Queens Day 1
We have the first day of play at this lovely court event. First up is Tursunov who Henman fans will remember up against Feli Lopez.
Murray will be at this event as will Nadal and Del Potro and Roddick
Daniel Cox and James Ward will battle for a second round place and some eyes will be on young Oliver Golding

Re: Queens Day 1
Lopez is trying to serve and volley and is either getting burnt by the return or missing the volley. Still deuce on Lopez's service game.

If Golding can take just a set MFC I will find that encouraging.

Re: Queens Day 1
Lopez won the first set 7-6.
MFC play is still continuing. No sign of a rain delay.
Some more British tennis news. Heather Watson has defeated Channelle Scheepers 6-3 7-5 in Birmingham, while Laura Robson lost 3-6 6-3 6-4 to Pliskova in final qualifying for Nottingham. Reports suggest she is struggling with injury.

Re: Queens Day 1
yep I've noticed that killar. Seems like a good performance by Ward. Harrison has broken Berrer in the second set, having lost the first on a TB.

Berrer seems to be upping his performances.
You are lucky not to be watching it live with Pat Cash moaning about tennis. He sounds like he doesn't enjoy the sport!!
Lopez just broke Tursunov with great defensive volley at the net.

Always thought Tursunov had a fair modicum of talent...he didnt seem to fulfill his potential somehow. He played last week at Nottingham on grass too (I used to go and watch that event) so should be grass-savvy this week.

He has been broken MFC, but he has played well. I am impressed with his serve and forehand. Some fine tuning and he can do well.

Re: Queens Day 1
Mahut wins, Golding had a few chances but couldn't take them, while Mahut took his, and that made the difference in the end.

Re: Queens Day 1
MFC, I was impressed with Golding. Some very encouraging signs. Big serve, big forehand. Backhand needs a little tweak and as does the forehand.
Again his is what is frustrating with British Mens tennis, Murray will be 27/28 before Golding starts to peak near the top 100. Need more players to peak at the same time.
