Soddy - 3

Please ask if you need to know what your budget is

Have only received round 2 bids from Hero and Trebs so far. Please get them in

If draft bids aren't received by a decent time tomorrow, do we give more time or are bids closed and any unused are lost?

When’s the deadline and what happens if you’re outbid in the next round? Is there a third round or do you lose your remaining draft picks?

I’d say something like Midday tomorrow for second rounds bids, with any remaining bids to be made by Monday midnight ready for lawyers, releases etc on Tuesday

Anyone who wants to use it to update their budget is most welcome, let me know and I'll send you a link which allows you to edit rather than just view

Each team has a squad page and a budget page, where transfers in / out are made.

Tactics / Press conference bonus pages are where those bonuses will be added every week once Hero confirms them

The current budget on the summary page is updated for all those who have already completed 3 draft picks - I forgot that it was going to be based on TM value so that's why the starting budget line is different for every team, essentially the budget line at the bottom is where we are after each team's draft picks

Let me know if any qs or if you want to help with updating it

Yeah I would like to use this. But I think my current budget is wrong. I have spent 1.215m making my current budget 785k not 745k?

We started out with 1m budget and 1m for draft yes?

Think it's brill Bam

Your bids were

Sierhuis - 655k, TM value 630k
Innocent - 230k, TM value 225k
Anuar - 370k, TM value 360k

Total bid - 1,255k, total TM value 1,215k, so your remaining budget is 2m - 1,255k = 745k

I forgot that the bids could be above TM value, and the rest of the file runs off TM value so I had to adjust each starting budget to make sure that starting budget - TM value was equal to the budget left after making bids

I'll share an edit link with you tomorrow

Nando, Fluxy, Nads, $ka - get your bids in please, I'd like to post results this afternoon

Soddy - 1 more bid needed as Mahlambi has already gone

If there are still clashes, what happens ? I doubt there will be time to get a round 3 done before foreigns open, so my thoughts would be that you lose those bids

I'm against this personally, but happy to go with the majority. If we did, it would be with the normal budget only, draft budget would be lost

Think we need a consensus on what to do, please could everyone say which option they prefer in the event of any more lost bids

1. Any unused bids lost, remaining draft budget lost
2. Unused bids lost, remaining draft budget lost, 1 extra foreign this week but must be out of normal budget
3. Unused bids lost, some portion of draft budget added to remaining budget (half?), no extra foreign

You can't take people's draft budget away imo. I would suggest having as many rounds as necessary to get the three picks each, what is the rush?

One way you could do it is priorities?
So I want Rashford - bid X
If I lose my next bid is Martial - bid Y
To speed up the process

Its an auction - once the auction closes its tough imo

The rush is starting Week 1 of the season on time tomorrow

i dont see why people should be punished by losing out on a draft player because someone else bid a tad more for them myself - just let them draft until they get a player in if necessary

You lot are too kind.

There has to be a limit on the auction, otherwise I would have been best off bidding £200k for Hudson Odoi, Kangin Lee and one other popular player I would never have been able to get, then hold off until the 4th round of the auction and pick up the best players left for their TM value without going over the draft budget

Would have saved myself £250k of my normal budget

Enthusiasm!

I feel anyone who doesn’t get their full 3 draft signings should get an extra lawyer for this week only. Any left over draft budget can be used for that, otherwise it is then lost.

That is the equivalent of having a third round of drafts alongside the normal TPs, plus everyone knows where they stand ahead of it happening.

I've took a bit of a gamble on my bid on the basis that I'd get another chance if i don't get the player. Its way too harsh to just take money off people for not signing players.

I'd have no issues with taking our time and being fair.

I bid extra assuming that everyone had to use their draft budgets, and that they'd be doing so to top up their bids. Otherwise as has been said, just wait out the first round of the draft and pick up three good £200k players.

Also, what happens with Lawyers when it comes to players with £0 value?

I'd accept the extra foreign is a good compromise. Of course, you'd have to suggest that the draft budget can be used to sign that player.

Option 2 would get my vote.

Whilst I think everyone should have the opportunity to bring in 3 players, the draft needs a cut off point and it would be a tad unfair on those that have spent most of their budget to secure their targets in the first round whilst others can continually bid at low prices until they secure theirs.

I did worry that the whole process might be in too tight a time frame bearing in mind there were going to be a round or two.

I will go along with the majority but equally happy in starting next Tuesday rather than this week.

Option 2 for me.
Can see it from both sides, like Bam said if it does carry on to a 3rd round etc then that person/s pretty much gets someone at face value whilst everyone else has had to pay more on their picks just because they were a stingy fecker in their previous bids. But on the flip should they be disadvantaged with the loss of a big chunk of budget?
Personally I'm airing on the side of tough. I've got a side worth 1/5th of Olly's and have to lump that so others can have hard times too.

I’ll go with whatever Bam is saying if he’s the one putting the effort in
Deadlines were there and don’t think folk should lose bids but don’t see why they shouldn’t lose draft budget, it’s in the name! I went big deliberately so I wouldn’t miss out on that basis

The process is more or less done - no spoilers but we've only got 1 player clash so far with just Nads/Ska to bid, so I think we're ok to start tomorrow

The draft budget ends with the draft, I agree with Hero that it's tough sh1t - should have been less stingy with it to begin with, or in the second round

Everyone will have the opportunity to bring in 3 players by having the extra foreign, it's just potentially losing a couple of hundred thousand of the draft budget as a penalty for being cheap

Think that's fair really

Would be good to get a tactics template sorted too
