Bog off Fly. I don't have a tattoo. I have pierced ears... But no tattoos. I wanted one in high school, but my dad said no, then I went to rugby practise.

Surprisingly solid performance on University Challenge tonight, the music round was kind to me and one of the picture rounds was doable. Disappointing number of opportunities to say Caravaggio as an answer though.

I had a nightmare, ended up bathing instead where it's easy to blurt out the answer when you're certain without being visibly ignorant when you don't know.

Had another result with the pub/restaurant earlier though, went with Galtova this time and they don't serve food on Mondays.  Ended up at another pub/restaurant and only had to fork out £33.20, a potential saving of £26.80.

Raf, the old man told me a story when he was on the Oder in Jan-Feb '45. They'd just been smashed by one of the Russian pincers.

One of the officers grabbed the guy, held a knife to his throat and said something like"... well you can tell the Fuhrer to come here himself and show us what he means..." There was a bit of a scuffle. I think someone was killed. The SS guy? Not sure. Turns out that Hitler was so deluded by that stage he thought they (and some non-existent Division) would help form part of the defensive ring around Berlin. Luckily, the senior person in charge stalled the decision (executable offense) and they were swept aside and cut off anyway. That hesitation saved their lives.
