Sympathy isnt a discredit. As bad as City are at the moment, Liverpool have the swagger about them now. Goals are not done, definitely
Aye I know buddy, you know that's the first thing that gets mentioned though.
Welcome to the conversation any time we beat a big team!
Helluva kick Aguero.

Annoying that Lucas got booked earlier for a silly challenge otherwise he could have just taken Aguero down there I think and taken the card.

Fernandinho making City so much better. Arguably their best player so far this season and should have started.

Delph and Fernandinho are just so much quicker in those central areas. Mangala has been really poor.
Think Benteke will come on at some point, bypass the frentic middle a bit and bully Mangala as well.

Dropped presumably for the same reason that Fernandinho was, because of international duty.
Don't want to end up eating my words, but glad Aguero is off, he is world class.

Surprised it's Ibe on, doubt we'll get both Benteke and Sturridge today then. I'd have put Benteke on, played Firminio deeper. Really push Mangala.

Hope that isn't a serious injury to Coutinho, could be a long one if it's his hamstring.

Great performance. Just need to work on our consistency, don't want to do that and then lose at home to Swansea next week!(like what happened with Chelsea then Palace..)

Honestly I had a feeling about the Palace game mate, they just seem to have something over the players at the moment.

Palace are a fantastic counter-attacking team. Fast, skilful attackers.lfc91 wrote:Great performance. Just need to work on our consistency, don't want to do that and then lose at home to Swansea next week!(like what happened with Chelsea then Palace..)
Liverpools win was surprising and great. Looking at their team many of their players are good, but many are considered slow, ponderous, not great. Lovren was considered one of the worst players in the league.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
The Liverpool result over Man City, in my mind is similar to the result Leicester had over Newcastle. Both home sides being turned over by a three goal margin both away sides having 6 to 7 more shots on target than the home side.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Top drawer performance by Liverpool and this weekend has put into context the aesthetic nature of the top teams with City and Arsenal being woefully inconsistent.
Who would have thought that Leicester would be top of the table after 13 games, it won't last as their fixture list is about to get much much harder. Second at the moment for us and i've said it all season but Smalling, De Gea and Schneiderlin (proved me wrong) could be the difference makers, it's not pretty but neither is losing.

Calls for cutting the losses with McLaren at Newcastle and bringing in Moyes or Brendan or ...
Some are saying Newcastle have good players but they are not playing as a unit. This match and last match. I reckon Sam Allardyce will turn around the fortunes of Sunderland (just), I think Remi Garde will improve Aston Villa (but think they will probably be relegated). I think Newcastle have too many good players to be relegated but I am not sure about former England manager McLaren.

Yeah we have struggled greatly with the big fast athletic players these past few years.(Bolayse in particular). Still teams aiming for top 4 should be looking to beat most teams at home, Palace included.
Still, happy man tonight.

Firminho has been steadily improving (as you would expect) and tonight he showed in spells that he definatley has the quality to justify the price tag. Him and coutinho look to be the makings of a great partnership.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
You can see the difference in the play, the pressure and attack has the feel of the season before last. I like that he hasn't said he's satisfied with a performance yet either and continues to demand more, even when beating both Chelsea and City pretty comfortably he is saying we can do better.
Plus I haven't heard him use the word character yet which is a bonus.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Klopps philosophy seems to be about improving the players he has got, with special Klopp training methods. Plus a high energy pressing match game - the latter being like Pochetinno.

one game, against Mangala & Demichelis, christ.
Lukaku with 50 goals before he's 23, has barely even had a sniff of praise on here.
As for title, never thought I'd say this, but United are my new favourites. Although not pretty, they barely concede, organised, pretty consistent in hoovering points, luck seems to go with them & not really any pressure of expectation to win the title, unlike there is at City. Arsenal are the same old Arsenal & Leicester will fade.

not sure how much more he has to do or prove, before people start recognising him for what he is. A goalscorer. Okay, first touch might not be the greatest, but given good service, he will rack up the goals. 51 goals, before 23 years of age is impressive, you've seen the small list of players to achieve that, all were top, top quality. he's been rumoured to replace zlatan this summer at psg, so at least his name is starting to be linked with top clubs.

and? what does that prove about Lukaku? Fowler hit the ground running at Liverpool, had three or four quality seasons, then he faded quite significantly. Lukaku has the type of game, whereby he could play right into mid 30's & still be effective. By his late twenties, Fowler was a spent force.

Not a dead Chelsea and a league cup game against Bournemouth! I don't really think anyone wrote him off, but one most wonder why you are talking Firmino improving and not someone like Moreno #hipster

I like Lukaku and find the undercutting of his achievements funny, but I'm not sure I see his game being one that lasts to his mid 30s.
