Tonights Action
Anybody watching this?
Price just beat an Eastern European security guard with 2nd round knockout. Still looks scared of his life when people attack him though.

The Sky team were saying how it was a good performance from Price, however i did not see anything to suggest he has improved

Good power and shot selection. Showed more of his Jab which I have wanted to see for a while know. Can use that as a real weapon.
Hope he gets a decent fight now and gets its right!!

What time are you turning it off MM? Now or just before the Bellew fight?

Before. Wanted to see Callum Smith and Price. Smith has finished now nothing more to see.
Plus I'm a boxing fan so I'll be watching the Bellew fight, I just love a good ol fashion moan.

Smith is very very lucky not to be disqualified there.

Bellew's still banging on about fighting David Haye. Think he's s bit deluded. Makes me think he's misjudged this fight in accordance with his psychological skewing. Think he could get ktfo.

Oh. Ok. Well. That's the first decent level KO I've seen from Bellew for a while.

Re: Tonights Action
The guy ha some power but he just leaves himself open so so much. I was shocked in the first round when he dropped Bellew but the writing was on the wall in this fight. Good atmosphere though. You think he takes in Levedev?

Apart from stopping a shattered Brudov he hadn't stopped any decent opponent, fair play to him.

Lebedev (or any elite level CW) end him, IMO. Still, fair play to him and congrats on eventually bagging himself a world title.

Re: Tonights Action
I'm still confused as to how the bookies had this guy a favourite yet the population on Sky had Bellew winning (68% of). That Makabu is is a slow starter and is so hittable it only takes one. He got hit tried to fight fire with fire (lack of experience maybe?) and ulitimately lost. Another Hearn con (this guy is the best out there at Cruiser). Great win for Bellew for picking up a strap beating an average fighter. Hopefully he fights Lebedev. Be a great win if he gets him.

Well I've accused bellew of talking the talk and not delivering in the past, so fair play to the guy. He talked and delivered. He looked sharp.

Re: Tonights Action
Lets not rewrite history here, Makabu was favourite for a good reason; he was the puncher and more proven fighter at 200lbs, what a bunch of Bellew fans think on a Sky poll is totally meaningless in reality.
It was a good for Bellew against one of the top fighters in the division and somebody who was not average in the slightest.

Re: Tonights Action
I message my brother about 5 minutes before because he stated it will be a tough fight....and said...Bellew will steam roll him. Makabu has knocked out who sorry? It's a high KO ratio fella with no names who gets hit easily and is a slow starter.
The fight went Exactly as stated. The guy is average. There is zero evidence to even suggest otherwise, sorry.

Re: Tonights Action
Mchunu is a very good boxer but because you've not heard of him he gets labelled as crap or average.
You got this one right and fair play but you do have a tendency to predict any Hearn fighter whoever they are to win within 4 the moment they fight a slightly more obscure opponent.

Hilarious.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for the guy, but he's seriously deluded.

Re: Tonights Action
Let's be honest Hammer, they guy was average.
Your right, I'd never seen him fight until this week. If heard of him, but like most boxing fans, we tend to have a browse and look at a few clips or some fight footage to see what the supposed Hype is about (lest we forget Sky were claiming him to be the best cruiser out there). The guy clearly isn't world class. Good puncher? Absolutely. Anything else? Show me ANYTHING that states he is any more?
I'm happy for Bellew, the atmosphere was immense, he has won a world title whoever the foe is, it's irrelevant to most. He is in the history books now and that's all that matters.
And yes I tend to bang on about Hearn fighters because again, let be honest, his track record over the past few years has been an utter shambles with the exception of Froch who tended to not give a Poopie who he fought and was in back to back fights with top opposition.
The majority of his stable are put in all the super shows with hyped up opponents or has beens.
Soon as the KO occurred I turned off, I know far too well what Bellew will be saying and what Eddie will be saying. It will probably be on level par with Halling.
As I say, hopefully he can unify with Leb and justify his belt.

Re: Tonights Action
I am pleased for Bellew, there will be some on here saying Makabu is crap, the reality is he is not crap and its a very good win for Bellew. Lebedev is the best in the division in my opinion but Bellew deserves a lot of credit.
After what Bellew said the the post fight interview i think Warren will be speaking to his lawyers tommorow morning.
