actually, england, ireland and wales are all better this year, imo. both ireland and wales won away against france. much bigger deal than winning at home last year.
both have put in good performances in all matches. wales played well against england, france and ireland, england just played out of their socks for 50 minutes.
ireland played well against england, france and wales, but wales just played out of their socks for 50 minutes.
their have been no cr4p games, which is very unusual for a 6N.
i also think Scotland are a lot better this year than last, apart from their brainfart against italy.
and france too look on the cusp of being dangerous. or maybe not.
lots of people have suggested to me that i should be in politics. however, as i'm sure you noticed, diplomacy and compromise are not in my playbook.

Go away quins. Ireland are shyte and Wales proved it.
We were a one trick pony found out by the whizz jinx of Wales. Our goose has been cooked QED
England still have hope against the Red Growing Tide of Menace Rising from the West Again. But they need to find teeth for their Greyhounds. No point in having attack without getting over the line (and not hitting posts)
Easy to fix but is the right coach in camp to fix it - before the Beagles of the Press run him out of town?
Wales are again European Kings of their own destiny. Lord Help Us All. They do love ever so much to r*** and Pillage when in this mood. No quarter given.

quins i just dont see ho w en gland have improved on last year…after benign cruelly robbed by France in th opener they went on to a first triple crown in ? years….this year they start off by exceeding expectations in Cardiff and then look ordinary against Italy, lose to Ireland and then look lethargic v Scotland.
Ireland have also slipped up but largely due to one man (Sexton not Barnes) and Wales have done what they really always do, which is improve as the tournament goes on albeit with the massive caveat that they were terrible v England.
For me Wales remain on their roller coaster, Ireland have erred and England are in the desert sniffing a pile of the smelly stuff that Secretfly is bathing in.

Against Ireland we were slightly worse, they were slightly better and they had home advantage.
Overall I think we have improved slightly - but over the last four years perhaps not by as much as we should, and the problem is in the backs.
At SH Care and Youngs have fallen in and out of form, and have missed matches because of either injury or discipline.
At FH we spent 3 years developing Owen Farrell (who remember looked pretty good with the Lions) and then he got broke. Ford was 17 when Lancaster took over.
In the centres Barritt and Tuilagi would have been first choice pretty much throughout, but injuries kiboshed that and we have seen so many permutations. Burrell was merely making up numbers at Sale in Bomber's first season while JJ has had two rather poor seasons at club level during his tenure and is still young.
On the wing we have chopped and changed as players have fallen in and out of form. The current wingers Nowell and Watson were 17 and 16 when Lancaster took the reins.
It is not doom and gloom, but we have not progressed anywhere near as fast as I would have liked.
I think this is a pretty accurate summary. Lancaster gets accused of chopping and changing but he's actually been very consistent. Even now, amid the calls for him to pick a settled side, he's being asked to blood Slade, reintroduce Wade and give Cipriani more game time.
The only real blind alley he went down was Joel Tomkins in the 2013 Autumn Internationals. Joseph was off the pace at the time, and those who wanted to see Burrell or Eastmond in the side mostly wanted them at inside centre in place of Twelvetrees, so even that selection had a logic to it at the time.
