The ref was awful, was randomly calling fouls for both sides and his yellow cards seemed to have no rhyme or reason.

The winter break would just mean you'd have a whole backlog of games at the end of the season anyways, especially for the top sides who'll be in most cups to

Two points dropped for Chelsea.
Utterly dominant but no second goal to show for it. Referee needs to lay off the mulled wine.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Easy for Germany, as their league has 34 games, working on the matchweek principle, by definition, they have four free bye matchweeks when EPL doesn't.
Only real problem, I suppose with the Christmas set up in a world cup year, is that despite playing a crazy schedule in Christmas, EPL finishes roughly the same time as La Liga and Bundesliga. Which indicates that maybe the "breaks", and I use that term very loosely, in the EPL aren't designed for players to have much left in the tank at the end of May.
Worth noting though, that Ozil of all people ran a solid 2km more than anyone else in the world cup final, so maybe it really is just about desire, talent and a can do attitude

Some decent work from Bojan in the build up. Big player/small club suits him a lot.

Yesssss! Cracking win & much needed for the Toon. Sissoko, Cisse & Perez all producing the goods, anyone see Rivière's miss off the post, truly shocking signing.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
I thought he would have been a good signing but he's done little of note so far, having said that it was tough to adjust his feet enough, that ball really cannoned off the post.
Well deserved though, really like Perez, he offers something different besides his goals.

with Sherwood/Popovic & Vitor Pereira other with low odds. Personally id go with Pereira he's tactically awesome for a foreign manager. It's no coincidence that Porto has struggled more then usual since he's left...

Alan Pardew refused to speak to press following the win at St James’ Park, fuelling the Newcastle United manager’s link with the vacant Crystal Palace job.
Pardew would not speak to television, radio or print journalists after Newcastle’s 3-2 win over Everton, with the North East club saying the 53-year-old was simply ‘unavailable’.

Hands off my Alan, you hear?
Be surprised if he left us for Palace. He's done a good job for us, but maybe he's taken us a far as he can.

I like Barkley, great potential, but he's miles away from being at the level some people or the media think he's at. Loses the ball too often & no discipline, hence why Roy doesn't trust him & Martinez only plays him in bits & pieces.
