He's been tearing up trees in the Pro 12 for a number of years now. Very tough in contact.

In his mid 20s - been around a few years and we were worried he wasn't big enough for international rugby. We were wrong!

Well done Scotland. A well deserved win.
Wales, I haven't seen us play so bad for ages. Dreadful. How many knock ons? Absolutely dire. I'm ashamed that we didn't given them more of a game. So disappointed.
A real b*mming.

RIP Welsh Rugby-Laid to rest at Murrayfield 25 February 2017.Brought down by brainless and inept play, absence of skill, mistakes and the coaching of the numpties employed by the WRU.The SRU would like to thank the contribution of Biggar,Halfpenny and North to the Scottish win today. The WRU announce Howley to be Welsh Coach until 2030.

I should be really angry at Wales, but I'm actually more happy for Scotland. That's the first time since the turn of the century we might actually see Scotland getting back to where they were in the early 90's. Certainly this is their best team since 1999.
They have finally turned the corner. Sadly I think Wales have replaced them as the cack British side now.

Yup, that ended up as a bit of a thrashing tbh, though few Welshmen did themselves justice from 35' on.

20-0 in a half is dreadful.
Scotland were class second half. But we were so so poor. Happy for this guy Barclay though

What a cracking game.
Looks like it could be Wales v Italy for the ( WOODEN SPOON ) this year.
AWJ again turning down a chance of points. Going instead for a line out and Loosing it again.
Not the sort of person you wan't for a Lions captain. now is it.

Great fight-back from Scotland. Stopped allowing themselves to be bullied around the park and started doing some of their own. As soon as Wales realised they were losing the physical dominance game they only had some hopeful spark or break to rely on or trust in.

It isn't Wales v Italy for the wooden spoon (no need for the brackets). We've beaten them and where do you suggest they will win to draw level on wins with us? Even the points difference? Think before you post please.

How is Howley in ANY position of coaching responsibility? We were lucky several first choice Scottish players weren't available.Play like that against Ireland's 3/4s and we'll be looking at a right tuning.

That simply isn't the case, if you look at the junior player base in Scotland it's actually much bigger than Wales. Truth be told the junior game in Wales is almost totally dead. Years and years of under investment by Roger Lewis will take it's toll over the next few years. Most grass roots Welsh clubs are on their knees. With little or no youth interest in the game. I think we are now of the verge of serious decline in Welsh rugby, in the way Italy have fallen backwards.

My hope, as ever, is that he'll bring his club form to the international table.
I hate to contradict my esteemed friend but.... Turnstile Tim's display against the Wallabies was one of the most inept and embarrassing I have witnessed on a rugby field. And I include young Pipetto's frequent impersonations of a traffic policeman at rush hour on the Via Gran. It's not that he can't tackle it's that he actively gets out of the way of opposing players, or "Those nasty, brutish big boys" as he calls them.
I like to think that I'm slightly less choleric than GC's Mildly Racist Uncle Dougie, but McMisser's performance that day verged on cowardice in the face of the enemy. I say "verged on" because he only sporadically got close enough to the action to qualify as a coward: the rest of the time he was well and truly MIA.
He really needs to show some backbone on Saturday; fecc it, if he gets a red for chinning Dan Biggar (as in my petted lip is biggar than yours) I'll forgive him.
Well, shut my mouth wide open.Tim Visser makes try, and possibly game, saving tackle. He wasn't MIA and he really showed up today.
Must go now, have words to eat, with humble pie for after s.

If Howley gets sacked from the Welsh job how can he go on s lions tour? - I'm convinced Gatland only gives his blessing to the WRU for Howley to do his job to make himself look better, like a bride does with her bridesmaids!

Don't get on here much any more but had to pop back to say a big well done to Scotland, making Barclay Capt was a good move by Cotter and recognition for how big an influence he can have. Great choice of MOM as Russel outclassed Biggar right from the point that he psyched him out at the start of the game and Dan lost his cool. Could say something good about every player in a blue shirt tbh but will just say it's good to see Scotland back.

Couple of my compatriots in danger of WUMmimg here: stop it fellers, and simply acknowledge a great day for, and performance from, Scotland. Barring the sensational, Italy are a shoo-in for the Wooden Spoon, but the order of those finishing just above them is anyone's guess.

We can't blame Howley for this, lets face it the Welsh players are just really cack. That players that have come in over the last few seasons have been totally inferior to the ones that got old and retired.
Shane Williams, Hibbard, Adam Jones, Ian Evans, Gethin Jenkins, etc haven't been replaced like for like.
Wales just don't have the youth interest in the game, so hence we don't have talented players coming through. Expect to see Wales slide badly over the next few years.

I read something warning this in one of the papers a while back. They said they feared a permanent decline due to a massive failure to develop youth.
to be fair they've kept competing at U20 (though not been good enough at WC level).

As a youth coach at U7 and U8 I can assure you the interest is there with the kids. I think the WRu are starting to get the coaching support in place as well now.
As for the players named above I would argue young players now playing in their positions are every bit as good as they where at the same age. I.e. Shane or North, Adam or Samson, Ianto or Ball, Gethin or Rob Evs, each of the current incumbents are still young players and we are building for a WC in a little over 2 years. Time will tell.
