Re: Queens Day 2
fancy Mahut to upset Verdasco. Del Potro should have too much for Istomin, while the Roddick Lopez game will prob come down to a couple of TBs. Tsonga will beat Berrer fairly easily

Re: Queens Day 2
Del Potro won in straight sets.
Roddick and Lopez are on serve in the first set. Good net play from both.
Think Verdassco might scrape through against Mahut.
Think Tsonga might have his hands full against Berrer.

MFC have you seen the wildcard announcements? Posted them on the thread.
Delpo was first on at 12:30pm. Looks like they will get another days play in without any weather disruption.

I'm keeping track of the Lopez Roddick match on the AEGON website which has a little Hawkeye virtual replay for every point, and it just said that Lopez hit an ace at 168mph.. surely a mistake?!

The scores on the website are down yet again!!
Roddick took the first set on a tiebreaker. 7-6
In the second we are on serve and Lopez leads 5-4

Could we see the biggest shock of the tournament?
James Ward a set up against Wawrinka and a break up in the 2nd.

James Ward took the first set and is up 4 - 1 in the second.
Is Stan carrying an injury or what because a scoreline like this should see Ward as a regular player in ATP events which sadly he isn't.

Not sure SL
I would be delighted for James Ward if he did pull this off.

James Ward to serve for the match. Quite brilliant stuff from the young man.

Re: Queens Day 2
James Ward has done it. He has beaten Stanislas Wawrinka 7-6 6-3. Fantastic stuff. This has been a positive couple of days for British tennis. With Golding putting on a gutsy display yesterday and now Ward today. Brilliant stuff.

James Ward will face defending champion Sam Querry in the 3rd round. Could see we another upset?

Re: Queens Day 2
He looked solid from what I saw. Queens courts are playing beautifully and quick and he made the adjustment brilliantly. His winners were just skidding off the court. Got to be considered a contender at Wimbledon.

Re: Queens Day 2
He looked pretty good (although sometimes looks abit wooden on grass to me) but got strapping on his leg so that could be a worry.
Cant believe Ward beat Stan The Man...what a dip of form for Stan.

Was it a dip or Ward was awesome?
I haven't seen Raonic on grass either. But considering his style of play, he can also show good result at Wimby.

Raonic is somewhat of an unknown quantity on grass. He does seem to have a solid game and he has had some impressive results. It shall be interesting to see what draw he gets.

Re: Queens Day 2
Yeah I said yesterday I think Raonic is the proverbial dark horse at Wimbers.
Ward played wellish but Stan isnt the player of 12 mths ago, lacking self-belief at the moment. Sometimes he seems to exert or show no passion for the game at all.

I think Stan is at that stage now where he needs to look at what level he can take his game to. He played well in the FO and that comeback against Tsonga should've done his confidence the world of good.

He has some of the best groundstrokes in the game, great serve, etc and he should be staple top 10 but he seems to lack fire in his belly alot of the time.

I think partly its the Federer effect for Wawrinka. If he were the only player in the elite for his country he'd probably be praised often and be happier/more positive on court.

Re: Queens Day 2
Thats a fair point, cant be easy being under Fed's shadow all those years, and for a small country like Switzerland Stan would have normally stood out as a leading sportsman...just bad luck I guess.
Still, his game seems to be going backwards at the moment...losing to Ward has to be a bad low point.
