Shame Bournemouth dropped points.
Last 2 games will be tough, but hope they can do it.

Bournemouth will do it and go straight back down. Same with Watford. If Middlesbrough do it, I can't see them scoring enough goals. Norwich and Derby might have the best chance. Ipswich, Wolves and Brentford won't be good enough. I'd like to se Norwich, Derby and Middlesbrough go up, but that's unlikely now.

Great away day apart from the football, probably the most common saying of the season!
We are a terrible terrible team, we don't deserve to stay up, how we are not in the drop zone is quite shocking and again says how bad this standard is!
Dissapointed with everything performance related yesterday, more so when only one player made the effort to thank the fans, Hughton and management straight down the tunnel. Everyone rightfully booed of at both Halfs.
Still safety can be confirmed Tuesday, if blackburn beat millwall.
Finally, nice work Sheffield Wednesday!

We win against Birmingham on Wednesday night and we confirm safety, but it shouldn't really be in doubt anyway I would hope.
Can't wait to end this dreadful season, hopefully we can end it on a high though by winning some games and to finish as high as we can.
Not looking forward to the summer, with the signing of Kwesi Appiah in January, I can't really say I'm filled with optimism about Steve Clarke's signings unless they are some pretty big names that will win us this league next season. We are more than capable of doing it because w are one of the best teams in this league, we've proven that before. Play-Offs is a minimum next season.

If we go up watch our chairman Gibson spring into action, if Karanka needs a top striker ,midfielder etc the money will be made available it alway's has been.FootballLight wrote:Bournemouth will do it and go straight back down. Gibson has never been frightened in the transfer market that's for sure, you can't stay up on the cheap unless you have one hell of a scouting network. Karanka would get 100% backing guaranteed.

Bamford winning is a bit of a joke tbh. A boro fan I know seems to think Clayton, Leadbitter and Freind have been there stand outs.
Harry Arter, Marc Pugh, Jota, Murphy, all would of been high on my list.

Dunno about Clayton, but Leadbitter and Friend have been among our best players this season. I'd also throw Adomah's name in there for outfield players. Our keeper Dimi Konstantopoulos has ben an absolute star too.
As Ziggy said though, its the goal-getters that tend to focus attention. Bam-Bam's been great for us on that score, but I'm a bit puzzled, given there are several players ahead of him on goals scored.

Bamford may get our player of the season, standouts have been alongside Bamford, Leadbitter, Friend, Gibson and our keeper has been brilliant.NickisBHAFC wrote:Bamford winning is a bit of a joke tbh. A boro fan I know seems to think Clayton, Leadbitter and Freind have been there stand outs.

Ayala would be in there but missed a few games with injury.
Friend has been outstanding, defending and going forward, if he got ours there would be no argument from anyone in the Boro.

Meow! (you really know how to hold a grudge, don't you?)
Things worked okay for both parties in the end...let it go and move on, man!
We're getting home attendances of over 19,000 now (including away fans). Think we've had a few over 20k recently.
Not great, but a big improvement over the nadir period under Strachan when we were getting something like 13,000.

Had Southgate been sacked the season before, we may well have stayed in the Premier League, superb defender, but he was thrown in at the deep end and I'm afraid he drowned, big mistake from our great chairman putting Southgate in charge, cost us millions.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Is that more than you get at home? Gates have picked up at the Riverside, had 32000 there against Forest early on in the season, defo sell out against Brighton, but still the best supported away team in the Championship, 4500 at Rotherham.

The Southgate thing really bugged me, don't know why.
I'd honestly quite like to see this Watford side in the Prem, and I really like Bournemouth. Its a year where I actually quite like some of the teams fighting for promotion. Id love Brentford to go up, and I really want Derby to be rewarded for how much I've enjoyed watching them over the last two years.

The problem I had with Southgate in charge, was as bad as we were playing the chairman stuck buy him to prove a point, should have sacked him the season before, but sacking a manager when you move up to 2nd in the league didn't make sense.Dolphin Ziggler wrote:The Southgate thing really bugged me, don't know why.

Southgate can come to Boro and get a good reception, Strachan comes into the Boro he better be in disguise, wasted 10 mill on a load of sub standard bravehearts, never forgive the surly, ignorant, sarcastic little runt.

Blackburn 0-0 Millwall at half time.
Obviously want Blackburn to win to confirm safety, but I'm not fussed. We fully deserve to go down.

Winning on Saturday- no chance I'm afraid, but who knows we might relax as we have nothing to play for now and hopefully some young players will be given a chance to impress.
Joe Bennett - the left back has been set high, Wayne Bridge and Stephen Ward have been class for us the last 2 seasons. He has done alright going forward but his defending can be very poor. If we sign him I'll accept it, but I think we could do better.
Ledesma and Caroyle have been dissapointimg.

Ledesma was inconsistent, good when his good, but awful when he's bad, not a Boro crowd favourite, Carayol had a bad cruciate injury that kept him out for 12months, can be unplayable when he's on form, so disappointing to know he's not doing the business, bags of skill.NickisBHAFC wrote:Winning on Saturday- no chance I'm afraid, but who knows we might relax as we have nothing to play for now and hopefully some young players will be given a chance to impress.

Karanka and Carayol don't get on personally.
Mowbray sold Joe Bennett for £2.75 mill, and bought George Friend for £100,000, don't think Bennett's progressed like many though he would.

Friend was a good buy especially in the comparison of prices. I remember we signed one Joseph Mills who was brother to Matt Mills and was meant to be a PL star LB. You can guess that never happened, loaned him to Burnley then sold him to Doncaster.

Re: 2014/15 Championship Thread
14,000 fitted into a 24,000 seater stadium isn't bad at all to say we are playing for nothing in the Championship. Considering, another 3/4,000 away fans would travel. That puts numbers at around 16,000/17,000. That's not bad at all.
If only Forest didn't have mediocre managers. Pearce was just laughable. Freedman with 2 wins in 10. Or better put, no win in 6 games now either. Its fair to say Forest didn't have the best time in the FA Cup either. Unlike some teams.
But that Norwich are just fantastic aren't they! Really good season for them. What a shame they couldn't have the league wrapped up by now though. They lost to that poor side Reading home and away didn't they. Well, that would have seen them promoted by this weekend if they would have beaten Reading twice, what a shame.
Arsenal are one hell of a team as well. Just managing to scrape past a shocking Championship side called Reading, where they relied on 2 goalkeeping errors to get themselves through and extra time. At least they aren't as bad in the Premier League eh...
FUN FACT
Arsenal have won 1 trophy in almost 9 seasons now.
Reading have won 1 trophy in almost 3 seasons. (And sneakily 2 trophies in 9 seasons - 2 league titles as well!)

It does make me laugh when a fan of a team slags off another fans team, yet the team thats being slagged off has done more, eg playing in the prem. Fa cup semi final.
Thats the real joke.

How is it a team can play well in the cup against a Premiership team, but can't raise their game in the league.
It shows a total disrespect for the fan who pays his hard earned cash towards the players wages, bugs me to hell.

Dont really care what his personality is like(seems ok to me).
Very passionate unlike Lambert was.
He is doing well for us and thats all that matters in the end.
