Great game France.

case for Kruis to be player of the tournament? Think it will go to Billy V, but Kruis has been consistently excellent throughout, barely put a foot wrong in any of the games.

Re: France v England - grand slam game
oh just seen Billy got MOM again, don't think Kruis got a MOM which rules him out of player of the tournament doesn't it? Billy played well today with some usual bruising carries, but Kruis was the star for me. Called the line-out superbly (think England were 100%), and, with Itoje, ruined the French one in the second half. Also carried well in close quarters, tackled hard.

A decent performance over a mediocre team. Got the win which was the one and only priority. But it needn't have been so difficult at the end. Lots to work on, for sure.
But that is for tomorrow. Right now, time for (another) pint.

Re: France v England - grand slam game
Am I the only one frustrated by some of Owens's decisions? Pings Itoje early on for hands on the floot, but seemed to let France then get away with it all game? Certainly a lot of penalties against England for holding on could have gone the other way IMO...

I agree. The lin- out was key and Kruis was key to the line-out.Mad for Chelsea wrote:oh just seen Billy got MOM again, don't think Kruis got a MOM which rules him out of player of the tournament doesn't it? Kruis is certainly the most improved player in the last 12 months. Awesome performances even if they don't catch the eye of the MOTM committee.
I bet Haskell is loving the fact that he looks like the bloodied warrior on telly

I'm know I'm a tigers supporter but did people see what Ben youngs can do in an England shirt. I know he needs to work on some of his passing but I thought he brought a lot more tempo than care and his kicks were a step above

The weird thing about both Care and Youngs is they both seem better off the bench!nathan wrote:I'm know I'm a tigers supporter but did people see what Ben youngs can do in an England shirt. I think they are both the the type of players to run riot with tired defences, but I hope folks who keep saying Care offers a higher tempo realise it's mostly because he comes of the bench.Cyril wrote:The weird thing about both Care and Youngs is they both seem better off the bench!nathan wrote:I'm know I'm a tigers supporter but did people see what Ben youngs can do in an England shirt. Aye, there were far too many missed tackles all around, especially in the first half. There was far too much 'improvised' defence rather than structure. I don't give a toss right now thoughLondonTiger wrote:Cyril wrote:Nowell made some very important tackles again today.

Re: France v England - grand slam game
Yep, agree with all that. It's why they've been neck-and-neck for a few years now. Both players keep defences honest and don 't allow the other to nail the shirt. Impressed by both today.nathan wrote:I think they are both the the type of players to run riot with tired defences, but I hope folks who keep saying Care offers a higher tempo realise it's mostly because he comes of the bench.Cyril wrote:The weird thing about both Care and Youngs is they both seem better off the bench!nathan wrote:I'm know I'm a tigers supporter but did people see what Ben youngs can do in an England shirt. Nowell learned though. He showed intelligence.
He was getting a hiding, but adapted and started to hit the Fijian early.
Top class winger. Just need to give him some ball like Watson seems to get

I agree Nathan
I still think we need a new SH to really come and nail that 9 spot. Youngs did play well when he came on , but I have been massively critical.
Hows the £130.....
