We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
Missed the game today great result!
City have bought terribly since they won the title in 11/12, 100s of millions and no real certain starters or class players introduced.
They've prospered in a relative decline of the pl, picking up the top players from the non top 4 and the sub elite Europeans was good enough as a base but they didn't kick on and it has showed in Europe and this season.
6 wins in a row for United, city, Spurs and Liverpool in that run.
Top 4 all but secured, big test next week against chelsea.

Big game sunday SOF.
Liverpool will be favourites, but we've been playing well under cockney Tim.

Sterling not helping himself with his off-field antics of late. Think he needs to get a grip asap but also needs to ask himself which one of his "friends" is giving the media these pictures

Its a sad state of affairs- when the country and world want to watch Brazil(Palace) play instead . However these fixtures are arranged well in advance .

On paper, at the start of the season, Newcastle/Tottenham sounds like it could be a good game.

Well, I'm watching the Bahrain Grand Prix instead, which I see is on at the same time. We're playing so bad, that I'd rather watch a potentially good motor race, than see Williamson helping Kane out of his mini-drought.
No doubt I'll switch over at the end of the race & find out Rivière has banged a hat-trick

I just want to hear the radio communication between rosberg and the team . It will be funnier than a ricky Gervais pod cast.

Have to laugh reading City linked with Danny Rose to sort out their issues.

If Man City are going for Quota why not go buy a decent LB like Aaron Cresswell, Even Ryan Bertrand would do.

Well then
Cresswell or Bertrand
Sterling or Walcott ( can't see him staying tbh)
Fabian Delph, Even Henderson seems to be stalling on a contract at Liverpool aswell...
Maybe Berahino/Ings for a back up forward
All plausible targets bar Henderson for the most part id expect.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
I think the problem with almost all of them is that they have more ambition and would rather play at a lesser club and play football.
Sterling would get in the side. Maybe even delph for half the games, the way there midfield has been playing and it seems like milner wants out as has every English player over the last few years. I think nasri and Toure will be on there bikes as well.
Man city just paid out x amount on bony and have aguero and dzecho.
Ings or berihinio would be mugs to go to citeh if they have hopes of playing gootball.
Citeh will have to find mercenary Englishman willing to accept good money to train and bench warm.
They could go for Moses mind. A player that is home grown all though he plays for another country..he would still fit the quota. Junazi and Bolaise are others. There don't neccesarily need to find english international players. Just home grown that have picked another nation that are happy bench warming... I can't for the life of me see Bolaise doing that but anyway.

Probably more to do with the fact the Liverpool have just off-loaded an exceptional talent who caused them more media headaches than was worth it in the long run and could do without having to do it all over again. The hassle we already have with Balotelli is enough for one season. Sterling could do without becoming a bell-end of Ravel or Ranger proportions.Olly wrote:DAVE667 wrote:Sterling not helping himself with his off-field antics of late. I don't get why he would have a sabbatical, if anything, his stock has fallen this year, going into the wilderness for a year + won't help. At the minute, he's still got a good reputation & a big job is clearly going to be available at City. Can see Pellegrini staying until the summer & getting the top four with their fixtures remaining, then will be sacked.

To come out with his now just stinks of him knowing something about another job, no other reason to announce this.
I also see Milner has apparently stated he would be keen on joining Arsenal & that talks with City are all but over. Imagine Arsenal would want rid of Walcott's wages first.

My mistake . I must be naive as to what you kids get up to. I take it nitrous oxide is the stuff they give out before certain medical procedures like novocane.(after a google search).
I think I have taken it though- I must have assumed it was helium- lol - i was seriously drunk last year. Thats pretty stupid.

Two of your best players are off, fancy going to manage their big rivals who need a complete squad renovation?
I'm in two minds about Klopp, the moment players started to leave he was found wanting, the players he's brought in recently have been crap and he's seemed unable to reinvigorate them. He's a good coach but I don't think he's a manager.

His players love him. The fans adore him. So if he's a good coach then he's got the rest done too.
City would be fine, players won't be his call anyway.

Do we write off this season and ignore it then Dolph?
Surely a team would look at how far Dortmund have fallen this year and question whether he's the right man or not.

Well if we look at the German national teams performance , we could just put it on a world cup hangover from the players(as they have many of the same players)
They have also not produced what they are capable of.

Four of their players went to the world cup Mysti and only Hummels was a regular starter, so a pretty poor excuse that one.

It's just odd, he's had a worse season with Dortmund than Moyes did with us last year yet is still linked to big European teams.

It's only one bad season, heavily effected by injuries too. Love how HH trying to make out he's not a good coach at all, his record at Dortmund was phenomenal.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Done a great job, better when you look at how many of dortmunds top players he bought on the cheap then developed further.
In the end he (and the club) have been shafted by the modern system, with their best players leaving on an annual basis.
The well was always going to run dry.

People are looking at his over all achievement with dortmund who are not one of the European elite clubs- not in financial terms anyway.
I'm sure he'd get slated for a season like this with a bayern, barca, United etc

The bottom line is he has such a record at Dortmund that one season of vast underachievement can be written off as an anomaly rather than a trend.
Moyes was scapegoated, but he didn't have the track record to effectively refute it.

Guys we've got a spot free in our manager league on here taking over FC Basel, it's a fun league in which all that's required is a weekly set of tactics from yourself. I've been participating in the league since this site began and can recommend it. Please let me know if it sounds of interest!
