Sorry, the boss came in....
For me, the cap needs to be £60m minimum to allow for enough players in each position to become available

I would say 54m based on that and without looking at who actually fits into that

Cheers for the work afro - you must be bored
I argued when we set up this league that we have to permanently lock values by going down that route, because its pointless locking it for one season as season two would just be the usual stock market league. And it's going to be a case of who gets the best lawyers first.
I also can't see how a cap of say 50m will help with longevity. All you'll get is a messy season three with very few players available.
There are three options for the end of the season/start of season 2 IMO.
1. Artificially weaken everyone's side, forcing sales of a percentage of overall squad value.
2. Keep the locked values and continue with the league using these. Nobody will agree to this though, as there's a vested interest from those that have planned more for this.
3. Have no cap for season 2, then end the league at the end of that season. A year isn't a bad run for a league.
I would also suggest that we have to use some kind of bidding system to ensure fairness. There will be players over 30m which several managers will want and first come, first served isn't right.

We absolutely HAVE to set a date for new TM values to apply to existing players, otherwise I'm not sure many people will be happy.

There will be a date where new TM values are relevant and the old ones are discarded. What date is this?

Start of season 1, TM Values were frozen.
So, start of season 2, TM Values should be frozen at their new values.

Re: Challenge League Homepage IV
I think in terms of setting a date, we either have to say it’s the Tuesday after the last game of season 1 or the Tuesday before the tactics are due for game 1 of season 2

Re: Challenge League Homepage IV
I would say it's more important to ensure it's not mid-update than getting the week right. I'd even argue we could lock after the last few updates are done very soon.
Could you imagine if half the major euro leagues did an update and others didn't right before the cut off.

Re: Challenge League Homepage IV
Is there likely to be another major update before we start season 2?
There’s only just been one on all the major leagues.
There is always the risk of it, but now is probably as low a risk time as any

Re: Challenge League Homepage IV
Tactics up, results in to me Monday night please
Afro - not sure if Tino spoke to you at all but his wife got taken into hospital on Friday and i havent heard anything from him other than he understandably wouldn't be able to get tactics in. We may have to postpone if you are okay with that but ill try and find out for you.
As for his votes, i will need a volunteer for the Kalamazoo Outrage v SAS game (that isn't Afro or Marky) please to do an extra vote.

Re: Challenge League Homepage IV
Morning guys, are we postponing everything for a week? We will have a knock on effect of results not going up and not receiving bonuses because we can't vote on Afro' s game.
More importantly Tinos situation comes first.
I suggest that transfers and foreigns can still be done this week. But lawyers and injuries get postponed to next week, where we will start week 15.
Good idea?

I've an issue in that I'm off to Austria this week until next Tuesday, hopefully all fine with wifi but can't guarantee.

So if I have read that right you could do with a week off? No game this weekend and we start week 15 on the 6th of Feb?

Fine by me. I'll still do my voting today but if Miky agrees I'm willing to partake in a week off to reset things.

Re: Challenge League Homepage IV
Yeah I suggest if people can vote for game 14 as usual then do so. Then Miky will have everything, hopefully, to post the results of week 14 on Monday 5th.
Those, like me, that are voting on Afro and Tinos game can wait until it is posted, hopefully this weekend.

We can have Week 15 off, but i want Week 14 votes from people who can by the end of today ideally please (7pm) or as close to.
Then we can close off this week and carry on fresh from Tuesday 6th Feb.

Just seen Bilbao have replaced Laporte with Inigo Martinez from Sociedad. That's a ballsy move isn't it?! Aren't they massive rivals?

Massive rivals. They paid his release clause so Sociedad couldn’t stop him, but seems there was nothing in the Barca rumours.

Bit of a sideways step imo, would have expected bigger teams would be in for him given the City/Barca links

Emerson now at Chelsea. I'm doing ok this window. He will be understudy to Alonso but should get game time.
Just need Arthur, Dendoncker and Neres to move now.

Why don't you wait until next Monday Miky? Hopefully you would have them all then.
Posting them now or next Monday doesn't matter too much because we are missing a game

Hope everyone is well after a week off.
I am currently without a phone which massively limits my time on here, but hopefully that should be sorted this week.
When can we expect results?

Okay. No problem postponing.
Although I’d like the fact that I started Nunez and Til to count. If the game had been played, Nunez would have qualified for a value in case he is drawn for Lawyers.
