Makes me laugh this debate. It's offside end off. No goal given. Accept it and move on.

I've always thought they should change the rule so that there has to be daylight between the last defender and attacker. You know like the whole ball has to cross the line.

Burnley v WBA is gonna be a rip snorter. Thinking 3-3.

I do like our record there. Something like never scored more than one goal in a game at Old Trafford and your lot have picked up 34 points from the last 36 available against us. We bend over in Manchester nearly as much as we do at Anfield

You deserved at least a point from the game yesterday, McNair saved us tbh.

Coming up to the end of September and Burnley have only scored once in the league. No surprise that they are, currently, at the foot of the table.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Boalisie has been a product of zaha leaving and now is becoming undroppable. Gutted he picked Nigeria he is improving ten fold each season. If he keeps this level of progression up he could have been a england fringe player.
Anyway. I realy feel for zaha as his potential is a lot better than puch and bolasie. But on the other hand as a palace fan. Having zaha pushing them to retain the places is only a good thing.
Campbell seems to be a decent replacement or improvment on Jerome.
Gayle like zaha. Top player that can't get in our side. Our squad is developing big time.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Some good games this weekend. Burnley look gone, I wonder if they'll beat Derby's record for least points in a season? They're well organised by Dyche, but just don't have that quality within the side.
United managed to get a good win there, Rooney's red card was a pain, but we have the quality in attack to deal with it. He'll be a loss for the Chelsea game, no doubt about it. I thought McNair came in and did a good job, our attack looked very good as expected but this week the defense also held out well despite going down to ten men. West Ham can count themselves unlucky with the offside goal, but if it was given you'd then say United were robbed.
Oh and Jagielka. What a goal.

still dont get the unlucky bit, yes it was tight but he WAS offside. its not unlucky to be caught offside when you are offside, its the players fault for going too early. and to clarify its any part of the body which can score a goal that can play you offside so whether it was his head or his big toe doesnt matter, its clearly in the rules and has been for a while

Have to agree.
As it was the Hammers lost through bad finishing. This evidence is based on MOTD only, btw.

To be fair Burnley are currently missing their two star strikers, most teams would struggle under those circumstances.

big game for both teams tonight, everybody is going on about Newcastle but stoke been poor this season. there start was very easy and they find themselves just above the relegation zone.
in there start they had villa, hull, Leicester, qpr and only got 2 points out of those games. there only win was city which was bit of a one off and wont happen too many times again this season.
hughes never convinced me as a manager, starts ok at places but his recruitment is pretty poor and his teams drop off after bright starts

Not sure you could criticise his time anywhere except QPR. Wales, Blackburn and Stoke he improved, City is a weird one to judge.
Can't argue with Arnautovic, Pieters, Diouf, Moses recruitment wise, whilst Sidwell and Bardsley are two very good frees

at city he wasted 100 of millions on the likes of santa cruz, kolo toure, robinho, wayne bridge, ben haim, jo, adebayor, adam johnsen. all of which were fairly major flops. he did have a couple of gems in there but for how much he spent the majority were failures.
qpr was similar, threw loads of money around and wasted nearly all of the money on rubbish signings.
very early to say if those signings are successful. arnautovic started well but has done nothing of note this season. none of the others have done great this season considering the poor start they have had
cant argue he did a good job at blackburn, but id wait before saying he has improved stoke seeing though there only just above the relegation zone at the moment (something they were never under any threat of under pullis)

Hughes did well that one season at Fulham although there was something a bit shady about why he left.

He got the City job when they were chasing the names and weren't a big deal. Of the signings you listed I'd say santa cruz, ben haim, jo, adebayor were "major flops". Robinho had a very good spell for one season and was sold after his poor spell. Major? Not a chance. Kolo was useful to them, as was Bridge. Johnson is not a major flop in as such he was young and British and a punt rather than a major deal.
He also signed Tevez (arguably their most important signing) and got shunted around like crap by a regime unsure of itself.
Stoke have played better, finished in a record position I think. Too early to say signings are successful but early enough to c*nt Hughes off about Stoke's start? Whatever suits the prose.
QPR was a blip and the whole club was a mess. Harry has been as bad a manager if not worse really.

Stoke away tonight for the Toon. Early goal for Hughes' men & I fear it will be a long night & then Sky cameras panning to the crowd chants of Pardew 'out in the morning'.
If there was ever time for Cabella to start producing, it's now. Be interesting to see if Armstrong features. We need a win.....urgently.

robinho wasnt a Major flop?!!
club record signing at the time, had a ok first half a season at best, then went totally missing for the rest of his time at the club, well worth 33 mil that!!. even the city fans admit he was a bit cack.

Hughes gets a rough deal from a lot of sources.
Did a good job with Wales, Blackburn, Fulham and now Stoke. He was on a hiding to nothing with city - the existing managers never last when these wealthy regimes take over.
He was terrible with QPR.
No real difference to a huge number of managers in the game but for some reason he takes a lot of stick.

Too easy for him, unmarked, free jump - no pressure on the cross.
Stoke will win handsomely if Newcastle keep defending like that.

Its been about 40 gams since the toon played well.
Gone from a top 8 team to the at best a top 30. They would struggle in the champs.
Can this all be about that one French player ?

Let's face it currently your being dominated by Moses,Ireland & Crouch. It doesn't get much worse as a combo then that. Something seriously wrong at Newcastle. Your defense seems decent enough it's the 6 in front the issue. You seem to lack pace barring Sissoko & creativeness although you have that in Cabella but you keep playing him LW well today anyway.
