It's an option lost but I wouldn't prefer to see Brown moved to the wing (if that's who you're on about!). Has Goode ever played in midfield or do you think he'd be considered there?

I don't have any concerns over our replacement front row being able to outmatch yours. That isn't exactly rocket science.
I do have concerns over how well our center combo will work, and with Goode on the bench we are limited in our options as to how to fix things if they are not working. I do have concerns about how well the scrum will work early on and how well the line out will work out through the the match. I do think the Welsh will be very fired up for this, and that can have a big effect (although that can work against them too). But I think we have worked out how to play Wales now and that there is a lot of steel in the core of this team.

Re: England v Wales, 26 September
It's a cliche, but I do think that if either side can get off to a flyer, that could have a huge bearing on things. If England start well and score an early try, then we really could struggle; alternatively, if Wales come out firing and make it tell on the scoreboard, that could heighten the pressure on the hosts.
I can't call it at all!

Breakdown is as ever anyone's guess, and saying Wales will be on top may well be down to the standard perception of Robshaw 'not being a 7'. There is a well distributed interview with Warburton this week where he goes out of his way to say how effective Robshaw actually is. It is going to be down to how the packs operate as a unit as a much as anything.
I think Sam Warburton actually said he considers Robshaw to be a far superior player, that it is actually just a pleasure to be on the same field as him, that he has endless stacks of tapes of robshaws games watched over and over trying to pick up tips on how to be the worlds best open side flanker...! That he feels guilty that both himself and his Welsh team deputy master Tipuric were deemed more selectable for the lions tour than Robshaw...!
In many of our eyes this match is all about small margins making a difference, but for Sam, he believes he will be needing to make yards, maybe even furlongs to match Robshaw for class...

Warburton is a class act, both on and off the field. Having Tipuric come on and Warburton shift to 6 gives Wales a nice impact option as well.

I don't see a big deal with the selection, pretty obvious! Wales for years have struggled if the opposition can neutralise their big direct runners. I can't think of a 10/12/13 axis more capable of doing that than Farrell/Burgess/Barrett.
Looking forward to it

Can we assume that as WG now states that we are going to smash them, that we will in fact see a lot of grubbers and chips in midfield? I do hope we mix it up a bit.

Sadly Emily then married James Corden and tried to sing. (ps I do not recommend "Into the Woods")
Perdita Weeks was born in Wales but I thought brought up as English. Her sister honeysuckle was assistan to Foyle in "Foyles War". And what kind of pretentious parents call their daughters Perdita & Honeysuckle?

Jenkins was either a cheating barsteward in the scrum and good in the loose or one of the best in his generation (Sigh) Elder statesman these days
Baldwin is pretty solid from the sounds of things and I believe was the starting Wales hooker in the 6N
Francis is the massive Yorkshire newbie. Good scrummager but I believe will struggle to manage the pace given his lack of experience at this (or any) level and bulk. Maybe a great player one day who knows but is probably an England reject for a reason.

Re: England v Wales, 26 September
Wales won six scrums against the head and 25 lineouts against Uruguay.
England lost three scrums against the head vs Fiji.
Out of 18 lineouts vs Fiji England one seven losing one on their own throw.
This was obviously because Gethin Jenkins is a cheating Barsteward, Baldwin an unknown and Francis a Yorkshireman who couldn't get into an England team if he wanted to..

Front row isnt as important as the lock paring IMO, there isn't an English front rower who is playing that well, and the Welsh front row isn't what it was.

I think that this is the first time I've seen a match thread full up before the game has even started.
I'll set up a Part 2 this evening with Perdita benched in favour of a more high profile Welsh team rep. Any suggestions? Katherine Jenkins will always get my vote but I remain a slave to the whims of the majority.

No, I disagree, Jenkins is far from a cheat. Best loosehead in a northern hemisphere generation, most capped prop in the history of the game.
To label him a cheat is trolling. Hence my sarcasm at your previous suggestion.

Just read an article in the media where rowntree said "i expect Wales will come with a few tricks up their sleeves" . What about England actually anticipating those tricks or shock horror turning up with a few of their own tricks? I fully expect us to be out thought and out played through Wales planning. Rowntree gets caught out time and time again.
