Thanks - where did you see that? I clicked on broadcast schedule and it just showed a load of games without saying who was actually broadcasting it...

This isn't going to help but I just went here:
http://www.pro14rugby.org/broadcast-schedule/
Which is where I think you went as well so maybe they have just updated it. Also I took a punt with BBC Alba and checked their schedule
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/schedules/bbcalba/20170929
As I say probably just updated since you checked.

Re: Leinster V Edinburgh
Strange, when I click on the link it doesn't show any of the broadcasters! I did think it was a bit of a useless broadcast schedule...
Anyway, Leinster will be smarting after last week's defeat against the Cheetahs and will be tired after the journey back from SA. Edinburgh aren't going into the game with overly much momentum.
Any Irish fans know if Leinster are going to bring their big guns back any time soon?

Do any of the Leinster fans have any opinion of how Adamson did last week? Think he was tied to Scotland and we rarely produce refs.

Adamson was singled out for special praise by Stuart Barnes in his Sky Sports article this week. Would be good to get a Scottish ref on the international scene.

Re: Leinster V Edinburgh
Teams not announced yet but Lancaster came home early from SA to prepare the weekend team - according to the Indy we will likely see all 5 Lions plus Toner and Fardy so pretty much fully loaded for some part of the game at least.
"Leinster's bid to bounce back from last week's disappointing defeat to the Cheetahs is set to be boosted by the return of their five Lions for Friday's visit of Edinburgh.
Stuart Lancaster returned from South Africa late last week as he stepped up the reintegration of Johnny Sexton, Sean O'Brien, Robbie Henshaw, Tadhg Furlong and Jack McGrath into the squad.
Sexton (wrist), O'Brien (shoulder) and Henshaw (pectoral) suffered injuries on the tour in New Zealand, while both props were given an extended break following a gruelling season.
Lancaster insisted that there was "no reason" all five players couldn't feature at the RDS on Friday as they took a full part in training yesterday.
Devin Toner and Scott Fardy missed Leinster's eventful mini-tour of South Africa due to personal reasons but they are also in line to feature against Edinburgh."

Re: Leinster V Edinburgh
Nice to see Fraser McKenzie getting some recognition. He seems the most visibly imposing of our locks which you would think would appeal to Cockerill.
Mini Bryce was defensively excellent at the end of last season so you can see why he gets the nod over Kinghorn after the last couple games.
22 point handicap for a Lienster win which is maybe a little generous given our defensive effort after a red card last week. Maybe the bookies expect/know we'll get another one this week?
It's all a conspiracy.

Cockers ringing a few changes, which is probably no bad thing.
Good to see the sevens boys get their chance as well as the two props on the bench. Mccallam may yet be needed for Scotland in the autumn if we keep going through LHs at the current rate!

Actually not too bad a side for the flower pressers. Good stodgy pack.
The problem is that I've heard they've got a bit of game in Dublin. That they're quite good, even.

Re: Leinster V Edinburgh
At first glance it looks like a weaker Edinburgh team and that he's already accepting defeat for this game, but then I realise we don't yet have a first choice team yet and there's not really much between any of the players. if they were all a high standard that would be great but they're really not high standard!
Based on current fitness and form I've made a guess at 1st V 2nd choice teams - it would be close between the two!
1st choice
1 Marfo
2 McInally
3 Nel
4 Toolis
5 Gilchrist
6 Ritchie
7 Watson
8 Brabury
9 SHC
10 Weir

6 Miller
7 Hardie
8 CDP
9 Fowles
10 Tovey
11 Brown

Probably worth calling out that McCallum is primarily seen as a TH, don't think he's played anything else under RC, so I don't think we can class him as a LH anymore.

He's not played at all under RC other than pre-season!
He is a TH but is named one the bench as LH cover for the Leinster game and I suspect he'll be needed for the foreseeable future given our lack of LHs currently available.

Both fair points, I guess though other than during this short term LH nightmare we are facing he wouldn't be considered at LH

As I said my teams were based on current fitness - those two are the only currently available other than that young hooker/loosehead that we recently signed.

He was a LH when he played u20s and did pretty well from what I can remember. Only started playing TH last year because Edinburgh were short on that side when Nel and Bryce were both injured.
Hopefully he is one of these rare beasts that can cover both sides of the scrum and do well at both. Toonie rated him highly enough to bring him into the Scotland squad. It was not really clear which side they saw him playing though.

I like the starting pack and Porter/Molony/Deegan to come off the bench.
The replacement half-backs are handy enough for pro14 level. Starting halfbacks should perform okay but expect a far bit of rustiness.
Backline has solid players in it but midfield doesn't fill me with confidence and our FB is an OH out of position.

Re: Leinster V Edinburgh
I'd say Cockers is doing a bit of rotation but is also looking for a big stodgy team to grind away at the Ladyboys.
I can see Leinster having 70-80% possession in this game and Cockers it putting boys out there to soak things up and ram away at the Leinster line for 60 mins then bring on Freaun on to bludgeon up the middle with Fowles and Kinghorn to provide some quick spark for the last 20. Up the middle, up the middle, up the middle till the Ladyboys think we're going up the middle again only for Blair to cut one of his lines and go on a mazy run!

Leinster have lost 12 times in the RDS since 2005. Scarlets became only the 2nd team to do it more than once last may. Their previous win was during the 2007 world cup.
Embra have never done it so it would be a great achievement and they would become the 10th team to do so.

Waitin', waitin' on the train.
With lots of blue heads and their wain,
Dreamin' of creamy pints and no rain.
An' Furlong scoring off a ruck on a mazy 30m run skittling Embra players left and right before placing the ball with an air of insouciance underneath the posts - again.
(Ok that last line didn't quite scan but you get the gist.)
COYBIB!

Re: Leinster V Edinburgh
Sensible refereeing. Edinburgh player standing in a position to catch the ball and Leinster player flys into him. What are his options? Stand firm and take a knee to the face? Jump at the last second to avoid penalty and get completely clattered by a player with all the momentum? I really hope that doesn't get cited.tigertattie wrote:To the letter if the law that should have been a yellow for Edinburgh. Ref decided in the spirit of the game

A strike to the head......
Oh yes, forgot, it's Leinster in Dublin.... silly me, as you were chaps!!
Ref bottled that completely.
Did Phil Burleigh not see red v Stade for less?

Yup, now referees only look at the consequences which is why play acting has been creeping into the game the last few years.

Apart from conceding a try when the clock was in the red at the end of the half, it was a really positive half from Edinburgh. Raising a few eyebrows.
