Queens Day 5
Good morning tennis fans. This is squeaky bum time for those wanting to make a statement on the grass. Today's schedule is:
Verdassco v Roddick 12:30pm Centre Court
Ward v Querrey 1:00pm Court 1
Murray v Cillic to follow Verdassco v Roddick
Nadal v Tsonga to follow the above match
Ward or Querrey v Mannarino to round things off
Can Ward possibly cause another major upset? The match is going into a deciding final set. For British Sky viewers on Monday on Sky Sports News at 7:30pm is a special report on Womens no.1 Caroline Wozniacki.

Re: Queens Day 5
Morning yummy.
Well if Verdassco and Roddick finish in half an hour it would be the worst conflict in a tournament for a while, since the good days of Tim and Greg.
Just a note during that match last night, someone yelled out 'C'mon England' and I thought please never Andy and James meet at Wimbledon as we may see the anti-Scot brigade!

I work quite near to Queens Club and currently there is a thunderstorm and heavy rain. No chance of play starting on time although it is getting a bit brighter now

Still awaiting news from Queens. Got to feel for James Ward who must be desperate to get out on the court.

Nice to see a mod on the tennis boards with some tennis acumen.
No disrespect to the others but each unto his own.

Would like to see Nando do well here against ARod as he has been in a slump for a while now, he can(when he wants) play some exciting tennis.

Not sure how quick the camera's will get to court 1. Interesting will we see the debacle we saw at the FO with Del Potro v Djokovic when that match was moved? I am sure people bought centre court tickets hoping for Murray v Cillic

Re: Queens Day 5
Just if anyone is interested. On Tuesday night Jonathan Overend the tennis correspondent for the BBC will be doing a Wimbledon Preview show on Radio 5 Live. Tickets are still available if you wish to attend. His guest will be Wimbledon 2001 Champion Goran Ivanisevic. I would like to know what he made of the Sun Newspaper reports on the following day from his triumph by where they delcared him an honourary Brit. The show starts at 8:30pm.

Re: Queens Day 5
Ward fires down a second serve ace at 30-30. What guts. Match point. Ward goes long on the forehand. Deuce. He looks like a young Alex Reid. Dang. Break point for Querrey. Big first serve. Deuce. Another match point for Ward. And he is through!!! Amazing

Thanks yummy.
It is quite remarkable the week he has had. Now he faces Mannarino the lowest ranked player left above him. What a chance he has.

Rain has disrupted play. What a day for the Brits. Ward through before the heavens open up and also Murray through without a sweat broken. Brilliant.

Mannarino is better than I thought - 54th in the world so its a big ask for Ward to beat 2 top players on 1 day!

I think Ward has a chance. Mannarino not been that far in a Masters event. It is a great opportunity.

James Ward v an increasingly tired looking Nadal would certainly make for an interesting game tomorrow

That would be too much to ask. A tired Nadal could take Ward in 2. Be a great experience for him though.
