Happy Mondays classics, early Fratellis and Razorlight's first album. I could handle that

As it's a bit quiet today I thought I'd give everyone a QOTD...it's a spin on one I've asked before but:
If WWE creative took control of 6CW, what would the place look like? Who would be the World Champion and where would your character(s) be?

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
My answer:
I reckon at Night Of Glory we'd be looking at the main event of World Champion JJ Johnson taking on Gateway To Glory winner Anthony Grace...WWE would want to cash in on their marketability. This by the way isn't saying that JJ v Grace wouldn't be awesome as both guys promos would be amazing to see but in a kayefabe sense it's who I'd picture being given the nod.
As for The Death Squad I'd picture them getting a massive push as the evil foreigners before having a home team go over them...a bit like where they're heading with Rusev and John Cena.
Wood would probably be in a similar spot and used in a sort of Dolph Ziggler/Daniel Bryan style slot...he'd give the indie/smark fans hope just before Vince broke their hearts haha

Errrr.....because of the comparisons to Cena, you know full well who would be number 1 man. I know WWE would book the GazzyD and Adamson feud all wrong. Christy would be dressed like a prozzy

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
I think it was bound to happen because in the end of it, it's just a kick...it's like the leg drop...it just doesn't make sense to be a finisher anymore. That being said when the right person hits it (eg. Shawn Michaels) then people will suspend belief and just cheer because of who it is...
It's like the People's Elbow, it's a stupid finisher but because of who hits it it works...there are loads of finishers I hate actually.

I think it's the evolution of wrestling. As time goes on, more innovative moves will be created and older ones, even finishers, will be the norm.
Best example is the DDT. When Jake did the move, it was rightly viewed as devastating at the time. Now pretty much all matches contain one.

Morning all - It always amazes me the punishment that a lot of the guys take, through tables the lot and then they are finished by a leg drop or a simple suplex
I don't really like the idea of a 'finisher' unless it is a submission move then yes you can understand why they tap out but really how many finishers now a-days are that devastating you can genuinely understand why somebody couldn't kick out of it?

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
I can think of two.....F5 and Jumping Tombstone.
Sweet Chin Music used to be another but the move has been diluted. Perhaps the Jackhammer as well, at a push.
Already mentioned DDT, but only in late 80's. Bret Hart's piledriver of the late 80's was also devastating.
Basically it has to be a move at speed where the opponent is hit or lands on their head. Moves like AA and Shellshock are out. Even the Chokeslam doesn't look as vicious.
Of the submissions, the Crippler Crossface was the best and you can argue the Kimara is the best of today.

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
If done properly Cena's STF is a believeable finisher. But that's the problem, it's rarely done properly!
I always thought RVD's Frog Splash trumped anyone else's splash in terms of being impactful and devastating.

Cena doesn't do anything properly
I preferred Eddies frog splash if I'm honest but can see how the move would be one that is genuinely painful - My favourite submission of all time is the sharpshooter

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
I always liked D-Lo Brown's, Lo Down splash myself. Thought it was a harder type of frog splash with the theatrics he used mid-air.
Any "big man" moonsault was really good. Hugh Morris and Big Van Vader's were immense.
I suppose the most believable move ever, in terms of not being able to kick out, would be the Banzai Splash.

Finishers that no one can argue against? Omega Driver or Steiner Screwdriver are probably the ultimate ones for me.
I always find it weird how moves like a superplex or even a Full Nelson Suplex are seen as less effective than an AA or the Rock Bottom.

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
Orton has shown real creativity with the RKO at times. It's arguably the best finisher in wrestling as it's fast, adaptable and believable. The curb stomp isn't visually fantastic but is realistically brutal.
The worst has always been the 619.

To be fair, the 619 was never a finisher, more a setup for the Westcoast Pop.

I suppose I'm judging him on his later years when he either couldn't or just didn't hit that any more. He did used to drop off the top rope (which for some reason in my head I am calling spend a penny even though I know it isn't that and I know what that means) but I always thought there must be fairly few moves in wrestling that hurt less than Rey Mysterio falling on you

Drop the Dime? Like a falling splash. Either way, the 619 was only half the finisher.

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
Reys best finisher has always been the Frankensteiner he used in WCW. Simply because it relied on the other guys selling to make it believable.
Problem with the 619 is he gets opponents into a position that we very rarely see out of Mysterio matches.
Orton's RKO is certainly something he has made his own, with the mannerisms beforehand and the variety of ways he can hit it.

I like how versatile the RKO is but I've always thought that it's one of those things that would hurt you just as much as the person you do it to.

Having flattened a mate of mine with it I can tell you this isnt the case. Although my technique was slightly worse than Randy's and my mate was very drunk so didnt sell it perfectly.
The stunner was always decent, and the pedigree is easy to justify. The GTS isnt perfect visually but easy to sell on why it hurts, and its a shame Itami doesnt seem to do it (although I've missed recent NXT's so cant say that as fact). Tis unsurprisingly the inspiration for Hurst's Washboard Stomach

Re: 6CW Chat V.2
From what I've seen of NXT they keep having Hideo set it up but then have it broken up before he hits the GTS. The GTS is also obviously the inspiration for Wood's World Eater although I mixed it in with Cesaro's Pop up Uppercut.
Punches as finishers for me are weird because it just makes me wonder why not just hit it straight away...like the running versions like the Bullhammer are a bit more justified but Big Show's KO Punch has always confused me.

That'll work well, could get a big pop in a big match. Would be great if they saved it for the main roster but they dont have the patience for something like that on the big shows
I hate the Bullhammer and hate the KO as finishers. Chokeslams are a solid finisher and seem to have been forgotten a bit.

I've been thinking of ways to get more people involved and talking and I have a good idea that I'm stealing from the Wrestling section on here...after the next show/once we have a fully confirmed card for D.O.R I'll be setting up a prediction's thread that we can run from now until the end of 2015.
Just putting it out there, who's interested?
I'm only asking now as some of us end up taking matches for the PPV's so we can get our predictions in early before knowing any results...
...oh and JJ/Paul I'm sorry but you can't enter

I like the idea of having non-members getting involved...like I know Nando keeps an eye out so maybe it could get a bit of healthy competition going. The next show is the last before D.O.R right?
Once the full card is up I'll put up a prediction thread with the rules...need to work out a way that people can take matches to write but can still get points as to not miss out on possible points.

Sweet, I'll get the prediction card up on Friday night after the show and hopefully that will give match writers time to predict without getting to know the results of certain matches.
Will also hopefully have the PPV poster finished by the next show as well...left this one a bit late.

And while I'm here...
QOTD: On Friday someone will become the bookies favourite when they snatch the number 30 spot for the Gateway To Glory match...out of the men involved who would YOU book it as?
Personally I'd give it to Joshua, imagine knowing that the last man to walk out is the biggest monster in the fed at the moment. Might sound weird but I actually don't want Wood to win it, I want Wood in early so that he's involved in loads of the match haha

Will be like the Rumble.....just need some former huge 6CW star to come out and endorse him. Holding Grace's arm aloft to cheers and boos!
Keith Leone might be a good shout for that role.

Only problem if Joshua was to win number 30, if he entered at 30 and then never won the G2G then he'd look a bit pants, unless of course he left a path of destruction and then eliminated himself
