Lions in 2017
Are a little bit overstated
Do you Think tigers or even leopards deserve more media exposure
Do you think Lions on TV is an outdated concept from when Richard (or even David) Attenborough was an amateur and in the day of professional productions as well as of course the over crowding in nature programming on multiple channels it is time to retire the lion
Your thoughts please

This kind of overt speciesism is exactly what I've come to expect from the current political climate, but absolutely cannot be tolerated!

I thought Dickie Attenborough was more into dinosaurs than Lions.

A grizzly bear will always beat a lion in a fight off.

Frankly your view on this matter bears no relevance. As a species indigenous to South America your contact with the lion can only be via the media.

Back in the old days of Empire (God Bless it ) those touring Alfa-men often bagged a sack of Lions before breakfast. Those good old days are gone now and now the new generation of beta-male players spend the days in between games doing something called 'training' and fashion-shoots. What a joke our modern ways are. Lets get back to real Trophies coming home.

"Lion Country: Night and day" on ITV is quite a good watch though!
Narrated by someone who sounds awwfy like Liam Neeson but isn't Liam Neeson!

Is it like a kind of Lion soap? "Charles, the resident male Lion, has gown tired of Rachel, one of his wives, and decides to go down to the Waterhole for a few drinks with the lads."

It actually is!
There's one pride who are ruled by three brothers! They've got messed up manes and are called "the punks"

Hmmm..., not a fan of personalised wildlife narratives.
Plus................. gotta ask? Do they have those little 'making of' sections at the end of each episode where they take a look at the filmmakers? I detest those sections too.

it's funny though when they show you Richard setting up a dozen cameras, sitting in a hide for 37 hours, having to sit in his own urine and cr@p (especially given he's got the runs), waiting for the perfect shot a family of elephants only for said elephants to trample over his cameras and he ends up with no usable footage!

Especially if the instigating elephant is that temperamental Bitch Suzie, who has always had it in for Richard from the very first day he arrived in her territory.

I am amazed the Alfa men ever got to the ground on time. Most Alfa owners spend most of their time at the roadside waiting for the AA.Luckless Pedestrian wrote:SecretFly wrote:Back in the old days of Empire (God Bless it ) those touring Alfa-men often bagged a sack of Lions before breakfast. Damn those f**king 'Ph's and 'e's! My head is wrecked keeping up with them.
Meanwhile, the only Alfa I remember that ever existed in and around my family, never started without a mouthful of "f**k"s to get it going and then only kept going if the journey wasn't longer than to the front gate and back again.

Alfalfa is both nutritious and probably helps lose people pounds, if they drizzle a gallon of olive oil over it.
