He looks better than when I saw him last year. Looks as though he has enough weapons to make top 50. Won't beat Kyrgios though who plays the same game but with even more power.

I'd agree. He certainly could break into the top 50 but its too premature to predict a Henman-esque career ahead on the back of his first slam match win.

Well done Edmund. Doesn't matter than he'll get battered by Krygios - one slam win can be so precious at this stage. Not just for ranking, but the money as well. Good lad.

I'll also add a quick congrats for Edmund - to come through qualifying for each of the AO and FO, and now to have won a match in the main tournament shows excellent tenacity and hints that he could develop into a good player. Kyrgios will be too good for him at this stage, especially with 5 sets in his legs from yesterday, but getting into the top 100 is a big step up for someone who started the year about 175.
Probably means 3 British men in the main singles draw at Wimbledon without the need for qualifying or wildcards. Even Ward is close to the cut-off at 104 and only a handful of points from the top 100.

Goodness me Edmund has improved. His movement is unrecognisable from a year ago. Much quicker and stronger. Forehand is a weapon too, and he clearly still has that great attitude.
There may be life after Andy!
