THE BEST EVER DEBUT ALBUM
Culture Cup 2.0 round 5
First topic message reminder :
Round 4 of the Culture Cup 2.0 comes to an end and thank the heavens for that. As is standard for 2.0, there were some beauties and some utter sh*te picked in this round. The big winner was The Boss who (after he had put down his Niall Quinn autobiography and chosen his film) picked up maximum points for One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. It’s a quality film so no complaints from me. Trebs scooped up a healthy 8 points for Silence Of The Lambs which is also a tremendous film so again, no complaints here. Michaels got a lovely present of 8 points for his pick of Forrest Gump. That’s right folks, Forrest f*cking Gump. C&R also claimed 8 points with The Godfather. GrumpyG*lfer picked up 6 points for To Kill A Mockingbird which I also voted for. Cracking film. Weeman also picked up 6 points for Raging Bull. So Forrest f*cking Gump is better than Raging Bull and To Kill A Mockingbird. Forrest f*cking Gump.
Lots of posters managed to score a big fat headed zero, including Jeff for On The Waterfront and his arch rivalNicola Sturgeon superfly who, although he did get one vote, won’t be picking up any points as he failed to understand a very simple question and his pick of Lawrence Of Arabia fell outside the criteria. Jules will be disappointed to pick up some points for Annie Hall, but Galted will be devastated that no votes appeared for Amadeus. He saw Rupert Grint once. In a play. L*l. He also saw Laura Dern in a film. Double l*l out loud. Galted is a really funny guy. Dresses like a utter spazz but doesn’t let that hold him back in life. A solid 4 points for Hero keeps our resident champ at the top of the league but he can feel the hot breath of a few men down his neck now. He’ll enjoy that, no doubt. The only points Stella has managed to accrue have come from a book I picked for him. Perhaps the biggest surprise was Union Cane who picked up zero votes for his first choice of The Iron Lady.
Here is the updated league table:
1) Hero 30 pts
2) Paul 24 pts
3) Trebs 24 pts
4) C&R 20 pts
5) The Boss 19 pts
6) Harrier 16 pts
7) Ziggler 16 pts
8) Michaels 16 pts (will be deducted 2 points at the end of the tournament for being a pr*ck)
9) Fat head Adam 15 pts

Re: Culture Cup 2.0 round 5
You're second on the list boss. There is only Adam above you, he will almost certainly pick something extremely camp or some nonsense by a wrestler that is ineligible. Unless he picks No Ordinary Joe to annoy me.
You've got a pretty free run at the Quinny masterwork.

I'll hunt you down, don't think living in Scotland puts you out of the reach of DAVE.
Can you send SerialDAVE round to Azzy once he has decapitated Adam?
Tina, I'll kill Azzy for free if you promise that, no matter what Rowley sends as his picks, he gets "No Ordinary Joe" as his entry

Suspect if you're heading to kill Adam we'd be able to fund a helicopter there and back if we asked members of the board to chuck in.

Re: Culture Cup 2.0 round 5
"Closer inspection (ie an actual reading) reveals that the list has more merit than one might have thought. Superficially, Niall Quinn - The Autobiography, complete with cover shot of the Big Number Nine staring battered and confused into the mid-distance, looks ripe for a Jiffy bag and a packing-off to the Irish nephews in time for Christmas. Think of Quinn and you think of a bloke who never quite made it at Arsenal, did all right at Manchester City, better than average at Sunderland and spent one hell of a lot of time on the Ireland bench. His story in his own words looked certain to be the worst of the quintet. It is possibly the best."

I will pay for it. Adam was particularly rude to me via PM so I hope SerialDAVE brings his fat head back on a platter.
It appears nearly everyone is going for same first choice. I haven't even read it.

I haven't read yours, Jeff, but I have read a previous book of his which was excellent.
That Jon Ronson book still hasn't turned up, either.
Although it's a good excuse to go to the library every Saturday to see if it's there.

Yes, it is a nightmare. Poor old Adam Johnson has been royally stitched up by all accounts.
I am definitely becoming attracted to younger women. One of our players (21/22) brings his bird along and she scores when my old man isn't there. She is a cracker, lovely Irish accent, can score, and I saw her with a can of Magners on the go at 11am one Saturday. Definitely a keeper.

Easy way to solve it, if they are not in by close of play they get the following randomly assigned.
No Ordinary Joe
American Son
Cobra
The Dark Destroyer
That will learn them.
