Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (Fluxy) will remove players at its discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the match day 23's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make-up of your squad.
Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have an academy squad of 23 players. Players who are in the academy must be born on or after 1st September 1994.
Any player, who is at any Premiership club in real life, either in their senior, academy or AASE squads, can be bid for on the domestic bidding page. Players who are at your own club in real life and are coming through the academy system must be bid for if you want them in your own academy.
Transfers wrote:
- Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.- Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 5 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. Worcester Warriors & London Wasps will receive two additional bids to be used exclusively on academy age players. These players must be bid for on the National League Bidding page, and each bid will be considered by the RFU on its own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.- Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e. from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made by sending a PM to the RFU (Fluxy) and it will be considered by the RFU against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.
There will be a summer foreign transfer window, which will run as follows.
Round Bidding
Open Bidding
Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation
Compensation will be paid as follows
£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other
All released players will be deemed to have joined a Championship side and can be bid for on the National League Bidding page.
Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.
Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be European Rugby Champions Cup, European Rugby Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A match thread will be put up every Monday. Home teams must be named by midnight on Tuesday. Away teams must be named by midnight on Wednesday. Failure to meet these deadlines is punishable by the addition of three match points to the oppositions final score, unless both sides fail to do so. Both teams must provide tactics by midnight on Thursday. Predictions will be open from 00:01 hours on Friday and remain open until 20:00 hours on Sunday. Managers will pm the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.
Managers are asked to provide detail as to why they have predicted a result. To be considered a descriptive prediction this must be a full 3 lines long when entered into the text box.
Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.
In addition, each team must have the following:-
For domestic competition at least 8 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 4 of those must be in your starting XV.
For European competition at least 8 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 6 of those must be in your starting XV.
At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.
All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).
Failure to comply with these rules will result in a 1 league point deduction.
If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.
Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.
Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.
Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.
Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point.
Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.
£2m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
Bonuses will be awarded on a scaled basis i.e. £2m for 5 games, £1.6m for 4 games and so on
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc upto a maximum of £5m per fine.

I won the league with Irish and now they are nowhere to be seen!
I'd be happy if I can take Exeter to mid table ish as when I took over they were bottom and winless.

Saracens bottom when I took over mate, although a few WC players to deal with which kick started me. Johnny has made Sale best side in the league after being bottom too.
Matt was top 4 for about the first 5 seasons but has slipped over last few years. Every side is a few deals away from the top 6 imo.

good deals and player form is key. Sale and Saints probably have the best sides currently, but a lot can change.

Just wait for my side to get to the 6Nations and then everything goes a little bit wrong...injuries can really screw you over, was surprised to get through without a loss when I had no looseheads for a few weeks!

Just commenting on this season, saw the clear points divide! Fine for me, it means I'm just a big win off 6th and Top Flight European Rugby!Fluxy wrote:ChequeredJersey wrote:Very much a top 5 and then all the rest in our league this season!
You say that mate, but Bam and Pooly have brought Sarries and Falcons up and Tigers and (matt may not agree) Gloucester have dropped a little as of the past few seasons. It's not impossible to move up and down!

Re: Season 9 Homepage
I took over almost 7 years ago (I know it's been that long!) with Leeds and was relegated twice on the bounce and then once more later on for good luck. It can be frustrating but getting a couple of gems does really help. I'm just happy to be mid table-Naholo and NMS boosted my chances last season through the draft system but it is getting harder to find those gems all the time.
It is more noticeable the divide at the moment though with the top 5 really pulling away, hopefully the a.i's and 6n's will be good levellers and close the gap a bit.

Re: Season 9 Homepage
I think there is only one game during AIs this year as Anglo-Welsh cup is back. 6Nations will be a big leveller though.
A lot is just keeping hold of (or finding) a few WC players - Props team had massive improvements with his back three players and then just building around those. I was lucky that the Vunipolas and Launchbury came through as had made some shocking deals early on!

Not sure what Heaslip has done to be nominated? Murray & Stander have done more for Ireland in the last year and Isa & Read have done more as 8s. Farrell was great with the boot but probably more deserving players. Between Coles & Barrett for me.

I thought Isa should
Have been on there.
Heaslip had a great tour of SA
And a good season but not same level as isa.
Read had a poor season but decent RC so would say Heaslip more deserving than him.
If it's based on int form
Then Barrett had a great RC but was not first choice until
Then. Also missing as many kicks as he does may preclude him
From winning it.
Coles been exceptional for 12
Months club and country so
For me Walks it

cheers Pooly, but am going to borrow Kilcoyne from CJ for a little bit.
Can't believe Roko has been sent back to Bath, he's been best winger in the AP by a mile this season, but also glad May is back - if Jones can improve him we've got a potential world class player there.

Great to see Daly get a start for England this weekend. He's certainly deserved it with his form for Wasps the last 18 months - hopefully JJ will be fit enough for the bench.
Haven't seen much of Quins this year, but a bit surprised Yarde is ahead of Roko after the games that I've seen. Wonder why Jones doesnt like him as much.

Didn't realise JJ was having issues.
No huge concerns with Daly, big fan of his. If we can get him running outside he could be a threat. Obvious issues with defence but don't think SA have the game plan to exploit....hopefully.

Re: Season 9 Homepage
Groin strain I think.
Daly and Joseph two similarish styles, but just think Daly is better at bringing others into the game, whilst JJ tries to do a bit more himself and better ball in hand. But just like Daly's vision and passing - I don't think we've been brilliant bringing our back three into games, so hopefully might see a bit more this weekend.

JJ has been exceptional for England and unlucky to miss out. But Daly is a more than good enough replacement who's form has been quality. Agree with Pooly that JJ is a more rounded player but Daly's boot is a plus and he is as good a runner as JJ.

A big step up on Daly.
Daly has apparently missed the most tackles in the AP this season, scary thought if SA fire. I think you could be right though CJ.

I like the composition of the forward reserves, a bit of power to come on later.

Re: Season 9 Homepage
Teo'o deserves his spot on the bench, he's been excellent for Worcester, especially since they have had a pack that has gone backwards in a lot of games. How has he qualified for England so quickly?
Could get a lot of impact from George, Sinckler and Hughes - some great ball carriers there. Hopefully a winning side there, espc since SA have been in such bad form.

Te'o has an English mother, so qualified via that route.

Ah, cheers Fluxy. He's been one of the best backs in the AP this season.
Not sure there are any changes I'd make with that team, is it first time Jones has gone with 5-3 split on the bench, must have confidence in the pack to take it to the Boks.

I like that team, it's flexible and can play a number of ways- attacking with 2 playmakers and extra pace in Daly, good kicking set up, pack that will be good at the lineout and can play the old Lancaster breakdown way with 2x6.5, power and impact on the bench, good kick chase from May+Daly

Agree on the kick chase, May and Daly are very good in that department, although also is JJ.

Some very good kicking options from 9-13 - could see a lot of kicking with the aim to pin SA into the corners and challenge them at the lineout with Lawes and Wood as great options to get at the SA throw.

Brown has a huge boot as well, though how accurately he uses it seems to depend on his overall form

Must be a boost for Daly with BOD complimenting him. Looking forward to seeing him start, big fan favourite at Wasps.
