Re: Homepage - Page 2
barritt is a great defender but his attacking game for me is crash ball and nothing else really. prefer hape think he runs better lines, offloads better. looking forward to seeing him at irish, outside bowden could be a great combo for us. massive shoes to fill with mapusua leaving.
when we say poor hands, its in comparison to other 12's, nonu gets labelled for poor hands when in reality they arent but compared to a 12 like barnes and jauzion they are.

Re: Homepage - Page 2
Don't think it's a matter of his hands not being as good , I think Barnes and Jauzion look like they have better hands because there reaction times and vision is leaps and bounds ahead of most centers.
1) Premiership final 2010 - Barritt Slips a killer inside pass to Andy Saull who cuts the Tigers defense wide open after some nifty footwork from BB. Can't be that bad of a player?
2) South Africa 39 Australia 41 - Barnes takes the ball from Cooper within minutes of entering the most intense test arena and slips it back in to Drew Mitchell to score under the sticks.
In my mind Barritt wouldn't have made the second scenario happen as he doesn't have the same reaction speed as someone of Barnes which will prevent him from being world class but otherwise is a fantastic footballing rugby player.

Barrit was never 1st. Choice 10 for the sharks amazed if he ever started
At ten for them driver. His lack of
Pace it what renders him dreadful in attack.

No hands, useless in attack, can't pass, no pace............each time somebody defends him he gets worse in your estimation!
For such a bad player I seem to remember you been pretty keen to sign him before I did

Just a little Nick! I used to bite but just find it funny now. Be careful if you ever critisise one of his though....,
I said Coonie has a weakness with scrummaging and I got told it was the locks, WP Nel, god and Hitlers fault rather than Coonie!
He's pretty funny sometimes

Re: Homepage - Page 2
I've drew up a normal Matt conversion (he's going to kick off!!!!)...all in humour Matt, I love yer really
Me - Tommy Bowe is a good winger
Matt - he has little pace
Me - I don't know Matt he's pretty rapid, seen him outstrip many a winger
Matt - He has no pace and gets lost in games, he also can't tackle or kick
Me - Not sure about that like
Matt - he's possibly the worst winger that has ever played the game of rugby and deserves to be hung, drawn and quatered
Me - little over the top Matt
Matt - He is the devil spawn and pure anti-christ, I suspect Tommy Bowe will form and evil army and attempt to take over the world!!!!
Me - Habana hasn't been that great lately Matt either
Matt - It's not his fault, the ball they use when he plays is often lead lined with lead and makes him move slower and Fourie, JDV etc can't pass and the Stormers pack is poor and in SA it's hot....... and this one time in bandcamp........yes officer, the bad man touched me there and there
Me - Is that right lol
Matt - Habana is the next messiah and is to be worshiped for he is....Jesus incarnated....all hail Habana!!!!!

I'd be sick if I was Andrew Bishop. Dropped from Welsh WC squad for Henson who has been messing around with clubs for a month and going on dating shows.
Bishop, make no mistake is know world beater but is a good honest professional who has been vital for the Ospreys and deserves a chance to impress
whereas Henson is a nob. Henson lives in the past more then some of my beloved LFC supporters

Henson is a joke beyond belief , he needed to start playing well before even thinking about returning to international rugby.
He was five knuckle shuffle vs the Barbarians , and played reasonably well for Sarries in the game he was injured vs Leinster at 13. I do think he'd be quite a good 13 if he got his head sorted.

Wouldnt be celebraating yet driver mate.
Seems to be only a small tear should be healed up in time but maybe lacking a bit of fitness. Won't stop him from being picked though Humphs, keatley etc arent ready.

See Ferris is back in training which is a massive plus for Ireland. Think SOB will be the bench man come RWC. up the intensity when he comes on.

Re: Homepage - Page 2
Dont know mate SOB may be the starter and Ferris the bench man. His knee is supposedly fairly shot so he will be managed pretty well particularly through the group. Would love to see 6. Ferris 7. SOB 8. Heaslip and Jennings (is he injured for the world cup cant remember but thought i saw that somewhere) on the bench . Would do some serious damage and Jennings would get some joy at the breakdown against tired legs. But Kidney will proobally go with Wallace at 7 and stick SOB/Ferris on bench

Wouldn't drop Wallace personally think he still gets round the pitch reasonably well and pops up on the end of offloads and gets over the gainline but him and Jennings two totally different players.
Glad i'v got both!

