Bennett is having a bit of a shocker. Hope he gets into his stride soon.
Re: Scotland v Argentina, 8 November
For all those who were wondering if Russell was ready for international rugby. I don't think that is a debate we need to be having any longer!

Mark of Nazareth needs to settle his pants down or Dunbar will be having that 13 shirt again when Matt Scott comes back

Probably a little bit strong. He would have had a try there if Gray had passed, was in the right place. Its his first international so cut he a little bit of slack and judge him at the end

Perhaps you're right, just keen for him to have confidence building moment and I think he'll kick on from there.

First half review:
great from the grays in all aspects of play.
Finn Russell looking good
Ross ford doing the basics right
Bennett needs some nerve settling runs
Laidlaw looking sharp
Ashe doing some good ball carrying

Again don't agree, always take the points. This is an international match, not Glasgow chasing a bonus point. just keep the score board ticking over and win the game. That's all that matters

I'm refusing to get carried away. Yes, refusing.
Not counting my chickens. Not at all.
I mean, this can't possibly be Scotland we're watching, right?

Re: Scotland v Argentina, 8 November
Very happy with that first half
Penalty for coming in from the side was harsh for the Argentinians. Surely you can only be pinged for coming in from the side once a ruck has formed!? the penalised player looked to be the first arriving player.

Can't believe we've got a try from a tap and go, what must old Alan Solomons be making of that?!
A completely different level of ambition to anything we've seen in a long time. Sure not everything is coming off, but that will come with time and settled combinations. We REALLY need to back it up with a strong second half now

I don't agree :-) we are dominant our line outs are working well and we can run down the click to half time. We needed to kick for the corner pull in their forwards and spin it wide.

Don't forget this is Scotland we're talking about, turning down opportunities for points is a dangerous game!

Laidlaw slipping into old habits there, I could've done some mild embroidery in the time it took him to get that box kick away

Re: Scotland v Argentina, 8 November
You have to say the selection looks absolutely spot on. All the slightly controversial picks, Cowan, Ashe, Russell and Laidlaw have played very well. Maybe VC does know a thing or two about rugby after all!

Dunbar is our best openside by a mile! Every ruck and maul he makes a nuisance of himself. I count at least 2 turnovers by him.

Hey, listen. If Big Jim doesn't want to run, then Big Jim isn't running.
Bet Cotter is wishing they hadn't corrected the typo and it was Swinson on the bench after all.

Bonkers second 40.
Weir clearly mistaking himself for Finn Russell there. Or a Fijian of some sort.

Re: Scotland v Argentina, 8 November
So. What have we learned?
Finn Russell looks good for the future
Ross ford was consistent at doing the basics
Mark Bennett was like a rabbit in the headlights. Schitz would be so dissapointed.
Cotter doesn't need to empty the bench. Laidlaw and Russell were doing fine. Russell in particular. Meatball was just mince from the moment he came on
Wayne Barnes, even with video replay, can't ref for toffee.

I'm feeling more conflicted than a diabetic in a sweetie shop.
I mean, Christ on a bendy bus, we were simply fantastic! But... 41-17 looks an awful lot better than 41-31.
