"Losers" that stayed favorite second time around !!
At the moment Wlad is a slight favorite...I expect that to change and for fury to be favorite come fight night..
Trying to think of fighters that stayed favorite despite losing first time up....Don't seem to be that many...
Holmes v Spinks 2....(8/5 Slight favorite as opposed to huge one...6/1 first fight..)
Honeyghan v Vaca.......(6/1 cut to 3/1 for the rematch...)
Breland v Starling 2...(4/1 to 7/5....)
Duran v Leonard 2 ......(Leonard was 6/5 fav...Duran was 4/1 outsider the first fight) ......
Tyson v Holy 2........(2/1 from 8/1 first time around)..
These are the only ones of the top of my head..
Not that often does a guy stay favorite after losing first time around.....If Wlad stays 8/5 then he joins a select band..

I know it didn't happen until a few years after but Cotto vs Margarito??
Or are you just looking for rematches that had taken place shortly after??

Very good shout.
Was JMM ever on shorter odds than Manny...??
Relevant to the moment which generated the OP, presumably Wlad was favourite going into the Brewster rematch (albeit 4 years later)??

Pretty sure the odds on Price v Thompson 2 were in Price's favour...

Was Juanma Lopez the slight favourite against Salido?
I know it never came off but khan was the favourite when he was suppose to be fighting peterson before the fight was cancelled

Yeah Price was still a big favourite going into the Thompson rematch.
Hopkins was against Taylor and I think Mosley against Forrest

Cracking idea for a thread.
Not really in keeping with the vibe of the thread, but Jones/Hopkins? Surely Hopkins was seen as likely winner there, with boxing as a whole carved in stone as the heavy, inevitable loser.

Would Barrera have gone into the second Jones fight as favourite? I'd suspect so.

Fury - Wlad looks like resembling...Dempsey - Tunney..
Tunney was a similar 4-1 no hoper....and it was pickem at fight Night for the return..

Good one mate....Liston 13/5 favorite....
These odds can't possibly be right. Surely you mean 5/13. And if Liston's odds were 13/5 then Ali would have been a short priced favourite.

Got most of the odds off news archives and a couple off box rec..
If you gave JMM the first Manny fight...Manny was favorite for the second 12-5...
Zapata - Bassa...
Hearns v Barkley....Although that wasn't immediate.

Surely it's any fight where an underdog upset a top fighter, or was awarded a contentious decision?

Technically it wasn't a loss but it felt like one - was Crolla favourite vs Perez second time round? Can't remember the odds...

The fight never happened, but I imagine Tyson would of been a heavy favourite in a Douglas rematch.
