Re: 6N Round 1: France v Scotland, 7 February
Has Seymour played 15 at all for Glasgow? I don't remember it.
He'll have the positional awareness and skills - wingers cover at fullback when the fullback is out the line - but I've never really seen him kick for territory, which is a big part of an International fullback's game.
I'd prefer Tonks, even though he's being playing at 10 recently.

Its about getting your best players on the pitch why we end up with players out of position. Shlong tho FFS -does he have detailed blackmail files on the SRU? No one tries harder but no 90 cap players have so little talent.

iot really does amuse me the scots threads - a fair bit of good rugby knoledge, little infighting, loads of ridiculous digressions to bump up the post count.

So to paraphrase Fes; play the Glasgow 15. If he's unfit play the other Glasgow 15. If he's not fit play the third choice Glasgow 15. If he's not fit and if you really need to have a full back take one of the Luvvies, doesn't matter which one.
Has Schiz hijacked your account by any chance?
Or has the second under butler gained access to the communications hub?

Why isn't Fife being mentioned? Didn't he play FB for Currie?

Re: 6N Round 1: France v Scotland, 7 February
Fife might be unfairly impacted by the Wales match from last year when he had to cover wing/fullback.
If it was Visser, Lamont and Seymour that leaves Scotland pretty short for kicking options. Visser is the only one out of those I see kick semi-frequently though maybe that's due to Embra's tactics under Solomons. The French have definitely got the edge in the back 3 though if that's how the lineup will be.

Apparently they are recalling Bruce Douglas and he's going to be playing on the wing!

Cuthbert at FB? OK he is a bit of an oil tanker but he has improved his reputation over the last season at Edinburgh.

Cotter said he will be picking from the current squad, so Murchie and Cuthbert aren't viable options unless there are more injuries.

Onto out team. We seem to be utterly hamstrung by our options at Blindside and number 8. Brown's non selection and Dozer's injury couldn't have come at a worse time to be honest.

Re: 6N Round 1: France v Scotland, 7 February
If Seymour was to play at FB and you can see how he could be a devastating open field runner, then maybe Fyfe and Visser will play on the wings. DF has looked pretty good all season and would be ahead of SL in my pecking order. I could see Tonks and Lamont being the bench options as they cover the whole back line. Matt Scott may not even be in the 23, which sounds unbelievable but on form is probably about right. He will get some game time though, there are bound to be some injuries at some stage.

Fullback is a bit of a dilemma. GC, is your Uncle Dougie free next weekend? Or is he flyering for UKIP again?

Our first choice 15 is Jack Cuthbert. I'd probably select Al Kellock at 15 ahead of him. Better under the high ball, marginally quicker and the leadership, oh the leadership.....

Beattie is fit and in the squad and I'm not sure there's a big gap between Denton and Beattie. We do really need Harley to be fit though.

Aye, Denton and Beattie are a similar standard. Not that big a loss losing dozer and getting the JB Jnr. Both are fine players! They are no Ally Hogg but sufficient!

That's commitment to the cause, putting in your diary that you won't learn French that day. Can't have it happening by accident now!

I was at Murrayfield in 2008, for the match against the Auld Enemy.
Jason came on as a second half sub, VERY charged up and ready. Paul Sackey (I think) took an inside run off his wing, and you could see he fancied his chances. He hadn't however seen our man Jason, who introduced himself, it appeared, around halfway.
When Paul landed, he was back over his 10m line. Very effective, and you could see our boys grow and the rose boys demeanour visibly wilt in the fine fresh spring air. Beautiful.

Re: 6N Round 1: France v Scotland, 7 February
Loann Stud - that is a great name.
Lopez and Tales - France finally look to be sorting out their issues at 10, and form or not form, Fofana and Bastereaud will give us problems, as will that back three.
Praying to God that Harley and Hogg are fit to start. The Gray brothers together at lock and Harley at 6 forms the core of the pack, and will make life difficult for France.

it doesnt mean that those players will be the final squad though !
some needed game time (Dumoulin) so might/should come back (need another centre anyway) and there is also 3 tightheads in that list so one would have to go while someone like Tillous Bordes could also be in the final squad if he recovers.
also what's with the dodgy translatation

Re: 6N Round 1: France v Scotland, 7 February
From that 23 the back 5 picks itself. On current form Dunbar-Bennett are a match for Bastareaud-Fofana. If we're up quick on the walking wardrobe we can stop the ball getting out to their back three IF we have a back row that can compete. Harley-Beattie-Cowan could do that job, but if JB has been with his club this week I wonder who has been training at 8.
If we can stop their back row getting quick ball out they will have to start kicking to our back three. If that's Seymour-Hogg-McVisser then we could be in for a jolly evening in front of the telly. However, Schlong-Tonks-Fife and it might be a long old night.
Maestri-Pape versus Gray and Gray? I see us being competitive to say the least. Harley and Beattie would also offer options at the back of the line out.
We can win this.

it doesnt mean that those players will be the final squad though !
some needed game time (Dumoulin) so might/should come back (need another centre anyway) and there is also 3 tightheads in that list so one would have to go while someone like Tillous Bordes could also be in the final squad if he recovers.

Got to love traditional French boys' names.

Teddy sounds like he would be at home in the Stockbridge Lawn Tennis Club with FES.

We have two Teddy's in the club. Teddy Picklesworth and Teddy Farquarson-Smythe. I can vouch for them both - tippy top fellows.

You do know these things are commonly used on social media by scammers to hack into people's accounts - first pet and maiden name are common security questions!

Luckily for me they are not my security questions on any of my accounts. Mine is "what was your favourite subject at school?" - Home economics, obviously.
Anyway, to hack into my Coutts account you need a thumb print and retina scan. None of this online nonsense.

James Gailes. Really dull.
As an aside, there really is a street in Oxford very close to where I used to live called 'Squitchey Lane'. Really. Squitchey Lane.
I love it.

Kinda ready for it now, its the waiting that's torture. A new 6 nations is like a wrapped present on x-mas morn, all full of promise and mystery.
There's nothing like waking up hungover on a Saturday morning, realizing that the games start in two hours and you have to get to the pub for 1

Ryan Grant has been added to the Scotland squad.
He's served his time on the naughty step.

Besides, unless you unhook his mask, you need someone like Bane in the scrum.RDW_Scotland wrote:Ryan Grant has been added to the Scotland squad.
