Lets be honest, Hodgson only has the job because there's no one else. If they stay English then who gets it next?
Looks like Gary Neville is being groomed for it

15 mins from going out of a major tournament against The mighty Iceland and Hodgson still has the worst player on the pitch. Meanwhile two players who could change game are sat on bench..
Re: Euro 2016 Discussion
Wilshere the only one who can actually pass a ball it seems

England have matched Spain's achievements at the last two tournaments!
And Kane fluffs another good chance.

Roy still twiddling his thumbs...what are you waiting for to make a change...

Our defence has been an accident waiting to happen and Hart goes down in instalments,he's had a mare of a tournament.
Hodgson continually keeps getting team selection wrong, Sterling and Kane have been garbage since game one, but here they are again, typical stubborn coach trying to prove all the critics wrong.
Well, at least Hodgson will be gone after this tournament.
Don't think Hart or Rooney should ever play again. Hart is just too prone to errors and Rooney has looked past his best for some time now.
Same old problem remains though...where are we going to find a manager who can make our players click at international level?
Short answer: never
Because our players are Poopie - we haven't had any good players since about 2004
Funny how every tournament people blame everything: the manager, the team selection, the weather, the tactics and on and on, except the glaringly obvious - we are a Poopie team 'cause our players are Poopie. Simple.
But they're not though. Take Kane for example - scoring for fun this season with Spurs. Put an England shirt on him and he suddenly becomes a donkey...even with a few of his club team mates to help him.
Its a purely psychological thing IMO. They get some kind of mental block when they're called up for international duty.

With 5 minutes to go. Woy has been appalling and his sacking is the only benefit of this exit

Good 'ol Roy.
He knows I'll win a 9/1 bet in just under ten minutes! Rashford coming on...far too late to have a meaningful impact.

Harry Frak Kane!! Seriously now! I have no sympathy for him at all! It takes balls to stand up and keep trying but takes bigger ones to know when to stand aside and let someone else have a go
Re: Euro 2016 Discussion
How this is Rooney's fault I don't know.

Kane plonks a free-kick straight onto the advertising hoarding.

At least Spain have the excuse that they've reached the end of an era during which they were World Champions and 2-time European Champions.
England have never had an era...unless you count the 50-year one of mediocrity, punctuated by a few brief flashes of hope (Italia 90, Euro 96 etc.)

Its not ALL Rooney's fault, but its clear he is no longer fit to play for England. The rest are no better but I think he needs to make way on the basis of age.
Does anyone else get the nagging feeling our players have had half a mind on the start of next season and trying to stay fit / not pick up any injuries?

RIP English football.
This was a disgrace. Praise to Iceland , fine.
But no words can describe the limpness of this England performance.

Well the agony is over...England are out.
No more than we deserved from an utterly woeful performance.
At least there is Wimbledon and F1 to watch instead. Will keep an eye on Wales and France. Would like the hosts to win after what their country has been through recently.

Roy Hodgson will take the bullet for this.
But to a man, the players were complete garbage. Couldn't control a ball, couldn't pass 5 yards. Free kicks hit out of play.

7/1 that Iceland win in 90 minutes.
7/2 that Iceland go through.
14/1 on Iceland/Iceland at HT/FT
9/2 Iceland on the 'draw no bet' market
Absurd. I do make England favourites, but not by that margin!
I got on at 9/1 today that Iceland would win in 90 minutes, they moved further outside, so I'm very pleased.
Wonder if anyone got on the Iceland HT/FT?!

Dunno about the first part - I don't think Iceland even had to work that hard. Fair play to them, they did what they needed to. Played to their strengths for their first goal and walked through our AWOL defence (including keeper) for the second.
For all our possession, I think their keeper only had 1 serious save to make all match. Absolutely unacceptable from an England standpoint.
Totally agree with your second statement. Utterly Dire.

I think that was the most infuriating thing.
Our pampered, millionaire football stars couldn't even do the basics right most of the time. Stuff they teach at schoolboy level.
