Not bitter at all, last year's winner, form team in the PL, against a crud team with an arrishole manager and fans who don't deserve the occasion. I'm hoping for 55-0 to Arsenal.westisbest wrote:Don't be bitter now Azzy.

Fans dont deserve it, sorry, but what a crock of sh1t.
Why dont we deserve it, just out of interest?

Yawn, banning someone for disliking a club's fans. We'll all be banned if that's the case.
Villa's fans invaded the pitch against Albion, twice, endangering children, themselves (also children judging by their behaviour) and Albion and Villa players. One Villa player after the game said it was 'scary', that people were 'grabbing him everywhere'. One Albion player was supposedly held back by Villa fans after being struck by a pitch invader. No club with fans like that deserves a big occasion like an FA Cup final.
I'd rather Wolves were in the final, which says something.

Countless fans invade pitches at various occasions. I have been at Villa when Man Utd invaded the pitch don't recall them being thrown out. Should we deny promotion to teams who invade the pitch celebrating said promotion? Our fans were stupid, we've been punished, in proportion with other teams who have committed similar offences were punished.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Invading the pitch I have no problem with. Invading the pitch during the game, or when the players are still on the pitch? It's a huge no-no. All it will take is one player stabbed by some lunatic, or a kid trampled, and we'll all be sat down behind 28ft fences like in Europe.
The only time Albion fans have invaded the pitch in my presence, all players were off the pitch, both sets of fans were ecstatic, and I stayed in the stands.

I agree it shouldn't happen, but my point remains we are not the first club who have done it, but unless you can direct me to an instance where another club has been kicked out of the competition for the same offence kicking us out would be a disproportionate punishment.

I never said you should be kicked out. I believe the punishment should have been a zero ticket allocation for the semi final, then the final if you won through.

Ban the fans that came on Azzy.
Thats not all Villa fans.
Lets be honest Azzy, if that game was at the Hawthorns, some of your fans would have run on before the final whistle, goaded our fans, like i'm sure ours did with yours.
This stuff happens, sadly.
Those fans that ran on you could say dont deserve it, but certainly not Villa fans on the whole.
Can't tar everybody with the same brush.
In fairness, was a stupid time to have the game, should have been the early kick off.

Zero ticket allocation for two games at Wembley? Are you serious?
I hope the West Brom fans who threw chairs at people during the game should result in WBA not being allowed to travel away to any game next season.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Not likely westy. Like I said, one pitch invasion in the last 20 or so years, and it was a safe one, controlled by the club.
Saying 'deal with the individual supporters' is like saying you shouldn't fine a club where the fans sing racists songs. Those clubs should play whole seasons behind closed doors, not the odd game, and have huge fines. Unsafe pitch invasions, where injuries and potentially fatalities could occur, should be met with the same punishment, regardless of who it was. It was several thousand Villa fans, not 3.
And those zero allocations would all then go to Liverpool / Arsenal, to reward their fans for good behaviour. Is a £200k fine for Villa going to stop a re-occurrence? No.
The West Brom fans who threw chairs at Villa fans had been subjected to item throwing earlier in the game. My mum was nearly hit with a bottle.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
What punishment did Man Utd receive the season they invaded the pitch, during the match, at Villa, if they were given zero allocation for future rounds I'll agree with your stance, if they were given a fine it would appear we have been dealt with in a manner completely consistent with other clubs, which I am sure is a stance we can all agree with. Consistency and all that.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Exactly my point Rowley. How can you obtain consistency unless you say "today is the last straw. Today we take this matter seriously"? You have to forget past events and start afresh, now. If the lower league playoff game ends with anything other than a £500k fine for the team whose fans punched Ian Evatt, it's a joke. He could have been killed, and one day a footballer will be killed. Then we'll all be behind fences.
Dolph, it was around 16/17 minutes in, and she wasn't expecting it as it came from below. Spurs fans did it to us at Shight Hart Lane some years back.

To be honest, Villa should be forced to employ 500 stewards for every game from now until 2050 really. Their fans can't be trusted. Entering the field of play is a criminal offence after all.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Well if the FA was to do that they would surely have to state in advance that the punishment from this day forth will be more than a fine, to do otherwise will suggest they have singled out a particular set of fans for a punishment over and above other clubs, and both the club and fans would have every right to feel aggreived. To the best of my knowledge they have done no such thing, so had little choice but to treat Villa as they have previously treated those guilty of the same offence.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
There's too many who do it now. QPR entered the pitch for winning a game after they were already down. Funnily enough, I've never seen it at West Ham, closest was the 5 idiots who ran on and got swiftly dealt with in the West Ham Millwall game in the league cup, and that was the least of the law's troubles that night.

Re: FA Cup Final Thread - 2014/15 season
Ok, we will agree to disagree on the Baggies fans invading the pitch if the game was at the Hawthorns.
I realise it was a good amount of Villa fans running on the pitch, but you cant say all Villa fans dont deserve to go to the final.
Banning the fans from going to Wembley would certainly make sure we/other fans did'nt invade the pitch again im sure, but there would be uproar with at least the fans that did not invade the pitch.
In fairness you you would have a good amount of teams playing behind closed doors then with fans running on the pitch, whether it be getting to a final, getting promoted, or avoiding the drop.

Someone said the punishment we should have got, or teams who invade the pitch before the final whistle, is to ban us/that team from the following season's competition, as well as the fine.

Villa rather chippy to start things. Arsenal creating some good chances. I love Theo in this match we need his spark and his pace to keep the Villa line honest. Only thing I really fear so far against Villa is a cross into the box from Villa that has to be their most likely goal chance.

Everyone talked about how Mane scored against Villa was all down to pace, but whereas Mane had Pelle pulling defenders all over the place, Walcott is operating as the leader of the line.
