First topic message reminder :
Right folks. This cool cat ain't gonna be here next week. i am off to Englandshire for a couple of days.
It looks like I have chosen not too bad a weekend to be away as most of the games are MUCK. but there are a couple i would like to see. Hopefully I might get to see the saturday night games.

O'Rourke is excellent but Brolly is a cartoon villain

With Brolly? Are you sure? You have never disagreed with Joe Brolly.....ok?
You must not watch the half time of any game ever. At full time do you not always wonder why the bold Joseph is so often eating humble pie.
I appreciate brutal honesty as much as the next guy. Over the last two years, Spillane has reigned it in a great deal. Sat next to that clown Brolly must have been a wake up call.
O'Rourke is honest but he doesn't need to be a cartoon villain to demonstrate it......and I still hate him

Hey All. Just read that Hill 16's capacity is being reduced by 4'000 for the Dubs/Kildare match for "safety reasons".

Rebel your grasp of the english language seems a bit suspect. Do you actually read the posts before responding? I said he was not liked partly for being at times sensationalist but mostly because he analysed the games properly. I think you can be sensationalist and blunt at the same time. Dunphy gets away with it and he was an average player. It makes for good TV.
Also you seem to misquote me on purpose. I said I could not think of anytime I disagreed with Spillane over the years. I did not mention Brolly in this regard.
Also if Brolly gets things wrong, that is irrelevant. Tell me an analyst who has been 100% successful with predictions of how games will pan out. I can't think of any. Also, why do you hate O Rourke?

Sensationalist and blunt are completely at odds with one another.
I quoted you absolutely accurately
I hate O'Rourke because he was a dirtbag in a dirtbag Meath team.
I like o'Rourke because he can speak with a great deal of insight without the window dressing needed by others.
I am dim because you don't know what words mean? ....how very strange

O Rourke was a class act in a dirty Meath team.
To label him as dirty is plain stupidity.

Look up "dirty" in the dictionary and you won't see O'Rourke..............you will see Colm Coyle though!! Coyle was dirtier than Noel O'Leary & Tomas O Se combined!!

He was filthy when he first came on the scene, although i will concede his behaviour over the last 2 years has been fine
Then you have some players who seem to evade the media's(and referees) attentions. Ciaran Whelan was one - i remember a match against Wexford about 3/4 years ago when he committed about 3 red card offences(and one which was a attempt to harm one of the Wexford lads) and got off scott free...........dara O se was another "darling" of the media who was never questioned................there seemed to be a policy in RTE not to highlight the really great players misdemeanours.....................with the likes of Galvin it was just too obvious!!

Re: Live Scores- 11-12/6/11 in absentia
Sent off earlier in the year against the neighbours. Not dirt, just red misht. There is a difference. The cameras didn't catch it but apparently he did react. As i remember, it was a bit of something and nothing.
i got a lift to the airport on monday morning from a fine Kerryman and Durty Darragh came up in conversation. When did it become widely accepted that he was a filthy player? It must have only been in the last year or so. I think he readily accepts he was filthy...but only since he's gone off the scene. .He kinda sees it as honest/filth.....if that makes sense. Nobody would admit it whilst he was playing but once he had admitted it, there wasn't much defending that could be done.
like the dancing boy kennelly and his premeditated attack. that got defended by loads of people ....Then he wrote a book.
Tomas is filthy too, but i don't think Marc is....as has become obvious I am a huge fan of Marc O'Se. I think he is pure class. I reckon he is in a no lose situation playing at FB. If he does well, he's a great man. If he fails, he shouldn't be at Full back anyway.

funny how non basis rte always highlight even a small incident in the ulster championship and the cameras somehow miss it when it happens to the gaa's golden boys from kerry and dublin.

Rebel, you are re-writing history again. As I can recall Galvin got punished for this.
On Colm O Rourke you are way off the mark. Did you watch Gaelic back in the 80's & 90's? O Rourke was one of a number of class players in a strong physical team. The fact that they beat Cork seems to be clouding your judgement.
Finally people in glass houses should not throw stones. Lynch, Cadogan, O Leary, Canty etc...... the list is endless. Thugs the lot!

Yes, I am the one rewriting history.
Meath were not a dirty team
You chose one dirty player. so it seems the list does have an end.
My point was that Galvin was punished.
Do you read the posts before posting?

No.
It was quite obviously sarcasm.
i am sure if Patrick came on here, he would recognise it at such.
I seem to recall we had a discussion that lasted several pages with regards to your stance against Anthony Tohill for legitimately pointing out the dirty play by a dirty player. did you think I had forgotten that? did you think I didn't watch the great media furore about it. Do you think that I missed the biggest Irish sporting scandal of the summer?
Really?
I shall make a point to tell you when i am being sarcastic in future.

Rebel, there you go re-writing history again. I definitely complained about Tohill but in the context of him ignoring offences from players of most other counties. Get your facts straight!

You mentioned Tohill, not me. As far as I can remember he was the only guy who was picking Kerry players every week and ignoring guys like O Hara from Sligo. Why was there nearly a boycott of the International series by Kerry players. It was pretty obvious.

No sir, it is in no way a daft question
It is a question that I posed with the absolute and certain knowledge that if you answered it honestly you would lose the argument and if you tried to deflect from it, you would lose the argument.
It was a win/win for me...and lo and behold....I won.

Are you telling me that every offence by every player was given the same treatment by the Sunday game panel. If you believe that I would say you are in a minority of one over the whole country. So you think the CCCC system is perfect?

Well it was a simple question really, even for someone like you. If you do not want to answer it that is fine. It is black and white really. Most people would be able to give an answer. Do you think TSG analysed all incidents by all players equally during the 2010 championship? If you answer Yes that is fine. If you answer No that is fine. You will not get penalised or anything.

You have had more than your fair share of chances with your little jibes at me aka.
I have let them slide because it is obvious to anyone reading this that you are not smart enough to comprehend the point I was trying to make to Patrick and had picked up the wrong end of the stick....again.
I have no idea why you would want to revisit an argument that you comprehensively lost nearly a whole year ago. Unless of course you have devised a new and ingenious argument to foil me? Based on previous form, I think it fair to say that you haven't.
I made a flippant comment to Patrick which you took literally. You know that I am aware of the media furore over Galvin which is why I assumed, wrongly, that you would have been able to pick up the less than subtle lacing of sarcasm attached to it. I am sure the intended recipient of the comment understands the nuances of sarcasm and was able to work out that I was suggesting that his assertion that the Ulster teams don't get a fair shake was not credible.
In answer to your irrelevant question, yes the sunday game dealt fairly with all the incidents they chose to highlight last season. Editorially they could have chosen to deal with other things, but they were fair in what they dealt with.

Knob is the word you were looking for I think.
Tohill is a tool from the north just like his sidekick Brolly who both admire PUKE football.
Kerry and Cork could field a whole team of thugs between them.

Yes, I can spell. I just didn't want to fall foul of the moderators.
Tohill is nowhere near the same class of tool as as Brolly. Not even remotely so. He calls the games rather well imo.
AKA dislikes him because he accurately pointed out the thuggish behaviour of Paul Galvin. i don't think Cork and Kerry could field a team of thugs.

I believe the nerds on the internet refer to comments like that as self-pwnage.
The point being that Clarkson is a massive knob.
Ergo you agree that there is a degree of irony in getting patronised for my perceived failings by someone with evidently greater and more marked failings.
I'm going to make you start calling me sir if you carry on in this vein.
