inconvenience of putting up with Ashley. He left palace because we couldn't sign a few players.

Shades of the 06 FA Cup final here. 3-3 it is then.
