Celebrating like you've won the cup, when you've only won a quarter final - my how far Villa have fallen. Two sendings off, first one was a shocker but from the referees angle you can understand if he thinks Yacob has left the floor and come down two footed, and Bacuna reacted like a tart, the second was a red card and why anyone would do that on a yellow card begs belief.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Funnily enough, I was slated by a lot of fans for saying that Bony won't be a good move to City and that Sinclair is a quality player that doesn't play football at City and I said Bony will end up the same way.
I know its early days but all of you that criticised me on the football board (I'm looking at you LiamB, Hammersmith and John) shove that up where the sun doesn't shine!
Sinclair has been very good since joining Villa and is showing his true qualities and so far Bony has failed to deliver any sort of impact on that City side. Again, very early days but its satisfying enough to tell you to stick that up yours you 3 in particular.

Agree the first part. Stupid from our fans.
Its been a while since we have been to wembley, and are having a poor season, so, don't condone running on the pitch before full time. Just stupid in fairness, but we all excited to get back.
Agree Yacub shouldn't have gone. I was shouting at Bacuna as to why he didn't win the tackle .
Don't agree with Grealish sending off.

Surely Sinclair is doing what Bony did. Looking good in an average side, but looking/looked out of depth in a good one?
I do agree about Bony though.

Everyone on here myself included said that Bony moving to City wouldn't work out, it never does for players of his ability, he's just not good enough and everyone also said Sinclair had wasted his career at City. So not entirely sure how a few games in isolation prove you to know more than the square root of zero you actually know, the signings of these two players wasn't exactly rocket science.

What don't you agree with Westi? He didn't have to avoid a tackle because Lescott went in front of him, he went down to get a foul through no contact. Great call by the referee when it would have been easier to let it go.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Bony to City reminds me very much of Remy to Chelsea. Both fringe players and not top tier quality.
Sinclair needs a bit more than a purple patch to convince me he's turned a corner. Not that he was all that in the first place. Villa might be a good fit for him ultimately though.

Shut up. You'll do anything to prove yourself right. You and John especially gave me a rollicking for thinking that Bony would be a flop, now it has come too it, I'm right and you are wrong at this moment in time. You were both calling Sinclair "gash" I seem to believe when I said he is a good player. So stop trying to defend yourself now when it has all come crashing down on you.

Keep telling yourself, you're an odd little character aren't you, one of those kids who craved his mothers attention but never got it and to be honest it takes more than 5 weeks to be proved right or wrong.
I said Fletcher would be an important signing for West Brom and would be vital in them avoiding relegation, at the moment that looks an alright prediction but it's not yet right.

I've always liked Scott Sinclair, he was out of his dept though at City I must admit and his loan spell at West Brom was hardly brilliant.
But his 2011/12 season at Swansea he was unreal. Good player if coached and placed in a correct formation.

Never been much of a fan, he's alright and that's about it. When you aren't needed in a side cos Dyer and Routledge then you aren't exactly a huge talent. Looked confident today and that'll be key to anything he does at Villa

Westy - just watched MOTD, didn't know the score before. Well, you got your 2 wins today!
Always difficult to judge a game on just a few highlights but thought Given came in and did his job well when required. Massive power from Delph in his goal scoring shot as well.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
I can't believe Sinclair did that to us after his total no show last season, unreal, he didn't even look like he wanted to be a footballer last season.
Pretty poor fare from the villa stewards/police at the end. Too busy pointing their camera at the 1000 or so Albion fans left at the end than the 10,000 villa fans on the pitch behind them. Was a bit over the top really, especially the fans who ran over in front of us giving the v's, taking their shirts off, kidding the badge etc. all I ever hear from my villa mates is how they don't care about us, tonight would suggest otherwise
Wouldn't be surprised if they did do something to McManaman as quite a few if the fans who invaded at full time were getting in Lescott's face.
Haven't seen Yacob's 2nd yellow but considering the ref played on for 30 seconds after, then it clearly wasn't that bad. peed off but I did get on tv(before the game I must add!)

Yeah as said before the fans let the club down.
Other fans have and will do the same in the future.
Not the best idea to have a derby at half 5.
I know its tv, but could have had this as the earlier game.
Guildford mate. Good day sporting wise.

Really good result for Blackburn. One they will be pleased with for sure. They fought hard and well and thoroughly deserve their replay. Chance to go for it at Ewood Park. Gestede is a tough character to handle and especially if Blackburn go to a 4-4-2 at home, I struggle to see just whereabouts Liverpool are going to stop Rhodes and Gestede for me.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
If they can keep premier league strikers quiet, which they have done for a long period now, then it shouldn't be any harder keeping them quiet. Skrtel will hopefully be back after being given the all clear, and Sahko is returning to form which will certainly help. Honestly, I felt Blackburn got more joy today because Johnson was playing and every time steps on to the field our defense looks ten times worse.

Either way, Liverpool haven't really played against a big physical striker too much and without Skrtel obviously it became a lot harder because Lovren, Johnson and Can aren't as strong at winning headers like him.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Gestede has 15 and Rhodes has 13. 28 between them this season in 15 or so games, that's quite a good record and obviously Rhodes being the poacher he is feeds off Gestede's flick ons and uses Gestede's physical prowess to fed off scraps or 2nd balls so that they can link up.

Feel that a back 3 of Can Skrtle Sahko will always handle any type of threat better than a defence with Johnson/Lovren in it! Thoroughly disappointed with our performance today, looked a long way from the team who just beat city! While I would still make us favourites to progress, we have just added one more game to our schedule and we really didn't need that! Not with the games we have coming up.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Only 4 of the 24 teams in the division have more goals between their top 2 strikers than what Blackburn do.
Only Bournemouth (Wilson 18 + Kermogant 13 = 31), Watford (Ighalo 17 + Deeney 16 = 33), Norwich (Jerome 17 + Grabban 12 = 29) and Ipswich (Murphy 22 + McGoldrick 7 = 29) have got a better top 2 goalscorers than Blackburn (Gestede 15 + Rhodes 13 = 28). I think a couple of teams have equal them as well but if we went off the top 2 goalscorers this season Blackburn would be 5th. That's not bad considering the teams above them bar Ipswich are in the top 6 and banging in the goals from left, right and centre (and even Ipswich are 7th).

The point is that Liverpool finished second in the Orem last year and Blackburn are in the championship in no man's land.
They're a decent pair but not to the point Liverpool will fear them

It actually hurts my head to try figure out how you think a pair of strikers who play for a mid table Championship club will destroy a defence that's been really solid in 2015

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
I'm not saying they will tear Liverpool to shreds, but what I am saying is they will be a threat and although I'm not a Blackburn fan myself, I'm sure the Rovers fans will feel disrespected to think that them 2 couldn't both cause a problem for Liverpool. Gestede was hard enough to handle for Liverpool as it was, throw Rhodes in there ands they could do something, albeit Liverpool will have Skrtel back but its still quite harsh to say that Liverpool will be comfortable. They might well be expectedly, but I'm just putting it out there that Gestede and Rhodes could cause that Liverpool defence some problems.
