Well done to Cardiff Blues - fully deserved the win. Patchell was exceptional.

Yay, Cardiff found their mojo I reckon.
Losing until 8mins to go. Huge win I think and should give those players a big confidence boost.
Was Patchell more effective at OH or FB? On the hoof at full tilt he's difficult to stop. Like a young Jamie Roberts.

Also, what's the whole story regarding Hammett leaving?
The Landfill was about a property deal. Top players weren't replaced thanks to the necessary salary cap because of Roger's intransigence.
Whole story? Let's just say that the headline is that he needed to return home to be with an ill relative.
Re: Cardiff Blues Season Thread 3 - Danny Wilson Appointed Head Coach
That was a cracking results for the Blues. When they click they are a very difficult team to beat.
The big question is how long will Filise continue to play? He seems to be scrummaging better than ever and has been constantly outplaying his much vaunted team mate Ma'afu. Amazing player and great job done by Danny Wilson at the scrum.

Think he does better attacking the line from FB.
Will be interesting to see if he makes the XV when Anscombe is back, Fish is playing incredibly well and Patchell will be off west soon.

I've just read on the Beeb that Summerhill has scored five tries in eight games. I'll be honest i've not really been keeping an eye on him during the games but he seems to be in decent form. Is he someone that is under rated? Will have to pay more attention to his game vs Glasgow should he make the team.

Aye and a predicted total disaster that cost the club £££s, and a few supporters no doubt. Can't blame everything on Dodger is all i'm saying.
Is the LV returning next season? Hope to reach the knockout stages this time.

Just imagine ex FB Jamie Roberts doing that for Wales? That would worry the SH lot I reckon.

Scoring tries is not a measure of competency. He ran in one on Sunday from very close in.

Threw half a dozen or so in a CCS bin once, when walking up. Also remember receiving a ticket voucher in the post. Think it was for a Drags game. Had to join a queue outside the stadium to swap it for a proper ticket IIRC. All very weird.

I have heard that Earle has passed a medical (well had passed a medical), but the deal is not completed. To be honest you would be taking a big gamble signing him IMO. Up until this season he has been a real work horse, and almost superhuman with his lack of injuries. However this season he has been pretty much crocked non-stop. If he can get over the injury issues over the summer you will have a decent lock on your hands, if not you will be luck to see him play.
I prey Myhill doesn't go, but with Ken, and Emyr ahead of him, and with Elias behind, it makes perfect sense. It should be interesting to see who starts at hooker next season.
As for Steve Shingler, is a shame to see him go. Probably in hindsight, even though I really rate him as a player, one of the worst signings the Scarlets have made. When we announced his signing it was the catalyst in Owen Williams making his mind up to cross the bridge (rather than slide further down the pecking order). This season we were hoping Steve would kick on, but he seemed to have some issues with form (think the uncertainty of his future may have played a part). It will be interesting to see where he plays for the Blues. I can't see him ousting Gats love child at fly half, or Nipper at fullback. Possibly he could slot into the centre, but most likely he is going to bench warm as a utility back.

Re: Cardiff Blues Season Thread 3 - Danny Wilson Appointed Head Coach
Sorry, Earle it is. If what you're saying is right we'd better be careful. We need a second row more than anything else if i'm honest. Would hate to be picking up a injury nightmare.
I have no idea what you've got in the water down there but you're churning out some very promising hookers. It does seem that he's been forced to move.
Shingler could do well for us at 12. Allen either seems to be with Wales or hurt (New Jamie Roberts indeed). He and Lee-Lo could work together in the centre. I do worry that he will suffer from Hook Syndrome and be seen as too good not to have on the bench. Time will tell.

Very confused. The 'One True Club' not running their own club side but giving it to CAC to run on the side? WTF?! CAC renting their ground to you, losing their running of the club side, and now wranglings over redevelopment? Sounds like t-it for tat! Welcome to Welsh rugby!

Wilson's first major blunder whilst in charge of the One True Club is signing Shingler - very poor player and a major step-down on Patchell. I can only hope you're planning on having Morgan cover 10 ahead of him.

2. Craig Quinnell is funny as, and should be on more often.

CQ said the Llanelli word when referring to the Scarlets and suggested Wales were playing rubbish rugby. That's his chances blown of being a regular on ChumV.

Regarding the supposed "clearout"; anyone going from today's squad, other than Patch?
Cardiff Blues:

The lease will be sorted and it's a shame that it has only taken 13 years for Thomas to understand the blindingly obvious.

It's worse than that.
CAC had little to no control over player signings or coach signings.
Wilson also doesn't release players until normally a Thursday, meaning anybody dropped to play in the Rags had (maximum) one training session to learn all the calls, moves etc.
Hopefully from next season it will be run properly.

Aye and BTW, what became of CAC inviting bids with regards to selling CAP? Received 3 IIRC; from the WRU, Uncle Pete and A. Another. Did the place ever get evaluated to CAC's satisfaction?

Thought everything was tickety-boo and moving in the proper right direction?
Anyway, you'd shewerly have ewer own spot and a Bloos car big enough to accommodate a massive clock, just in case it needed to be taken away for fixing.
