Andy has to be more serious with that second serve.

Djokovic showing his hand. He is taking the incentive on the 2nd serve.
Makes the first the more important. Which Andy finds 2 at deuce.

That was brilliant from Andy.
Went aggressive on those 1st serves. Fantastic!
However, Djokovic showed some metal there. Saving 3 BPs. Andy let him off going back in his shell.

How many breaks are the linesman going to cheat Djokovic out of when blasts returns off the back line. High level so far

Djokovic currently 11-0 on winners-UEs. Unreal tennis.

Not today mate. I'm still in shock from the Wawrinka meltdown. Was beginning to imagine how to spend the money from my 11/1 bet when he had break points in the first game of the fifth. I'm still slightly in tears just thinking about it. Made a tidy profit from this Open, and I'll live with that.
There's also the tiny matter of me thinking Djokovic will win, and not being able to bet on Djokovic because I'd rather Jahbulon took my soul.

Ooooooow it was there for Novak that FH.
Then pow follows it in the next serve.
Advantage Novak.

Andy has just got to hang in here. Even Novak can't play like this for a whole match.

Scary start from Djokovic.
Murray needs to hang in there and take the chances if they come.

When Novak Djokovic hits his peak level of play, he is truly a class apart. Perhaps only Rafael Nadal on clay can beat him, otherwise the brilliant Serbian is peerless.

Two firsts in that game. Andy won his first 2nd point and Djokovic hit his first UE.
Indeed socal. Not seen Novak fly out of the blocks like this in an age. It's scary.

Rafa is a good match up against Djokovic over five sets because he drags games out long enough for Djokovic to eventually tail off. He maintains his level and Djokovic's fluctuations make for a very good and interesting match up. Everyone else not named Stan though, sees flames when Djokovic is in this mood

True regarding Novak vs Rafael. But that's also in part to Rafa having a staggering level of fitness.kingraf wrote:Rafa is a good match up against Djokovic over five sets because he drags games out long enough for Djokovic to eventually tail off. Lk honestly can't see him holding this kind of form up to be honest over 5 sets, starting to let some errors come now.

I don't think so, I still think Fed's peak is above that of Novak's. I happen to think both Fed and Rafa at their respective peaks could deal with this Novak at his peak - the Fed of 2004-2007 and the Rafa of 2009 AO and 2010 USO. Murray is not up to that level yet, I feel, partly because of not as much big match experiences.

A gift from Djokovic.
Still danger looms. I expect Novak to go on the attack this next return game.

Beloved, please do not put Djoko on same sentance with Fed.
Fed used to be on a different planet from Djoko, with only Nadal able to slap him.
