Should comfortably take the title, hence why Nuno Santo wasn't even interested in the Everton job. Not a surprise given the Chinese/Mendes influence.

Hmm, Terry subbed off now 2-0 down.
Our first home defeat of the season then, looking like it.

I am assuming Coleman the Sunderland job is a temporary thing anyway. He was talking about going back abroad to manage a while ago. Far better managing a crap club in Spain than a crap club in England hey
Anyway...Cardiff third at the moment. I would have taken that at the beginning of the season

2-0 win against Forest away. We'll take that. Just need to try and slowly pull away from the playoff positions

Decent point away from home.
Good response in the second half.
Pleased for Lansbury. Get rid of the man bun and he gets a goal.
Great to see young Jack get on. Some good touches.
Hopefully he can push on and get in the starting 11.
Hopefully 3 points at home to Millwall next sat.

I didn't see the match but great to get 3 goals away from home after going 1-0 down against the mutants. Just hope we don't have our usual Xmas dip which ends screwing it all up

Certainly not Middlesbrough though. Rumours going round that if we lose to Ipswich, Monk will be gone. To be honest I hope they're true. I'm not normally one for sacking managers mid-season, unless we're in / near the relegation zone, but the last few performances we've just looked absolutely clueless. Worse, Monk has looked & sounded equally clueless in the post-match interviews. He looks haunted, beaten and just keeps repeating the same old crap about taking responsibility and needing to do better. Doesn't sound even remotely convinced he has any idea how to turn things around.
The players have zero belief, confidence or organisation and I'm pretty sure that what it currently a large blip, will become a fairly rapid freefall, if Monk stays.
No idea who we would get to replace him, but if Steve Gibson's got any sense he will already be scouting around for someone in the same mould as Nuno Santo. Someone who can restore some organisation and get us playing effective attacking football. Currently all we can do is pass the ball around the middle of the park. Absolutely toothless going forward and we may as well have cardboard cut-outs in defence.

Didn’t think we would win today.
Played 70 minutes with no striker won’t help.
With Kodjia out for the foreseeable future, we could do with getting someone decent in jan. possibly a loan.

Poor performance. Lucky to even get a point.
Need to be a bit more aggressive and look like they want it.
2-0 up, then threw it away.
Fair play to Sheffield United.
Really miss Terry and Kodjia.
Would rather play Elphick at centre back than Jedinak.

Had a free ticket for the Cardiff game tonight but been a bit rough and off to Amsterdam on the 1st so elected to watch it on the box. So glad I did. Both teams were poor and at some points it looked more like a game of volleyball. Cardiff were poorest and Preston to be fair worked for their late goal. No chance of going up playing that bad

Probably not the best time to play Forest after this weekend, but mainly, first game with new manager at the helm, always tricky for the opposing side.
For us, we need to forget about Saturday and hopefully pick up 3 more points.
Hopefully Bruce will play same side that thumped Bristol City, or very similar at least.

4-0 against Sunderland. Yes they are bottom of the league...but given the way we have been playing a anything other than a win could have really been a disaster
I am slightly gutted though. We scored the fourth goal with 5 seconds to go and I stood to win £30 if it had finished 3-0
Ah well...if that fourth goal eventually counts towards promotion I'll take that financial loss

Interesting to hear that the championship is the third most watched league in Europe.

Yeah it is by far the best second tier in the world. I would still rather be a Bundesliga fan thoughwestisbest wrote:Interesting to hear that the championship is the third most watched league in Europe.

Terracing, cheap tickets and you can still have a beer while watching the game as far as I am aware
I sneaked in some vodka when I went to watch Barcelona v Sporting Lisbon last month and drank it with some coke. None of the stewards seemed that bothered to be fair
I am thinking of going to Munich later this year so will try and tie that in with a Bayern Champions League match. Pretty easy to get tickets for anything nowadays
Back to rainy old Britain though...hope we get the 3 needed points against the posher Sheffield club this evening. Live on Sky again thankfully

Not to take away from it being a good league but it's aggregate attendance - championship has 24 teams so about 300 extra games to tot this up compared to the major European leagues.

Must win game today to go second.
Pretty confident we can make it 7 wins in a row, won’t be easy as the blues are doing better.
Doesn’t matter that we are playing Birmingham, want the win to go second more than anything else.

Decent night for edging away from the bottom 3.
14 clear with 10 to go should make the rest of the season uneventful.

Very tight up near the top end.
Fulham seem to be the team to watch now.
Ourselves and Cardiff picking up wins again.
Home to wolves Saturday. Confident we can get the win.
Goal difference could come into it to.

I think this year Burton will be relegated - they are just too small a club to survive long term in the Championship.
Not sure what's happened to Sunderland - looks like it could be back to back relegation despite the advantage of having the parachute payment.

Great win for the Villa.
Had a feeling we would win.
Always needed to be a couple of goals ahead.
Lucky wolves weren’t given that pen at 3-1, not sure how the ref missed it.
Some statement to beat the league leaders 4-1 all the same.
QPR h
Bolton a
Hopefully 6 points.

I actually got snowed in for the first time ever, a couple of weeks ago. Only a foot of powder and 2-3 inches of compacted snow, but it was enough to stop my car going anywhere. Found I could cycle through / over it though. Modern cars suck!
Anyway, back on topic, Pulis hasn't turned out to be a total nightmare, as some of us feared. Results & performances were no better than under Monk for a while, but we seem to be getting a bit of form and team spirit now. Unbeaten in 6 and won 4 of those.
Still don't think we have much to play for. Even if we finish in the play-offs, there are a couple of teams above us who are significantly better / more consistent. That said Pulis has done a good job of organising us and getting our attacking players performing - indications of a better 2018-19 season?
Also keeping an eye on how Karanka does at Forest...good luck to him.
Oh and Leeds fans have stopped giving us grief over Monk now...
