Joshua, how far will he go? - Page 2 Empty Joshua, how far will he go?

Post by AdamT Wed 12 Aug 2015, 10:13 am

First topic message reminder :

Ok guys just for a bit of fun. Were do you all see Joshua in a few years? Will he be an undisputed champion? Do you think he might just win a portion of the title? Or will he fall along the way?

I think he will be the undisputed champion within 2 years. If he can hold a shot, (rumor has it he can) then I see no reason why he won't blow away the rest of the up and comers. I think he will be too much for Parker,Wilder etc.

Anyway, how do you see this young chaps career panning out?

Does AJ being knocked over whilst a total novice prove he has a bad chin? No

Does his winning streak indicate he can hold a shot? No, he hasn't took a decent shot yet.

Truth is nobody knows the answers... Time will tell and I am looking forward to finding out.

Who's this fella, speaking sense and not using any hyperbole to prove his point.

But someone heard a "rumour" that he could take a shot.

I want to know who, and how?

Give it a bloody rest man!

Lets spin it round the other way, has he been knocked down in the pros? Are there rumours going round that he gets rocked in sparring and has a glass jaw i.e. David Price?

If this were a court of law ruling on whether he was chinny or not they would simply look at the evidence we have to hand which shows he isn't chinny and would say "not chinny" as a result.

Fact is Strongy you're trying to trying to discredit the guy because he's English and the only fault you can find (and at present make up) is that we shouldn't believe he has a chin.

If he was chinny we'd have heard about it by now from sparring partners. He won't have gone through the hours of sparring etc. without getting tagged, unless of course he's the new HW version of Mayweather regarding being a defensive wizard but also carries serious pop.

What evidence have you got to say he's chinny save for a knockdown many moons ago? (and we'll come back to the Vitali reference of historical insignificance which you couldn't get your head around if you like)

I have more evidence that he is chinny than you have of him not being chinny.

What have you got?

"Riddock Bowe got knocked about in amateurs and was okay as a pro"

Laughable. Doesnt even have any relevenace to anything??

"Vitali got KO'd in a kick boxing match"

Again, laughable. So what? Mike Tyson lost a thumb war. No relevance...

"We havent heard anything about his sparring"

Well apparently you have, because according to a "rumour" he can "take a shot"**.

**Please note this rumor has yet to be substansiated and no one knows where it has came from.

I'll ignore the second debate on this and say Joshua has a certain aura that accompanies what we get to see in the ring. Unless something goes drastically wrong he'll be a champion at the least, unified champ and pound for pound top 5 at best.

The problem with AJ getting a chin check is the fact he is a heavyweight.... one punch and that Aura and marketability is gone. He will fight punchers eventually.... but I certainly don't think it will be before a title shot.

Also I am no fanboy... but maybe even then he won't get one. It's not beyond the realms of possibility to think he could blitz today's heavyweight division without taking a serious shot. Take Wlad out and it becomes more of a possibility. That's more to do with the dire state of the division.... although I think it's clear to see AJ has a lot of potential.

Leave it with me Pedro, I'll ban him. There is no place for his sort round here.
