Anybody watching this?
Price just beat an Eastern European security guard with 2nd round knockout. Still looks scared of his life when people attack him though.

And if he is sat now mentioning himself in the same light as Mayweather then I suppose it proves my above post is correct.
Thankfully I'm all switched off! :-)

No Drozd is retired, all champion in recess means is that if Drozd ever comes back he can fight for the WBC title straight away with Bellew having no choice but to face him. Vitali and Floyd have the same status in the WBC as they retired as champions.

Yep that's a guarantee for Warren!
Looking forward to Groves vs Murray now followed by the Porter vs Thurman scrap. Still split on those two fights. Still unsure about Porter.

Re: Tonights Action
Groves and Murray both win?!
I can't wait neither should be good. Think Brook is out in next few weeks once Vargas is confirmed so can potentially unify the 147 division. Hopefully then gets his chance to prove himself against the winner of the Thurman vs Porter fight (although he has already proven it once with Shaun!).
GGG out again shortly I'd assume if Canelo runs off.
Wlad vs Fury 2.
Anything else? Floyd vs Garcia if he comes back?
Heard JMM is coming back to face Cotto??

Makabu cant really have been much to write home about if he was iced in two rounds by tony bellew.

Sorry mate that was meant to be Groves and Thurman win, I think Floyd will return against Garcia as you suggest. Brook v Vargas will get slated by some on here but as its a unification i'm not sure too many can complain.
Other fights possible in the next few months:
Jack V Degale/Smith
BJS v Golovkin maybe?(long shot)
Crolla v Linares
Burns v Broner

Can you sue someone for calling you Frank Warren? I guess if you can, he will!

I'd be interested to know what law Bellew has broken in calling him that, he's threatened to sue forums for it knowing full well they don't have the financial clout to stand up to him.

Does he even have a case anyway bearing in mind he never actually named Warren?

Re: Tonights Action
Makabu was rated the 5th best cruiserweight in the world by the TBRB. Lebedev is the best in the world (hence the fact Bellew mentioned him).
The Congolese was favourite heading in and is a good fighter. Great win for Bellew and a really entertaining fight. It seems fans are keen to knock every top win by a Brit on here - you can't knock this one.

How is it a fact? Makabu was unknown quantity. I havent seen much at all of makabu. But i have seen plenty of bellew. A very good fighter would not be getting wiped out by bellew in two rounds. Chances are makubu is an ok fighter with a good punch.

Re: Tonights Action
I agree Catch. Makabu isn't anything special. It just goes to show the state of the cruiser division I suppose. Light Heavy have some great fighters in award, Stevenson, Kovalev etc. Heavy have Haye, Joshua, Povetkin, Wilder, Klitschko.....cruiser has Bellew? Lebedev? That's it.
If course it's easier for Tony go jump up and fight a couple of euro fighters then get a prestigious WBC belt fighting some random fella.
It's also worth noting that Bellew stated he just BEAT the best cruiser in the world and that at goodison he is like Mayweather.
The guy is absolutely ridiculous as is Hearn.
If he fights Lebedev next the I won't complain one bit.

Re: Tonights Action
Bellew might be getting into the division at a goid tine. A lot of the stalwarts seem to be retiring or getting very old. Id still back most handy cruisers to beat bellew. But there seems to be less now than a few years ago. Usyk, lebedev, glockawi and even steve cunningham i reckon would beat him. But a good win for bellew all the same. Nice to see him deliver for a change.

Cunningham has been finished for years and hasn't beaten anyone half decent for 5 years, he could only manage a draw with an old out of shape Antonio Tarver.

Re: Tonights Action
There's been some good tear-ups at cruiser recently but it doesn't mean the standard is that great. A bunch of decent fighters with no standouts is how I see it. Makes for some good fights. Bellew looked sharp to me last night... Albeit just a couple of rounds. I'm not convinced of his whiskers in with the big guys but I'd give him a chance against most of them.

Is Huck still about? Decent "name" mixed with some good fighters.
Cunningham lost recently I think? Cat believe he is still about,
Anyone think Haye will come down?? Easy winnable fight for him, good money involved. Great atmosphere last night, Haye is a massive name in the Uk and it would do some good numbers.

Haye would have to chop off an arm to make the 200lb limit nowadays.

Yep no way Haye fights at 200 again. He's in for a big pay day or two at Heavy.
Honestly though if Haye fought Bellew at Heavy, it would be a step up from his last opponents.

I'm fairly certain I wrote a lengthy post about how Makabu was being trained in the jungle by his brother. If any of you still put money on him or didn't withdraw you have no one to blame but yourself and I did warn you.

Seems strange that they had it on a Sunday night, can't have done the attendance any favours.

Its because they had it at Goodison, the venue was only available that date they were starting to relay the pitch the day after

Strange decision for the venue then. Although in saying that the fans there are used to 3rd round knockouts.

Re: Tonights Action
It was a bank holiday pedro... The Sunday is a big drinking day. Sensible timing and location I'd say. It was ambitious in terms of bellew as a draw, but it gave as good a chance of a crowd (for a guy whose tried his best to milk the Everton connection) as anywhere they could pick.

I think he was just saying that at Goodison Park he feels invincible, as he gets such a high from fighting in the Everton ground, in front of his home fans. He knows he's not the most skilful boxer around.

Completely forgot this. The bank holiday over here (Ireland) is this weekend were as it's the week before in the UK. My mistake.

Is Usyk still knocking around?
Another top EE amateur with huge potential that's done diddly squat in the years since turning pro.
If the Głowacki fights comes off it could decide who the best in the division is.

Still around. Was supposed to fight in a tune up before he fought Glowacki but got injured. Can't read cryllic so have no idea on what he says is the update, but to my knowledge, they should still fight by the end of the year. At which point Usyk will decapitate Glowacki, steal Bellew's lunch money, and then defeat Chagaev to win the world heavyweight championship belt

Usyk is the WBO Mandatory for Glowacki, they are in talks at the moment I believe, Glowacki said the other day he hopes the fight takes place in Poland
