Queens Day 3
Tennis fans this is where the big guns come out to play. We have Britains Andy Murray in action against Xavier Malisse. Rafael Nadal against Matthew Ebden. Juan Martin Del Potro takes on Igor Kunitsyn. Nadal will be in doubles action later today too. Britain's hero in the making James Ward gets the day off after putting Stanislas Wawrinka. The courts have been playing beautifully and makes me want to get a back garden court. Let's hope the weather is kind too.

Interesting career statistics. I thought I would dig out the doubles record of the top 4 and here they are:
Nadal - 89-54 - 7 career titles
Djokovic - 30-40 - 1 career title
Federer - 115-74 - 8 career titles
Murray - 33-45 - 1 career title

Rain forecast not great all week - could be a headache for the organisers!

While we have this rain delay, I am thinking of a new racket. I am wondering with the people that post, what their favourite racket is?

I have a Volkl Pro-10, nice thin frame.
Alot depends on your style of strokes and grip you use.
I would get a good tennis shop to lend you 4-5 racquets and hit with them all so you can cross-compare. And dont forget the strings make a huge difference too.

I have a Babolat and I am tempted by the Wilson Pro BLX, though I am fan of the Babolat Aeropro Drive. I actually play a lot of topspin.

Murray is 3-0 in the first. Malisse I always think what could've been had he not suffered those early injuries in his career. He is not scared to go for the big winners. Love the attitude of the guy.

Murray 3-1 and guess what. Reach for the brollies and the covers. Play suspended due to rain.

LK...the Babs are popular although of course you cant get the Nadal racquet anymore as he plays with the last model (AeroPro Drive without cortex), not the current one (with cortex). They are usually just painted to look like the current models, same with Fed's, etc.
I've also got some Fischer racquets (98sqin) from the 90s which Kafelnikov used, have got fabulous feel. Some of the older racquets are great and many pros today use the old racquets - Roddicks and Nadals date back to early 2000 and Fed's is a modification of the 80s Wilson Prostaff 6.0 (made larger basically and a bit lighter) so its using 30 yr old technology. Who said latest was the greatest....these guys dont mess around with their racquets. However Nole did and hence the 'lost season' in 2009 he experienced before he resurged after switching back.
You can get some cracking 'old' racquets on Ebay if you know what you're looking forward without spending £400 on 2 new racquets that wont improve your game but will make Wilson, Babolat, etc, happy. Save the racquet money and get the best strings.
Give them a swing LJ.

Re: Queens Day 3
I was gutted about the old AeroPro because I saw one and it sold! Grrrr
I keep my eyes on Ebay to see the old rackets.
Thanks for the tip.
