Straight left wrist
Anybody have a straight left wrist at the top of your backswing - noticed mine was very 'cupped' especially when swinging hard and have tried to keep this straight - feels weird and everythings going leftish but I think it's meaning I'm not having to be so handsy at impact (odd hook or push)

Re: Straight left wrist
I had a bowed wrist at the top of my backswing, I just had to move the thumb further to the left on my grip which has straightened it out.

Was everything going right before you made the change? I often suffer from an open clubface at impact and find that keeping the left wrist straight can help straighten things out.MontysMerkin wrote:Anybody have a straight left wrist at the top of your backswing - noticed mine was very 'cupped' especially when swinging hard and have tried to keep this straight - feels weird and everythings going leftish but I think it's meaning I'm not having to be so handsy at impact (odd hook or push)

Do you have any images of your left wrist at impact? Far more important...

Not really, I think over the years I have used innate athleticism (ha!) to close the clubface using my hands at the last minute. This is fine when timing it well but awful if not. It's something I noticed a mate doing and after thinking about it seemed to make sense...incontinentia wrote:Was everything going right before you made the change?