But the thing is mate is SOB does all that but better! Most peoples argument to SOB at 7 is you need a traditional 7 in your back row but Ireland have done pretty well for the last near on 10 years without 1!
Think SOB playing the way he did this year in the Heino is good enough to start for any country in the world. How England could do with a back rower like him

Pooly i am a massive fan of Bowe. Think he is one of the best in the world but not based on last years form.
I tried to sign Barrit and still would. He is English and would not let my side down in certain games as his defence is outstanding
Still stand by lack of pace and handling.
thought Ferris was finished for life pooly. that was your favourite topic of last year.,
Anyone noticed how poor the BBC Rugby news is. Only just announcing SMIT and Louw signings like they are new news.
When does Tri Nations start??

Was only a mess around Matt, used as an example of how our conversations normally go.
I've read numerous that Ferris may never be fully back. Big difference between training and playing for a season. I'm a huge fan and think he's top 5 BS about so hope he comes back.

Rules for Domestic Transfers from other UK clubs outside the Premiership
1. All domestic transfers need to state (i) full name of player (ii) club signing from and (iii) the initial bidding price.
2. The bid will be accepted/rejected after 24hours.
3. However, if a player is dual-registered the player whose club he is dual registered with will automatically get the opportunity to call that player up into their academy. They will have 48 hours after the initial bid to declare that this is what they are doing. The player must be named in their academy and if they are over the 20 player limit they will have to remove a player from the academy.
4. If this is not done within 48 hours of the original bid being accepted then they will not be entitled to have that player in their academy.
5. There will also be a premium rate for players that move clubs in this way, with a minimum of £1m being paid to the club that loses its academy prospect by means of compensation. This figure will be decided by the person responsible for domestic transfers.
6. If a young player is signed from a rugby league club they will NOT then form part of your own academy unless they are under 18. If you would like an over 18 year old to join your club you must bid from them in the same way you would do a Championship player

What are people's opinion of Shane Geraghty on here - just watching him play versus Bath on ESPN and he was very good. Trying to work out whether I would get slated for playing him or not?
Personally think he will thrive in France and he would have got a lot more game time at Saints if he wasnt stupid and decide to get drunk in France when Saints played away and pi ss on Jim Mallinder's hotel room door. That's why he got dropped - the idiot.

Flakey Chris. Best at 10 though. Thing is with players on here they tend to get labeled with their weaknesses rather than strengths and Geraghty has a fair few.

To me I think he's one of those players who can turn a game from the bench - will always remember how he played against the French a few years ago. Was awesome, but then never moved forward. His kicking isnt the best either...such a good attacker though

Jonny I hope ferris is back for the game of rugby.
Absolute dynamo.
Don't think his all round game as good as juan smiths but his carrying is much better. Smith is best 6 in world and one of my favourite players
6 Is hardest position on the pitch physically so no wonder both smith and ferris are often injured

Whenever I see Gloucester are playing a team with geraghty in it I always think we will win this.
His tackling is up there with cips. I dont think his game management is very good.
Actually think he is a good sub when chasing a game. France made Steven jones in to a much better player so may do with Shane.
Apparently he is a lazy trainer and that always gets coaches wound up

I heard he had a bit of a problem with drink - he had a massive falling out with Mallinder last year during HC. They played a game away in France and SG got smashed after the game, went and tried to urinate on Mallinder's hotel door. Mallinder heard him told him to F off, as you would and SG came back 10 mins later and nearly got a beating!
Didnt play much after that...

Come on lads everyone knows that any of the backline positions are harder to play than the forwards - you require brains in the backs for starters :-)
Hardest position for me was fullback, hated it with a passion - so much pressure if you made a mistake and positional play had to be spot on. Never liked it there!

From the positions i'v played i found playing 10 quite a challenge , naturally being a back row i was lost there my first game but luckily i only play there if we're short all though i'v been told to go with the backs most of pre-season so it's a worry i'm going to end up there.
I'd say 3 is the hardest position , my favorite position i'v played is 9 , Love it!
