Transfer thread
First topic message reminder :
Given that we have a gossip thread I thought it would be fitting to have a thread for transfers that go through. This can be any league domestically or world wide. Please make sure they have been confirmed before posting them if they haven't been confirmed they are gossip and belong on the gossip column.

Been reported on the BBC Sport page that Swansea and Watford have a agreed a Swansea transfer record breaking fee of 3.5million for Danny Graham.
Can he cut it at the highest level?

Brendan Rogers clearly won't be happy until he's completely raped Watford of all their decent players. Judas' betrayal continues. £3.5 million is a good fee though. If Villa sell Ashley Young for a decent fee also, then Watford's financial position will be quite nice this summer.
I think Graham can cut it at the highest level. His hold-up play is tremendous and he's superb in front of goal. He works harder than most strikers I have seen, always getting back when needed then looking for the counter attack. His play will suit Swansea's style (as it is the Watford style that Brendan Rogers implemented). At times this season he has carried Watford single-handedly over the line in some games.
I was at his final home game of the season for Watford, a game that meant nothing, and as soon as the full time whistle blew he literally collapsed with exhaustion. He leaves absolutely nothing in the dressing room.
It's been an absolute priveledge to watch him the past two season and he deserves to be promoted with or without Watford. I just wish it wasn't to join Judas.
Good luck Danny!

Re: Transfer thread
Taking a wild guess you are a Watford fan ED?
Yeah, I've got to agree that at times it seemed Graham did single handedly win games for Watford last season and his work ethic cannot be questioned. I only asked whether he could cut it because I am not sure how is scoring stats have been over previous seasons. Has he always been as prolific as he was this season?

Re: Transfer thread
His scoring stats from the previous season were not as impressive as he took a while to settle in. But from the Christmas/New Year period of 2009/10 through to the present day he has been pretty prolific. I think that is a long enough period to justify talent over simply a good run of luck.
Obviously he's probably not going to score more than about 10 goals maximum, because Swansea will undoubtedly struggle. But I do believe he could be their leading goalscorer for sure, and impress with the limited resources of being in a newly promoted team.
And I am a Watford fan yes

Don't you just love sell-on clauses! 25% of Ashley Young - HURRY UP AND SELL VILLA!
Though that's bloody more than we paid you for him in the first place isn't it???

Yep the tribunal made you pay £200,000 upfront but including the clauses we've made £875,000 from the deal.Electric Demon wrote:Don't you just love sell-on clauses! 25% of Ashley Young - HURRY UP AND SELL VILLA!

That's a pretty good sell on clause, especially when they supposedly want £15million for him.

Larrson will be a good signing, I am not convinced whether Wickham is going to be a huge success, and I have been wary about Liverpool being interested in him.
