Re: Australia v England, 11 June
Seeing that Aussie back row brings shivers and hard memories of the kicking they gave us last year.
I can't see how England will slow them down and I fear lots of lost ball. Let's hope the front row don't get muller end again either.
I think a defeat by less than 20 would be an improvement away from home.

Turnover already. Fears already coming true, we're going to get killed by this backrow.
Do we not have any good and balanced back rows?
Oh good lord this is way ahead of what eng can do.

Re: Australia v England, 11 June
On a good day a good 7 is one of the most influential players on the pitch. On a bad day they can be bystanders.
If we protect the ball and if the heavies (and especially Haskell) do their job clearing out rucks we may well be fine

Re: Australia v England, 11 June
Hard not to when the best team by a massive margin have been Aussie.
Just such a gap in class. The World Cup showed how good they became in a short time and they have pushed on. To fast, too skilled, too good. Even the front row losing again.
Jones has a lot of work to do to step up from being competitive in the NH to being able to even play these top SH teams.

It's looking ominous but still early days yet... Are Aus this good or England not at the races yet? Either way I expect a response.

This is going to be 50 points at least.
We seem utterly unable to cope with the pace at all.

Yeah quite a daft perspective. England have also clearly improved since the world cup and there are another two tests to be played after this one.

One eye on this and the other on Lord's ...
Beginning to fear this particular eye will be bloodshot by the end
At last a bit of possession and three points back !

No need for Aussie fans booing kicks when their team are so dominant anyway. Shameful stuff.

Yeah you can only admire the way they move the ball ...but for the sake of the contest you'd hope they start making some mistakes

Let the game settle down. We might get dry humped, or we could settle down and play some Rugby. Next score is important.alfie wrote:trebellbobaggins wrote:Breadvan wrote:The Aus backs are playing so quick its like forward x2 like a sky remote. Sublime skills...

Re: Australia v England, 11 June
Christ that was agile from itoje.
So do we have anything that ca deal with this amazing Aussie backrow? For the future I think it might be the biggest worry. I think it's getting the right 6 and 7, and a seven who's quick and a great ball stealer. Itoje at 6 but where is the 7 coming from?

Re: Australia v England, 11 June
Think that's what Hartley was talking about Hammer.
England need to move the contact area away from Pooper. Go back too hitting the short ball at the line out. We're bang into this if we can tighten up.
Then foley does that

Hard to say if that was a blatant obstruction, England players bought the dummy.

That was obstruction. Very clever from the number 4. Just enough of a nudge whilst never playing the ball to stop the defence in ther tracks.

The ball was moving and England players weren't following it, they were looking at players without the ball - good dummy and a harsh obstruction call for me.
